What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 200 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (501 of 711 positive).
Players widely praise the game's atmosphere, aesthetic, and potential. [1][2][3][4] Many reviewers note the game is very early access, buggy, and unfinished. [5][6][7][8]

Excellent atmosphere. Looks like a game. Feels like a bug report. I almost never write reviews, but after playing this, I felt it was my civic duty to warn others. Bought it to play a dark WWI shooter, ended up beta testing quest triggers, broken interactions, questionable AI, and progression that leaves you wondering whether you're stuck because you missed something or because the game forgot what it's supposed to …

I really wanted to love this! But.. it’s very clearly still in VERY early access, too much for $24, too much for even the $17 on sale.. and needs lots of improvements, walking animations and overall movements of the game are currently very jumpy/laggy? I refunded it for now but I am willing to try again once it leaves early access and is polished up more. There’s lots of potential here and I do hope this game …

DO NOT BUY RIGHT NOW IF YOU WANT A VIABLE GAME. THIS IS PROOF-OF-CONCEPT BUILT AT THE MOMENT. YOU ARE SUPPORTING THE PROMISE OF A GREAT GAME BY BUYING THIS. From what little I've played of it; I really enjoyed it. granted that its a buggy, placeholdery mess that is really more meant to demonstrate what will come. But this honestly has great bones and I can see it being one of the most interesting games in the …

A genuine passion project from a solo developer who’s clearly pouring heart and soul into every corner of it. The game receives constant attention, with weekly patches and a dev who actively listens to the community, always looking to shape this into an experience truly worth having. WW1 titles have always fascinated me, and this one hits every mark—from atmosphere to gameplay. Once you let yourself sink into its …

Janky, full of glitches. To the point that completing quests is a challenge not because the quest is difficult, but because quest markers don't load, or tasks don't update, or vague dialogue fails to communicate your purpose, etc. This is very much an unfinished game, almost a prototype. BUT. The game it promises to become is awesome, and when the stars align, you can catch glimpses of that game while playing. Given …

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to like this game, but it is unplayable in it's current state. The edit controls option flat out does not work. Dodge and melee are the same button. There is no logic in this place.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’m going to wait for version 1.0 because for now it’s really confusing and frustrating, but the game has incredible potential. Sometimes enemies spawn behind us or right in front of us. They can see us from very far away, shoot at us from tight angles, and since they are gray/black in dull environments, they are very hard to spot. The sound design is good, but there is a constant, overwhelming background noise. Stealth doesn't work, even with the right equipment. Enemies can clip through…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Since this had mixed reviews i waited to get it on a sale. I can now say that i would have gladly bought it full price. It is a world in which i love, the style is amazing, the gunplay is actually very fun. The game is rough around the edges and unfinished, but i was surprised at how much content i actually found here. I had watched some videos and read through reviews and some of them paint a very different picture than what's here. I had figured to see a lot of bugs, crashing, stuttering,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Made by one guy, in early alpha, good theme, dev gives daily updates on discord and is very commited to making this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Falling through the map, bodies floating, no animations for the majority of gameplay, horrible AI voiceacting, buggy interface, water physics going blasitc, terrible weapon stats feedback, counterintuitive gameplay design, lack of combat sound design, poor weapon feedback, horrible hitboxes. If you do not have the spare money to fund this project I'd say stay well clear of it. But damn if I don't want this game to be good, it just simply have a long long way to go for that and I really hope…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Several things are not going well for this game, I loved the Demo, the concept and the artwork. It set a tone the game release hasn't met though. I'm not a fan of the fish eye type of lensing. I wish the player could choose to adjust this. The aiming is awkward / clunky* and one of my all time favorite worst game mechanic the sprint feature. Horrible choice. *Focusing on a target drags out, takes too long as if trying to be overly dramatically just makes emersion an impossibility. It's like…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It gets rougher and rougher with each update. When it first came out, it ran smooth. Now? holy stutter and lag.. my sound was super delayed like i would shoot my gun and there would be no gunshot for 3 seconds before the sound played.. which means all the sounds were delayed. Very choppy when trying to play, and my cape doesnt fit any uniform and constantly glitches into my body or vibrates a lot.. Started off cool, but, I cant play this anymore.. in my opinion, its only getting worse…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do not trust the reviews that say that this game is "rough around the edges", this game is rough in the core and brilliant around the edges: Superficially is cool as all hells, but it's the core gameplay and design that drag it down. The combat is janky as hell, the map feels empty, large for the sake of being large. Aiming the rifle is extremely slow, but only the rifle, the smg is always quite accurate, the pistol is more accurate and for some reason louder... The NPCs are all impossibly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its a good game but its still needs a LOT more time in the oven. im gonna refund because im broke as hell, but if i wasnt id keep this in my library and follow development. will definetly rebuy once the game is a bit more baked. the cosmetic design is better than some AAA games, thats for sure.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While I haven't gotten far in the game, I've seen enough to know this: The game has good bones. It oozes its own creative style and it looks great with the graphics it has. The graphics aren't stellar by todays standards. Comparable to say PS3 era, but they look good for this aesthetic. The gunplay has this strange mechanic where the reticle expands and contracts when you move the mouse but not when you move your character. It also contracts very very slowly and expands rapidly. This makes…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still early access so it has its quirks, but I still would consider this game a great investment for what it has in it at the moment and the potential in what it shows. If you aren't feeling that spending 24 bucks for some 30+ hours of gameplay is worth it, I at least advise you keep this game on your radar until there is more content for the price. With frequent updates and an active discord community It's 100% worth it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let me first start by saying this. Only buy it if you want to support the dev. The game is rough, really rough, with jank everywhere but the aesthetic and world are there and I dig it. The game doesn't feel even close to being finished so those looking for a complete experience should pass on this. I really dig what this dev is going for though, so I'm going to stick with this purchase in the hopes this gets a lot more fleshed out later down the road and only those willing to support the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →enemies are kinda able to spot you through rain and mist while you have no chance of seein them
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game feels very bare bones even for an early access release. It looks nice but doesn't feel very fluid to play. Right off the bat there's some weird audio mixing of the player's footsteps on the floorboards, like they're out of sync which was quite distracting. Also, the background artillery fire isn't sporadic enough and not convincing. I never felt like I was in the midst of a war. There's no lip movement from your superior who you meet at the start and it made him look a bit stiff (no…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I absolutely love this game. I'm discovering new things about it little by little, and honestly, I don't mind that it's taking me a long time to figure everything out. By the time it's fully released, I plan to be right there along for the journey. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to enjoy it as much as I wanted because my system struggles to run it, but if it becomes playable on my setup in the future, I'll gladly buy it again. I loved the trench warfare, the shovel combat, and the gunplay. It…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can be improved, do love the concept the only stuff that is killing the game for me: is the gun feel as it randomly spikes the aim, clunky run, doesn't feel nice to travel through the menu's. the darn terrain is odd. I DO WANT TO PLAY THIS, BUT THE ROUGH EDGES ARE TOO ROUGH
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! Considering this is an alpha test and buggy, and also made by one guy. The genre mash up of WW1,Resident Evil, Souls and steampunk is just awesome. The character models and gear are beautiful and dark while holding some historical accuracy that I truly enjoy. This game has all the bones of a dark, beautiful, unique and challenging masterpiece if given the time. 10/10 on concept alone. This scratches THEE itch. Buy it and enjoy it for what it is and what it will be.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The theme of the game is amazingly well executed and the dialogues are surprisingly well written for an indie game. The almost daily updates and the community engagement in the project are on a level i rarely see nowadays. Looking forward to the release of this masterpiece.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent aesthetics. I’ll keep an eye on the game’s development and may buy it again in the future (just like I did with No Man’s Sky). But for now...The gameplay, shooting mechanics, hit detection — everything feels so very rough.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You are a Beta tester. focused on visuals before gameplay and its apparent. i was expecting a dark/horror ww1 semi-fantasy game, and quickly realised with the 2nd character you talk to (sgt. von? voss?) is wearing 1990`s multicam, now knowing what kind of early access game this would be. you are a beta tester. alot problems from the game tripping over itself. broken ai and interactions. and constant reminders to help with bug reports.... the atmosphere and vibes are amazing but thats the only…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is not a game, it's a work in progress in the very beginig and is very unfair to charge for this
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I now its still being developed but it feels too early to release even as early access.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game is ok but it is not worth the 26 dollars the gameplay is ok but it needs better guidance and paths to progress and i really think the game needs to be cheaper dont buy this game if you cant easily figure out stuff i love ww1 stuff but i just dont like this game that much
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"DANGER AREA! *spawns mines in places i've already run over to the point I literally can't esape the first wave defense area via backtracking to even grab the helmet I earned*" Cool concept; game can go to hell until it fights fair. "Git gud" nah
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's and early accsess game, and it has its bugs, but what is here is very exciting!. If you are someone that can look past its issues for now then you will have fun playing this, if its a little to early i think putting this on your wishlist and keeping an eye on it is worth the time. 6/10 (for now) gotta give props to a solo developer who has a vision and dose consistent updates.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nowhere NEAR a sellable game. This thing is so early in the development it can barely be called a game. There's placeholder models and textures, holes in the geometry, default fonts, nonfunctional buttons, half-baked implementations... All that makes it feel like some sort of asset flip, which I hope is not the case. DEFINITELY NEEDS MORE TIME IN THE OVEN!! And I'm talking YEARS. WW1-horror setting is interesting and I'm very happy to see it represented here, but this seriously should NOT…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I understand this was created by 1 person but that doesn't give an excuse for this too be so clunky at this price, even at the sale price of $25.55. I can see the concept of this game and the future of it but right now, being spoiled by other fantanstic souls-like games, this is very subpar. I encourage the developer to keep on updating this game and making it better but as of now, simple problems such as the NPCs having awkward movement and not going to you especially during the church mission…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't get me wrong this game has its bugs but if you can play rust you can play this. I absolutely love what the dev has done and I cannot wait to see what he has in store. This game is the whole reason I got a PC and I am not disappointed at all!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Concept: Great Execution: It just sucks, avoid.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →OOOOOOOH ITS SOOOOOOO JAAAAAANK. I can see what the intent is. Maybe in 5 years. But right now. No. Just no......no more jank....no more pain....
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Had to refund, sadly. Let us turn off Motion Blur entirely and polish the Controls a little more (especially the Motion Blur!!) and I will buy it again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tutorial is 10 years within the past, of course art wise its great. But peel back that art layer and what are you left with? A game that's barely playable. Buggy of course due to the dev leaning towards art, ran out of funds for VA's so ai voices it is. Lower the price for now and its still not worth it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is an INCREDIBLE potential here.... Please dev do not waste it... Leaving a positive review for support. I enjoyed whatever was thrown at me in the game. Just to let you know, as much as I loved it, the game requires a lot of work so if you are looking for a complete game then its not ready yet
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To start off, I love the concept, setting, and look of this game. It has massive potential in that regard and I am happy to throw money towards its continued development by buying it in EA. That being said, the game is an abject mess. The first issue I encountered were the controls. Some of the keybinds do not register or work (for example I cannot crouch). The crouch is somehow bound to right click instead of C which is also bound to shoot. So every time I shoot I crouch lol After that I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely NOT recommended, had to play without sound because everything sounds like an 12 year old found an free stock sound libary, footsteps and sounds are de-sync, faces dont move so characters feel like generic asset puppets, voice"acting" is...well we better dont call it acting because every voice sound AI generated. the ai is utterly stupid, you can stand 5 meters infront of an enemy and shoot his buddy ang get absolutely no reaction. game feel like an erly alpha that shouldnt be in…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I absolutely love this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. I'm learning little bits about it at a time. It's taking forever to figure out and that's okay because by the time it's all the way out I'm going to be there. It's only going to get better and it's already somewhat playable on the steam deck.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like so many people have pointed out already, this game have so much potential. The atmosphere and world sure is amazing and really dark and gritty, with the enemies and world itself very appealing. The idea behind the game, the world and the gameplay are all really cool and great, that being said IT IS STILL VERY MUCH EARLY ACCESS wich means: - Bugs, bugs and even more bugs - Not optimized and runs pretty badly on even the stronger computers - The feeling of it being not a alpha or…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a game with potential, a LOT of potential and i want to see it become something phenomenal but very early access.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At it's current state, yeah, I wouldnt recommend it. I mean, if I shoot an enemy point blank in the face, I would expect 2 things from it: Either he dies on the spot, or he immediatly retaliates. He did neither of those, he just turn around, looked at me in desbelief and went on with his day. And to top that off, he wasn't alone, there where like 3 guys and none of them batted an eye at me shooting one of their mates.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its feels more like a tech demo i would just wait to buy this game when its out of early access
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Games not finished it needs to go back into the oven. But I wish there was a reccomendation with a huge astriek next to it. But while I had some fun this game is obviously not complete. I refunded it after a few hours not because what there was bad but because the game felt unfinished. So yes please, chef please keep cooking but ffs use a thermometer to make sure it's cooked fully.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'll give this a thumbs up but: Liked the ambience, but still in very early development.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite its current features, it still feels very much like a final alpha build. The jank is too much for me. HOWEVER, there is a ton of potential and the atmosphere is great, albeit devoid of life and activity, which needs to change IMO. I recommend it, but with the caviat that im sorry if this game never gets better lol.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WWI Semi-Soulslike with an amazing artsyle and satisfying TPS combat. Glad I have been able to back this game. Game is still in super early stages but looks super promising.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Early access is putting it lightly. The game is in an alpha state. The Dev gives constant information and patches. I would recommend it, as it is a small project, with great potential, and I would really like for it to reach its goal. Give feedback and recommendations. This is the time to do it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's great proof of concept. Keep going, I'm cheering for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →LMK when combat is good
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kickstarter Scam. this isnt even early access or a beta... its just shovelware.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They are charging $25 for a game where the first npcs you meet are static and speak without their mouths moving.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →im going to be honest this game needs a lot of work, exiting dialogue was rough it wouldn't let me move at all and at one point had to restart the game because a door at the beginning wouldn't even open for me, the game looks great honestly ill give it that but it does need work on and honestly the ai voice actors does throw it off a bit for me
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Leaving a positive review, just because I think it has a lot of potential. A lot of work need to go into the game even more so on the sound and gunplay, Hope to see what will come out of it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great potential, unplayable glitchy trash.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Holy moly this game is JANK. But when the game is finished. The potential is there, the atmosphere and graphics are on another level for an indie game. Get it now if you can get over the jank and lack of content or just wait for few months at least.
