What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 13 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (101 of 105 positive).
Players praise the game's blend of tactical RPG and action, with fluid animations and pixel art. [1][2][3] Some note it builds on Red Ronin's gameplay while introducing new ninja-inspired mechanics. [1][4][5] A few mention technical issues like stutters or glitches, but overall reception is positive. [6][7]

Really noticeable stutters any time you slash an enemy

Arashi Gaiden is at the same time the spiritual sucessor of Wired Dream's Red Ronin and a new entry in the Pocket Bravery universe. And this is a match made in heaven, if by heaven you like to see pixel blood and guts spread all over the place while you strategically dash around traps and through enemies. As a fan of Red Ronin, I am amazed by how this game perfects Red Ronin gameplay with new ninja-inspired features …

Arashi Gaiden is a wonderful game! It combines tactical RPG mechanics with action. The gameplay perfectly matches the game's theme. You truly feel like you're a ninja in action, and every move can be decisive. High-quality pixel art, fluid animations, and oriental-themed music with incredible loops—Arashi Gaiden is definitely a sensational experience! I highly recommend it!

Arashi Gaiden is a compact but inventive tactical action game that manages to make turn-based combat feel surprisingly fast and aggressive. Developed by Statera Studio and Wired Dreams Studio and published by Nuntius Games and Vsoo Games, the game puts players in control of Arashi, a deadly ninja whose greatest weapon is his ability to rapidly move through enemies. Rather than relying on traditional turn-based …

Very clever gameplay, interesting puzzles and neat pixel art, good price, good game. And after a while you have to be precise like a ninja

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Starting with the story, this is a game whose core doesn’t exactly lie in the narrative — and yet, it’s very cool how Shinji Arashi is portrayed, as well as each boss, through the optional scrolls contextualized both within each stage and in the dojo. I understood it as a strong narrative about the inevitability of evil and the proportionality of punishment. Without getting into major spoilers, the plot offers an interesting discussion on the application of the Law of Talion — that old “eye…

neutral · AI labelView post →Stunning presentation, as expected from Statera. Beautiful pixel art and music all around. It plays like Red Ronin, another game by Wired Dreams, and Keen: One Girl Army, all three made in Brazil. Unlike Keen, however, it's impossible not to take damage, which was a bit confusing for me at first, until I got used to the idea that the stages aren't puzzles with perfect solutions. And later I found out that, like in Red Ronin, there are also real-time elements amidst the turn-based formula, some…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Somehow it doesn't feel like a Turn Based when you start to move around aiming for better Ranks. The game-play is well thought along with the boss fights. Cool Roster of unlock-able skills, very nice pixel art. Overall, it's a great game.

positive · AI labelView post →Competition for indie games is severe. There are so many great games that I just don't have time to play anything mediocre and doesn't hook me. I thought I might return this to get some more money in my wallet for a better game, but as I kept playing I realized I couldn't do that, this is a great game. I realized that after I discovered that it feels exactly like a combo of two of my recent favorite indies; Cramped Room Of Death and Shogun Showdown. This is more first impressions because I…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was a little disappointed that it glitched at the end of my play session. I was supposed to talk to the kitten to exit, but it happened twice, and I couldn't continue. Perhaps it's a bug, or maybe I missed one of the tasks I had to do earlier. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2798215843 (Time 03:14:11 at 04:16:54) I commend the beautiful art in this game; you can see the love that went into it. I love the challenge of having to think about the best moves to defeat the enemies—it's very…
