What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 153 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (2,631 of 3,246 positive).
Many players compare it to Prison Architect, calling it a school-themed version. [1][2][3] Some reviewers find the gameplay shallow and lacking depth after a few hours. [4][5][6] Several players criticize Paradox for abandoning the game after acquisition. [7][8][9]

Wide and shallow gameplay, that's how I would describe this one. It's the same engine as Prison Architect and Rimworld, but without the depth. After a few iterations and schools, you start to reach the extent of what the game has to offer unlike PA and especially Rimworld. At a certain point, I just found myself starting the school year then hitting 3x speed before doing something entirely different like my laundry …

**Not Recommended** Academia: School Simulator is actually a good game. The developers at Squeaky Wheel Studio made a charming, addictive management game with a simple idea that works surprisingly well. Building a school, managing students and staff, expanding facilities, and watching everything slowly descend into organized chaos is genuinely fun. So why the negative review? Paradox Interactive. Paradox acquired …

Fun Little Management Game If you've played Prison Architect, you'll probably feel right at home with Academia: School Simulator. It has a very similar style of building, managing staff, and dealing with everything happening around your facility, but the school setting gives it a different feel. That said, I don't think it's quite as enjoyable as Prison Architect. There's something about the gameplay that doesn't …

Super fun and addictive game if you're into building and managing chaos. Starts off easy, but once you hit 500 students and half of them are sick, it turns into a full-blown warzone 😂 🔧 Tips for new players: – Always add Free Time early in the schedule or your students will lose their minds – Enough bathrooms = less pee on the school flagpole (true story) – Assign patrol areas to monitors or bullying gets out of …

Recommended only on a high discount. It's a fun time sink, but it does feel unpolished and unfinished. It felt like I hit the limit of how much I could expand my school way too quickly, leaving little to do after a certain point other than reset.

The ‘game’ is acquiring skills and knowle by dge so you can produce a paper , the metagame is ‘producing a paper’ and that’s all you’re marked on, hence cheating and shortcutting that means you win the metagame while opting out of the game.

That's about all I know, but the art style on the cover art looks really cool! The concept is intriguing, so I'm excited to jump in!
positive · AI labelView post →I played Dodgeball Academia! The game took around 13 hours to beat. This was an awesome game! The gameplay was a ton of fun, and the dodgeball theme was unique! The game also had a chill story with a cool cast of characters, and the art style was bright and colorful! It was a blast to play through!
positive · AI labelView post →In terms of the vibe of Dodgeball Academia, it's pretty chill! The game revolves around a dodgeball school, it's pretty lighthearted and doesn't take itself too seriously! The game has a bumping OST as well, and I really like the art style, it's colorful and looks super cool! It's an awesome vibe!
positive · AI labelView post →I love the dialogue segments in Dodgeball Academia! The game has no spoken dialogue, but does a fantastic job of presenting the dialogue using audio and visual effects! My favorite is when a character yells, the screen shakes with a punchy sound effect! They're super entertaining dialogue segments!
positive · AI labelView post →My first impressions of Dodgeball Academia are: it's super cool! The game is an RPG with a dodgeball theme, it's really unique! The battles take place in real-time, and characters are able to use abilities and counter incoming balls! Some matches have a ton of action on screen, it's fun so far!

neutral · AI labelView post →Game lacks the necessary components to make the player has the desire to play it more than approximately 15-20 hours. Some of the actions in the game is bugged and overall game needs more to evolve. THEREFORE I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GAME TO BE PLAYED. I REGRET ALL THE TIME I PLAYED THIS GAME.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It´s like Prison Architect. Same idea, different ages.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is shallow and I easily lose interest. Would be worth at 75% off the current price. Gave the game another 5 hours, still don't like it. Too shallow and animations are not that great for the price.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The second one, is literally how the League of Villains was founded, and named, in _My Hero Academia_. Yes, Mr Handy plays _League_, and so does his lizard bestie, Spinner.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Prison Architect but for a Private school. 8/10, I just wish there was a College/Uni version or more dlc similar to how PA did.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game-play isn't as smooth as that in Prison Architect, which is a vastly superior game. The music is obnoxious, and the entire game feels slower and stiffer.

neutral · AI labelView post →It is dispiriting that we have finally reached the point where the pariah that is TurnItIn, the veritable trojan horse of extractive data farming edtech capitalism, is now blatantly telling universities that all student work will be used for their (proprietary, for profit) AI 'training' data. That they have been using student work for their search bot training for decades is now besides the point. That TurnItIn never had any purpose other than to convince academics it would help prevent…

neutral · AI labelView post →I’ve noticed that the number 4 is very positive in my media experiences. Season 4 of My Hero Academia, & True Blood, & Game of Thrones, & 90s Sailor Moon are all great examples of lucky 4’s. I once bought a manga numbered 4 in a set & it became my favorite volume. That’s to name just a few.
neutral · AI labelView post →Full of bugs and glitches. It crashes, freezes, and feels totally unfinished and broken.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was a good game, kind of wish there would be mods to allow more options beyond the basic game but still fun.

neutral · AI labelView post →Clunky, poor UI. Too many clicks to get the actions/items. You spend most you time finding things in menus, not selecting and designing or managing. In Prison Architect or Rimworld, I enjoy desining, architecture, management of people of resources, actually using my brain doing these. Academia feels like finding a random file among hundreds in a folder. It's icon/text finding. Frustrating UI. Time is spent on the boring and uninteresting things. I love the theme (education), but the UI kills…
