The English translation is awful. It's completely disjointed from what's being said by the character in Japanese, and uses very out-of-date, unironically cringe words that only 40 year old millennials think is "hip". Since this game relies heavily on internet culture, it's absolutely essential to get the terminology/slang right. And nothing that they're saying in Japanese warrants the amount of slang they're using …

It had such a long hype period, but the final product’s quality is kinda mid. The rhythm parts r too easy for rhythm game vets, n the plot’s a bit messy. but im a casual player, n the art style hits my taste perfectly, so im glad to leave a positive review. The song list’s actually top tier lots of famous creators, plus tracks from musedash n touhou project, total banger lineup.

The English "localization" for this game has been completely butchered BEYOND RECOGNITION compared to all of the other language translations of the game. How do I know, you ask? Because I (and many others) have looked through the game's language/script files and found HORRENDOUS stuff. A few examples: The line "Yamero" (literal translation: "stop" or "stop it") has been replaced with "END FASCISM!", The line "Ryō noroi de shibaranaikara" (literal translation: "I won't bind you with a Command…

the people/group that handle the English translation completely misses the point of the game this game is a tribute/homage to late 2000s~early 2010s otaku culture, especially surrounding niconico douga and what did these translators do? splurge genz zoomer speech everywhere and straight up mistranslations literally boot up the game and you will get a sentence that says "how about turn your head around 360 degrees" and if you play it in English you are greeted with "how about a 360 no scope"…

Going to be honest the game is fun but the English translation is just horrible. There are sections that are spoken in english and the translation will still be wrong. One section you can clearly hear yunyun mention IT specialists and what do they translate IT specialist into, They translate it as "Tech bros" how the hell did you hear IT specialist and decide nah we're gonna go with tech bros. I really would implore the devs to drop the current localization team and fully redo the english…

Great game. Genuinely fantastic. Love it to bits. Probably the single worst localization I've ever seen in my life. And this is after they fixed the even worse one they had at launch. I'm not saying this from the point of view of a chud who gets mad at the mention of anyone who looks like they live in a different zip code - The localization adds unfitting and flat out incorrectly used tiktok and zoomer slang. This wouldn't be that bad a problem were it not for the fact that the original text is…

Extremely disappointed with the localization. This was my most anticipated game of the year since it looked to be a genuine love letter to denpa and otaku culture, yet the translation erases what makes the original script special. The only way the English version of the game could ever be playable is if they let another team that will actually stay faithful to the original localize it. Please find another team that actually cares about delivering a genuine product, because this feels like such…

The English "localization" of the game is a sabotaged mess. It's maliciously mistranslated to the point that it injects political slogans and phrasing into places where there were none, shoves in tons of modern slang when it's meant to be anachronistic, misses blatant 00's anime and game references, and changes staple niconico emoticons, all in a game that's supposed to be celebrating 2000s Japanese otaku culture. The game itself is cute and the gameplay is simple albeit fun, but unless you…

Please, for the love of all that is holy, fix the god awful localization. The game is great otherwise, but the English "localization" is really off-putting and ruins the integrity of the original message. As for a review of the game itself. The overall style of the game absolutely slaps and the story is alright. I was excited to try this - the art, music are all wonderful. But my God in heaven, not even an hour in and I can not stand the dialogue. I can't help but compare something like this to Steins;Gate (the original VN) which captures that early internet vibe very well - the translation team obviously put a lot of work into it. But this game? Millenial slop. Plain and simple. Whoever worked on this is so obviously out of touch and biased against the sort of culture that would lead to a game like…

Song choices, production, animation, voice acting, producers, etc. SSS+. I have been very excited for this game for over a year and truly love it. However, the English translation feels cheaply done with lack of detail considered. I didn't want to believe it from the screenshots I saw, but it was noticeable even within the first few minutes of the game. This game proves why Toby Fox was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ right when he said his vision would be compromised if he entrusted the work to someone without personally knowing the target language properly This problem was visible from the demo, and in the full game, it wasn't fixed but rather worsened exponentially.. The translation and language is plagued by hakujin women type stuff. Colonialism is okay, as long as everything is apart of their values. It is strange that this localization is done by supposed Japan lovers when they immediately want to overwrite and take over their media and their country. Absolutely depriving their designers and artists of any autonomy or freedoms. If you read this, leave comments about it on their discussion forums to cull their localization team and forcefully redo it.…

Localizers should not be fanfic writers, if you're playing in English and care for the culture and references that a game is paying homage to then you're completely missing out on the core experience. Decent game that may appeal to a very particular type of people, unfortunately those people (unless they are proficient enough in Japanese) will be detered by still awfull translation. Fanmade MTL patch does way better job than whatever bozos that robbed the devs for what they would call"translation" and any sane person with working eyes and working ears will call "completely made-up random words that have nothing to do with the original japanese script", to put it lightly

I gave them the benefit of the doubt iwth the demo and expected some fixes before launch because of how much backlash they received over the "translation" (which is more rewrite localization than a real translation). The developers knew this was going to be a problem and yet kept their translator and translation anyways. The script is full of bad translation and modern Gen-Z'isms that don't have a place in a game that is…

TL;DR: Could maybe recommend for casual rhythm game players but not for experienced/hardcore ones. The art direction, animation, content, and music are all fantastic but the game in my experience suffers from performance problems, note timing issues, and poor UI/UX, all of which remain mostly unchanged from the demo version. Yunyun Syndrome feels like the developers thought the concept would be able to carry the corpse of a half-assed rhythm game, which is just frustrating to see.…

Alright, this is work of art. It perfectly encapsulates a very distinct way of looking at the world, and the feeling that comes with it. Something that quietly reached a maximum intensity before the internet became mainstream. Qchan is our inner child. When we think of this concept of "inner child" we see some kid frolicking in the woods or eating ice cream at a theme park or something. But in reality we as children watched the world through the lens of social media. And all things…

Post-translation fix edit: Now that i can talk about the game with everyone being in the same line. It's a hard recommend if you're not into rhythm games already. The base game has a very small song list meaning that if you didn't invest into the DLC you're gonna be grinding the same small pool of songs over and over to get all endings. It got to a point were instead of playing the game i had the auto keyboard active and started doing something else as i was grinding. Seriously, at the…

Never played a rhythm game before but I've found this to be easy to get into and fairly forgiving. I like the songs, the presentation is generally fun, but many of the elements have not been properly explained at all. While I don't mind being left to figure things out, two hours into the game 2/3 stats seemed to be arbitrary (I later found out they weren't online, not from the game). Again, not a huge issue but I feel its fairly important to explain why the stats matter beyond meeting goals to…

Dragonbaby and loc-x-load are responsible for adding EN localizations. Game is great but as of now, I cannot recommend it until the horrendous English localizations are replaced. Hope JP companies will learn to find better translators one day.

Thank you for fixing most of the translation it was the only problem I saw with the game, I almost didn't buy it. However, since this like one of the few times dev listened I bought the game with all the DLCS. Furthermore, The game is a very fun rhythm I highly recommend playing the game. Also the art is really cute and I love the style. I personally like playing with the buttons bound to my fight stick the layout is nice larger buttons but more spacing between buttons. So far i really like the…

I have to agree with the others. This game, though incredibly good as a rhythm game and visual novel, has an English translation that is absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that spits on all the good parts of the game. I'm sorry. Maybe I'll come back to this later, but please reconsider...

Gameplay: You know what it is. A Rhythm game. Visual Novel Aspect of it? (English mind you, I have no clue on any other language, so please consider that): What are we doing here? When did we start inserting an agenda into other peoples work? This is actually an insult. I'm not refunding because I like the Dev and believe they are going to try and bring the original vision back to the EN script.
