What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 13 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (77 of 81 positive).
Players praise the precise controls and fluid gameplay. [1][2][3] Some find the game challenging and addictive. [2][4][5] A few note issues like input lag or fixed jump height. [6][3]

If you're looking for a haardy-hard platformer that will test your skills and keep you coming back for more, The Rise is absolutely worth playing. Just be prepared to sweat for those carrots! 🐇 It's a challenging and addictive piece that doesn't go easy on you - but that’s exactly what makes it so satisfying. Precise controls, cleverly designed levels, and a steep difficulty curve mean you'll need both patience and …

It was a short and fun experience. I like the minimalistic style and the soundtrack. Gameplay is pretty smooth and snappy, very satisfying to nail the sequence of a level and do it quickly. The difficulty was just right, at least for someone who never played a precision platformer with time trials like me. I enjoyed my time and hope to see more from this dev.

Horrible input lag on the dash makes this borderline unplayable :( Shame cause I liked the idea EDIT: I will review my review (!) as I managed to finish the game. I did have some fun, so it doesn't feel fair to leave a thumbs down. Controls are janky however

Neat little game, would recommend it is fun. The controls are fluid and the level design is good, there isn't a single level I would consider BS or bad. However, the jump height is fixed which can be a little annoying at time. I think the game could really benefit from a non-fixed jump height, it doesn't have to be 100% dependent on the input's duration but it could have multiple levels. Aside from that, I don't …

It's a great game don't get me wrong and the price is definitely advantageous, but for what it offers it's a bit too long and definitely felt very samey on the long run, especially when trying to go for its hardest achievement. Also, like, if you have such achievements requiring you to restart your run multiple time, give me an option to skip cutscenes instead of forcing them onto me every single time i restart. …
Summarised from 19 of the 47 public posts collected about this game; every point cites the posts behind it ([n] opens the post) and the split is counted from the posts’ own ratings. Updated Oct 13, 2026. How summaries are made
92% of the 13 Steam reviewers we collected recommend The Rise. The complaint that keeps coming up: input lag on dash. Deal-breaker or nitpick?

Currently working on a new thinky game, which I'll announce soon. If you love detective/deduction/thinky games, please consider following! 💙

neutral · AI labelView post →I've given this more thought than it deserves but I would say the Rise of Skywalker's biggest problem is that it has a videogame plot. It's a string of random quests kicked off by random characters, featuring different game mechanics from point to point.

neutral · AI labelView post →Precision platformer with fluid gameplay and nothing you haven’t seen before. If you enjoy indie games or precision platformers in general, the inspiration is obvious. Despite its unique characters, world, and graphics, gameplay adheres to the established rules. That is actually a good thing because there is no reason to break something that already works. In this game, you control a rabbit (actually, one bunny carrying another), which could not be more fitting for a platformer. Your main…

neutral · AI labelView post →Although The RIse is a hard game and did make me angry at times, it was very fun! I went through the levels not thinking of the carrots and then i saw i need 60 carrots for more levels so what i did was i went back through all of them and got all the carrots! The extra levels are definitely the hardest But i like them so far 10/10

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I saw the 2.2 hour playtime review, and I thought I could do it under 2 hours and return the game LoL end up playing for 2.6 hours for all 90 levels, all but one achievement (deathless achievement) I'm playing with keyboards, my finger hurts for the constant button pressing. It's kinda force speed-run platformer.
