Game has beautiful visuals and is fun to play. I found the character you are playing to be a bit annoying. The game for the most part is not bad. The reason why I cannot recommend it is because it has a bug near the end where after you awake in your room and see the square puzzle, it is impossible to solve. I say this because I watched a streamer play that part several times and copied him exactly multiple times, …

GREAT indie game. REVEIL is incredibly immersive with absolutely beautiful visuals. The plot is very engaging and the storytelling kept me hooked throughout. It had some genuinely scary moments, along with fun puzzles that aren't too incredibly difficult. This isn't a game with cheap jumpscares around every corner, and the jumpscares that are in this are used very tastefully. This game just has such an fantastic …

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5 stars! Absolutely loved this game. REVEIL pulled me in from the first minute with its atmosphere, storytelling and overall quality. The eerie circus setting mixed with psychological horror creates a unique vibe that sticks with you. It’s creepy without relying on cheap jumpscares. The puzzles are well integrated, not too easy, not frustrating, just right for keeping you engaged without pulling …

Somewhat of a mixed bag for me. I found it to be more of a walking simulator than anything. I also disliked the the two parts where you search for items while being hunted. Some of the puzzles were good while others were trial and error. It is also extremely linear. 5/10

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reveil is an incredibly underrated horror game with multiple endings. The game plays well and has a mostly polished feel. The story is fantastic, and the voice acting is well done. The graphics are above average, and at times pretty good. Reveil plays a bit like a scarier Layers of Fear, but has more puzzles of varying difficulty. My only complaint is chapter 4 is a bit buggy. In the heap of slop that has spread across Steam in the recent years, Reveil is actually a hidden gem.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First of all, this game is not 'Trash' or something like that. It's just not a good game. There are a few cool scenes, different endings and an awesome voice actor. The reason for my bad review are two things: 1. The hunt for collecting items destroys the atmosphere. You can't just walk around and explore, if you don't want to miss a collectible. That's annoying. 2. The minigames of the first chapters are the only 'challenges' of the game... But they are boring af and the controls feels…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is probably not bad but I can't recommend it. The "story" here is that a man keeps repeatiing sequence where he wakes up and looks for his family members, but with each repetition his "life" keeps falling apart more and more. It was interesting at first but it got old fast. Everythimg becomes more and more ridicoulous with each repetition. This part of game really didnt click with me. Also I encoutered bug where puzzle woudn!t accept corect solution, I had to exit to menu and load…

neutral · AI labelView post →Reveil has a nice atmosphere, good visuals, and decent voice acting. But the story, which is the heart of any walking simulator, is lacking. One big problem in the first chapters (before the big reveal that happens towards the last third of the game) is that the main character feels very dumb. I mean, clearly there are very weird and sinister things happening to him, and yet he keeps asking himself "What's going on? Is this a nightmare?". But he basically brushes these things off and says…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The problem with me is the fact that I am still mentally stuck in times when psychological horror meant a Silent Hill. Perhaps a Siren. Therefore, I approach the genre with significantly heightened expectations regarding the narration, storyline and characters. As a result, I have formed a list of red flags that make me instantly detest a horror game the moment I see one. Some of the more prominent examples are: - the psychological horror tag itself, especially if immediately followed by: - a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While this game isn't bad... The others were right. IT IS lacking stuff. The scenery is beautiful. There are collectables to obtain. The Voice Actor did a good job and I didn't find him annoying at all. At the same time... It wasn't scary... As in... I hadn't laughed once. :< Not that every horror game needs to overly scary to be good, but... Not even a teensy weensy jump scare...? Darn. Oh well. Ah right! There WAS a funny part! When the *enemy* on the train pops up ahead and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a walking simulator with 0 horror and a story that makes 0 sense. Should be $1.99
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't recommend even on sale. The entire beginning of the game has jump scares that are designed to NOT hurt you so you lower your guard but then all of a sudden, you die if a new enemy see's you? That part was easy enough to get around (the art loft). But later, a mannequin somehow teleports from very far away to "it's right on your @$$." and if you don't do the train lever actions PERFECT, you die over and over and over. Because they made 1 button to interact (left click) but a different…

Welcome to Reveil, where Walter Thompson can barely take a step without muttering, "Is this another puzzle?" - Open a door? Puzzle. - Pick up an object? Feels suspiciously like a puzzle. - Think you’re getting answers? Nope—more puzzles. - Breathe? Unclear, but probably a puzzle. This game doesn’t just give…

neutral · AI labelView post →My Score: 4/5 One of the most beautifully designed walking simulators I have come across. Not sure I fully understood the story in the end, but the journey kept me engaged and admiring the graphics. I feel there was a lot of detail put into the design which made it very realistic. Even with an older AMD card it ran very well.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played one last scary game for the season, so if you're in the mood for a creepy carnival and some surreal mind fuckery, my playthrough of REVEIL is now on YouTube! youtu.be/r_FGDfqnd8c

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely loved it. A bit twisted but the story reveal thru chapters, each different but with similar elements was really cool. The end justifies the means. You'll know what I mean when you get there. Definitely do NOT read ahead or you will majorly spoil it. While it's part walking sim, it's really adventure, a bit of horror, a few puzzles, some awesomely creepy circus and carnival haunted houses and rides and bit of stanley parable with a touch of hogwarts moving staircases for a minute.…

positive · AI labelView post →Very fortunate to share that a second game I worked on got released today! Reveil has come out on Steam, Playstation and Xbox, and I'm the voice actor for Martha and one of the Artificial Voices (Ha, take that AI) 😆❤️
neutral · AI labelView post →Finished a horror game called Reveil which I really enjoyed. It uses every horror trope and cliché under the sun, but it does so with a ton of quality and atmosphere. And it really gets intriguing towards the end. Looks and runs great on the Steam Deck. It's a short one though at only about 4-5h.
positive · AI labelView post →I won't lie, this game really threw me for a loop during the last part of the game and I really enjoyed that. But I'm just not sure if the insanely mediocre build up is really worth it for a cool twist ending segment. As someone who likes horror "walking simulators" this one is just not great. The biggest issue being the protagonists absolute refusal to ever shut up ever. Like no disrespect to the va of course but it's so grating to have him constantly comment on EVERYTHING and basically tell…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played a lot of bad games but this is is beyond abysmal. I can't believe this passes as anything but an unmitigated disaster. Bad acting, horrible story, close to no gameplay, everything in this game is below bargain basement. Avoid like the plague!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Solid horror walking sim with multiple endings, it has a really nice setting and some trippy illusions with the spaces, the puzzles are ok, the only 2 that might be a tad frustrating could be the 2 chases the game has, but once you learn the trick they are easy the mannequin chase hardest part is : using the lever to detach the train cart, the trick is pulling from the top of the lever after using the lever. and the second one is in the woods just run to the shinning spots were the orbs are,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed this game (got it on sale through Humble Bundle) I loved the music, atmosphere, symbolism, & story twist. I agree that the voice acting of the main guy could be improved at some points BUT honestly, to me, it fit the theme of being disconnected/out of touch from one's own reality and thinking that everything happening is just a bad dream *Be warned that are some scenes were you have to avoid/"Run" away from the monster but they were pretty laid back. I don't usually like that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →REVEIL is the spiritual successor of THE PARK and LAYERS OF FEAR. It's a horror walking simulator that forgets it's a horror walking simulator halfway through and shoots itself in the foot by cramming in some very tedious gameplay. While I enjoyed it at first, I can't really recommend it - especially not at full price. PROS: - pretty graphics. The game looks good and has some interesting visuals (the cardboard cutout party near the end was really striking) - I liked the big twist. The overall…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →obscure puzzles in my spooky games are not to be tolerated.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has some cool graphics and locations, but...why is it so expensive? Absolutely not worth the price, the storyline could have larger potential. The game starts off boring and ends up boring. It's empty and unless you wanna look at locations, there's no point of playing this. The same can be said about Shift 87. Do not play unless you wanna bore yourselves to death. 4/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't expect much from this game but holy! The details of those assets are INSANE, and it feels abundant to have various scenes switching. And even with the same scene, its states vary, corresponding with the status of protagonist's mind. The puzzles are beginner friendly, speaking from an invested horror puzzle game player. My small complain is just the chasing scene was hard for controller lol. I have to switch to keyboard to pass that specific level. I originally not liking the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Walking sim, similar to a real life horror fun house .. reminds me of the movie “Insidious” too. I thoroughly enjoyed it!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →REVEIL, it focuses on story, puzzles, and exploration. So, definitely use walking-simulator style. The puzzles are pretty simple, but I was impressed by the world itself. It's visually appealing and attention to details. Chapter 1: Funhouse, is the best stage. They really let me play around with the space, like the Mirror Maze. But don’t forget the eerie and disturbing parts. The horror elements are minor and no jumpscares (I swear), but the atmosphere itself is enough to make you feel…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've gotta say, this is a weird balance. Overall, this game is incredibly okay. It's not good, it's not bad, it's certainly not scary, it has all of the hallmarks of a horror game technically, and yet it still falls short. Spoiler free, but let me try to sum up with highs and lows here. The highs - Graphically, this looks great. I suspect the lighting does a LOT of the heavy lifting. The general scene building and slight surreal scenes really look stunning. This does suffer a little from…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I absolutely loved this game! Yeah, it's kinda short if you're not going for all the achievements and endings, but the atmosphere is incredible, the story is unlike any I've played before, and it's just so much fun at times. There are some points where I struggled, mainly the stealth parts which sucked, but aside from those (and they're a VERY small part of the game), I loved everything about this. They made something really special here.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →GOOD IDEAS, Missed execution for me. RANK = 6/10 i honestly thought this was gonna be great, and while it did have its moments... I GOT BORED !!! Best part was making our way thru the FUNHOUSE but only to be derailed min later with constant escape room puzzles. Immediately Lost all the horror vibes and appeal. Spent 20mins locked in a tiny bedroom with a RED BOX that I couldnt find anything for; no prompt, nothing to activate in the room, yet had multiple items to aquire in order to unlock the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quality. Pretty environments and a captivating story but the few puzzles were very straightforward Bonus points for it having a monkey plushie
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gonna be playing Reveil tonight I know absolutely nothing about this game so I’m ready to be scared! #twitch 8-10 CST
neutral · AI labelView post →It's so close to being good. Mostly felt like a carnival haunted house fever dream, which was fun. I didn't much care for the "sneak/run past the monster" levels. But the constant voiceover exposition and forcefed logical plotlines really break the dreamlike qualities. If that doesn't bother you, grab it on sale. But I found myself losing interest as I played.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The last 1/4 of the game is somewhat interesting, but the juice isn't worth the squeeze given that the rest is slow and predictable exposition with just an occasional QTE section that doesn't work with the ponderous controls. Shame, as the art design and execution is actually quite good.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →REVEIL feels like stepping into someone else’s memories and slowly realising they’ve been left out in the rain too long. The entire game has this uneasy dreamlike quality where nothing quite feels stable. Rooms change, reality bends in on itself, and the circus setting somehow manages to be both beautiful and deeply unsettling at the same time. The further you go, the more it feels like you’re wandering through grief, guilt, memory, and denial stitched together with flickering lights and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm really not build for horror games this was torture for me and the man wouldn't shut the hell up. The world build itself is very beautiful but I had to leave it in the forest sequence cause no way in hell im gonna wander around in that pitch dark forest trying to find objects while the character keeps talking in the most annoying way.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Inconsistent gameplay and story. Goes from safe eerie exploration to survival horror with no warning, prep, or tutorial. And it's buggy: got stuck in a loop on the train with a killer mannequin with zero time to evade.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reveil is a horror short game that can be played in a few hours. Liked the atmosphere and story. A few jump scares so be aware if you aren't fond of those. Overall, fulfilled my creepy environment/horror needs.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a mixed review from me. I'm really happy I didn't drop it and refund, but oh man was I close. The first half the game is just not my jam. That ending was so worth sticking with it, but man was it tough to get through. Pick it up when it's on sale and give it a shot and maybe you'll find the ending worth it too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This psychological thriller has great graphics and a good story with a hell of a twist at the end that I didn't expect. I just wish it had more jumpscares and more horror aspects. Some aspects of the game reminded me of Layers of Fear and Outlast a bit, but those two games outdid this one on the psychological horror aspect. I enjoyed replaying the last part of the last chapter to get all 5 different endings for the achievements. Had a hard time finding all the collectibles in each chapter even…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting game, sort of reminded me of Pools, but I liked the story. I do wish the story was a bit longer it took me only 3 hours but I loved it overall.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was solid. It is definitely a walking simulator game, not much happens. But I do think REVEIL makes up for some of that by making so many things interactable, not to mention some head-scratching puzzles. There are multiple endings but I really only cared to play through it once. For the majority of the time I thought it was a straight down the middle "mid" game, but the final act added some twists that made it more favorable. The graphics are amazing, but this also requires a high end PC…

neutral · AI labelView post →The aesthetics and atmosphere are definitely the highlights of this game. It has such a striking visual style and manages to create a genuinely unsettling atmosphere throughout. That said, the game definitely felt a little too long. I kept wondering: why do I have to do the same thing three times? Some of the puzzles also felt unnecessarily frustrating, especially when the correct code was not accepted right away. And while I liked the idea of having different endings, I did not realize there…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reveil is a short little walking simulator with a horror vibe, but it just didn't hook me. I forced myself to finish it for the sake of finishing it, because I knew it was a short game (-5h). The story makes absolutely no sense and the controls feel incredibly heavy but at least it is visually pleasing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great game 10000/10 graphics are amazing, story that twist puzzles hard but still brilliant artwork
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story in this game is insane. I enjoyed it and recommend to those who like a dark story line.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fantastic horror walking sim with some easy but fun puzzles.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The overall experience is mediocre, mainly because it barely works as a horror game. There isn’t a single jumpscare, and while the game does a decent job with psychological elements, it never really feels scary. The tension just doesn’t build, why? well.... Most of the time, it feels like the game wants to be horror but never fully commits to it through the character himself. maybe the chase sequence at the house with the lady running after me. The game is actually okay. The story and plot…
