What people are saying
A cute, addictive management sim, but micromanagement and grind frustrate some.
Many players find Vending Machine Co. highly addictive and relaxing, praising its adorable art, soothing gameplay, and satisfying loop. The game is often described as a perfect chill experience for listening to podcasts or unwinding. [2][3][10][17][24]
However, a significant minority criticise the game for becoming tedious and overwhelming due to excessive micromanagement, repetitive mini-games, and a lack of automation. Some also report game-breaking bugs that erase progress. [30][31][32][33][34][35][36]

60 of 219 · most liked firstOk first of all, sorry for this very long review. I tried to keep it short, but apparently I had 253 in-game days worth of emotions to process haha. Enjoy!😭 When it first came out, I totally didnt understand the mixed reactions. I kept asking my friends what they thought, and the opinions were ALL over the place XD from “this is overwhelming” to “this is weirdly addictive,” to “not my cup of tea,” and even “their best game so far.” Meanwhile i was spending many hours in the first town, cause…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Why is this game so addicting???? I've played for nearly 23 hours so far. Here are my notes: •I got this game ahead of launch, it was AWESOME to see game improvements and additions happening. Almost everything I thought "Oh I wish this game had.." got added in. •The art is adorable, and I love that you can get click reactions from the neighborhood cats/birds •The soundtrack is pretty solid. A couple of the songs I do skip upon occasion, just because they had some repetitive sounds, but I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am a bit torn writing this review. The art is cute and the basic idea relaxing and fun. However, the execution of the game is just lackluster. The "mini games" for building or maintaining machines are overly simplistic and get repetitive very early on. The game play loop that forces you to rebuy basic convenience for each and every new machine instead of global improvements is frustrating. Micromanaging many machines is tedious. In the end, having success feels like a punishment. More…

neutral · AI labelView post →NOT having the ability to purchase an upgrade where you can auto stock items nor having an upgrade to auto deliver items is a huge miss on this game. There are 9 districts. Each with 3 vending machines to own, operate, manage, upgrade, etc. You're telling me I have to go through basically every other district EVERY in-game day in order to micromanage my company in a "cozy" game. The art style, amazing. The music, a vibe. The concept, sweet. But not having a QoL upgrade in this type of game…

My opinions aren't facts, and you're not expected to agree with them—and that's perfectly okay. My goal isn't to tell you whether you should like a game. Instead, I try to explain what worked for me, what didn't, and who I think the game might appeal to. Constructive discussion is always welcome, but please remember there's a real person…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It’s a grind, but it’s not a satisfying grind. Pretty early on you’re just waiting for the pointless timer to let you advance to the next day. As you expand, the timer goes up. Early on it forces you to wait 30 seconds each day which is fine on days you do things (though even that is too long at times), but eventually you have to wait two minutes to advance to the next day. It just wastes time and artificially inflates play time. I find that a lot of these types of these business…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Vending Machine Co overstays its welcome and turns repetitive vending/management into a tedious grind. The mini-games are simple and quickly get boring, and the game feels like it’s missing something to keep you engaged. As you succeed, micromanagement increases—more machines, more areas, more restocking and item-moving chores, with little automation—so there’s no satisfying relief from the busywork. The price also feels too high for the experience.

neutral · AI labelView post →At fist very cute game, a lil confusing imo. Then you start to get it working, you get few other places and you see you need to play lame minigames too to get the achievements. I hate that fishing minigame so much too... At one point it started to get way too overwhelming to my ADHD mind and I was aimlessly going from place to place, trying to remember what place needed what item refills and trying to remember what items I need to buy, forgot and back to vending machines to check again,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overview Vending Machine Co. is a managing simulator where you can buy, decorate and upgrade vending machines in cutely designed towns. It is a great game to pass time in. You can keep it relaxing or up the difficulty (I personally played on normal). Pros The game's visuals are beautiful and sweet. Cartoon towns and npcs revolved around a Japanese theme. The customisation of the vending machines, your van, and all the products you can buy to put into the machines are fairly large so you…

neutral · AI labelView post →whoever was in charge of the music deserves a raise. whenever i get a certain song for the day i never skip so i can listen to it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Micromanaging each machine gets old really fast, especially when you're cleaning off graffiti and fixing faults every day. Feels like the only way to enjoy the game is to max out every machine before expanding to new areas. I would love to explore the game more, collect the mangas, play the coin machines, or blackjack thing. Ironically, having more money and being more successful just becomes an inconvenience. The more you expand, the more chores you have to do. I already gave up after the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Remove the concept of finite "days" or have an unlimited mode. Otherwise it's not necessarily an idler or relaxing
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the concept of this game, it's super chill and comfy. Awesome anime references too. BUT a literal game breaking bug - the game freezes and crashes, now this wouldn't be a big deal for me IF IT DIDNT REMOVE EVERYTHING FROM THE VENDING MACHINES (1000's of dollars gone!!!). In 1 1/2 hours my game crashed twice and it both times did this. I want to love and play this game till I 100% it, it's super satisfiying, but it is not enjoyable until this game is fixed and until it is I DO NOT…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is way too long, after a certain point it becomes a mind numbing chore. It should be about 4 times shorter. The style is cute, music is nice, there is a decent amount of details but it is also a bit rough and way too tedious.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stock from truck. Stock from truck. Stock from truck. This game is one of the best chill experiences for my little ADHD brain. Preferences in each district change every ten days or so. Stock up on those items or just sell what you want. Advertise. Choose the look of your vending machines. Load up your truck and do laps around town restocking and slowly adding features to your machines for make more money to buy more machines and add features and make more money and The only time lkmies are…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game so much! very well made and the art is absolutely adorable and it doesn't get old or boring, been playing 15hrs non-stop (sick at home atm) and i keep discovering new things. One thing I would love to ask is MORE HOT DRINK AND ITEMS PLEASEEEEEEEEE, like hot tea, burgers, hotdogs or meat sticks if we wanna stay in asian theme, please and thank you :) BUY THE GAME
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've wishlisted this for sooo long. I've been following the dev since I play Ship Inc. I have a crappy laptop, so I was stuck in the loading screan for a long time. After lowering the graphics, etc, then I was able to play. Not the game fault, of course. I enjoy this more than Ship Inc because this has more depth, it's more complicated, and it's not a simple 'clicking and dragging' stuff. You have to strategize which items would sell more, along with the prices, customize your vending…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to love this game, I just don't. The first area was fun. Setting up my vending machines, stocking them, upgrading = fun. Then I bought the next area and there was nothing new. Even the items are the same. This game is so very repetitive. The more machines you get, the more tedious the game becomes. Wake up, repair, restock all the machines, sleep. Over and over and over and over and over. Honestly, the minigames in each area are more fun than the main game, but even they are not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Summary: Really great game, very addicting once you get the ball rolling, and provides around 12 hours of content as is. Mini games are enjoyable but do become boring quite quickly, and a major mechanic might be hindering this games longetivity severely. ----------- - the gameplay loop is fantastic, perfect for a semi-idle where you can watch some shows or videos and play this on the side. It is NOT a full idle game however, you do have to be checking stock/repairs/timer often. -…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay this might just be my favourite game from Rogue Duck after Witchy Business. For some reason it doesn't feel as repetetive and i just absolutely adore all the different areas of the map and the cute residents. I really respect the devs and the team for how awesome the support is on the discord, they've been replying to everyone and it's so nice!!!! The music is great too!! One of my only gripes is the difficulty, i wish there was a hard mode (maybe they'll add it???) because there's like a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a really cool idea for a game! The visuals are very colorful and eye catching
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of those games where I wish I could give a neutral for whether or not I recommend it. It's not a bad game. It's just not very enjoyable. I feel like it has potential because I really do like other games I have played by Rogue Duck, but this one just feels like it is missing something to keep me engaged. I would have asked for a refund, but I got this game in a bundle with another game that I did not want to refund, so that it the only reason I still have it. Once again, not a bad…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the art so much ,the vibe and the concept. BUT, the game is very slow :( You basically have to wait until things sell. I felt like time passed by and I was still too poor to do anything interesting. After 2 hours and a half, I am bored and moving on. At least that is how I feel right now. It becomes frustrating to me and why play if its frustrating?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a super chill game. I feel like even though there's a sort of rush to fulfill with having to restock all the machines, catch up with the supply and demand of the products and all the maintenance for the vending machines, it's still relaxing. I've been using it to listen to podcasts, audio shows and all that and it's the perfect accompaniment. And to be fair, the achievements are also such a treat for an achievement hunter like me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nonstop fun so far—like, dangerously fun. The mini games? Absolutely addictive. Whoever added those clearly wanted me to never be productive again. Also, I’ve discovered something important: my shopaholic tendencies have officially made the jump into the game. I am, without fail, broke at all times. Virtual me has no financial literacy and zero self-control. If there’s something to buy, I will buy it… and then immediately wonder why I can’t afford anything else. 10/10 gameplay. 0/10…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a super fun and chill game. It looks really cute and I love just casually grinding, filling machines and collecting money to get upgrades. Plenty of content to be worth getting this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this on 21st April (few days before main release thanks to RG providing me the full game beta key). Thank you Rogue Duck for the free key, much love. I played this on stream and myself and community found it super cosy, fun and cuteeeeee! The tutorial could be much less as after all my playtime in the game I still was in tutorial and unsure why you have to play 35 in game days (10 mins each), you CAN end the days early once you got the rhythm but I found myself stuck in the first…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the type of game you’d play just to pass the time or when you’re bored in class, rather than something you’d actually sit down and focus on. It gets boring pretty quickly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this game! A lot of cozy games have turned towards using genai to create assets and I've been on a mission to find some with great hand drawn art like this! Such a time sink!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm a little on the fence on this one, as it has some good points and some bad. But overall I just don't think I enjoyed it enough to recommend it. Now, the game looks absolutely gorgeous, I really love the art style and all the areas and vending machine skins are absolutely charming. But that's...the only real positive I have to say, everything else is mainly neutral. Gameplay-wise, it's fine for a little while and then just becomes a drag. You start with a single vending machine in a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →On the surface the game looks quirky and the art is lovely but the gameplay loop for me isn't satisfying enough.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I managed to complete this game by getting all of the achievements in just over 10 hours. The gameplay loop is very repetitive but that is to be expected from a management sim. Keeping track of each areas preferences could be a lot for people who get overwhelmed easily, luckily there is an in game guide that you can take a look at anytime and it tells you exactly what each person likes! Near the end of the game it did feel very tedious, specifically reaching day 200 as I had most of the other…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun! I didn't really agree with some of the negative reviews. I thought for a "cozy" game this actually had a lot going on to start with. But as you play it becomes easy and not something you have to worry about making mistakes. Its a perfect in between staying busy but not overwhelming. I liked all the extras and mini games and also feel like it plays at a good pace.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You know that mobile game that keeps you playing for hours? this is it. I played almost 30h in TWO DAYS, and know full well that I'm gonna keep playing until I get everything unlocked. Why? I have no idea, it's cookie clicker with some pizzazz.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →why is it so addicting omfg Played this for nearly 8hrs straight my first boot up. If you like looking at cute things, organizing, and checking off boxes, this is the game for you. The best part imo is that there's things to do besides the vending machines both to earn achievements and money. It definitely has that "one more day" draw to it. My only two thoughts: this was popped up when I was searching for language learning games (japanese). This won't help with learning a language any…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is unquestionably a grind, but if it's the kind of grind that scratches a particular itch in your brain, you won't be able to stop playing or think about anything else while playing it. It can be somewhat obtuse in terms of mechanics (why are the hot items not selling? Why are the otakus not flocking to my anime vending machines?) but it's still extremely satisfying even when mysterious. There are a variety of little mini games as well to help earn money in between your endless cycle…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very cute game! The core mechanic of restocking + managing a vending machine is very fun, and the different difficulty levels make it easy to just chill or have a bit of a challenge. Been having a ton of fun on chill mode just putzing around. I think a "shopping list" or notepad would be a helpful addition to keep better track of what I need to buy and where it's going, but even without that I'm having a great time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Refunded. Game crashes after 2-3 mins of gameplay. After crash, game saves are deleted. Game is very laggy and unplayable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game has a lot of potential but the reviews were right. - Time just passes too slow, with little to nothing to do. - Stocking mechanics could be done easier - Some keys feel abit clunky somehow. Ought to enable controller accessibility for smoother play. I’m using the ROG ally x and while I love the aesthetics and cozy aspect, it’s just too slow paced, not enough of goals and tasks to make me want to continue. Not for those who want a smooth play on handhelds. Refunded.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very strange incremental game with an identity crisis. It's more of an experience or ecosystem you immerse yourself in, than a typical game. I'm not sure how to rate this one… I've never given a game this many neutral ratings before, it's a new record for me. + Has controller support even though it says it doesn't. Controlling the cursor is a bit difficult though. I used mouse on the TV which worked ok. There are some shortcuts that require a keyboard, but you can do everything with just the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's really really good. i could not put it down for a full 7 hours once i picked it up. i'm slow to start up on these kinds of games, but there's so much to do- it took me some time to figure things out, but i'm having a blast with it. i love all the different assortments of things you can unlock, the upgrades, the cute little mini games. highly recommend, 10/10 cozy relaxation game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this game during the introduction sale for about $10 (Canadian) which is a pretty good deal for the amount of gameplay you get out of it. It's a chill management game that I can play while listening to podcasts/YouTube/streams. Almost 7 hours in and I'm still narrowing in on the perfect combination of items for my vending machines. The game has a few mini games spread out in the in-game world that keeps things interesting and either acts as a way to upgrade your vending machines or to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been waiting for this game for a while, played the demo multiple times, but it's not like the demo, and it takes casual out of the equation when you get a 'rival' that shows up and trashes your machines even if you have cameras. There's lag in building things where the game just stops, and if you don't know to check whatever the annoying person on the left is saying (see Rival), you can't camp for the night.

positive · AI labelView post →So happy for the full release! I played the demo earlier this year and got hooked immediately. Very cute, polished looking game with tons of tasks, goals, etc. to keep you busy and striving towards something. I like the minigames and side quests, though wish they had a little more explanation up front. The art style/aesthetic has to be one of my favorite features. The gameplay is great, but what a treat to look at while playing! :)
