I generally like atelier games, but this one was surprisingly frustrating. There's no fast travel between locations, only within a spot on the map, which means if you want to go from one side of the map to another looking for specific materials, you have to enter the spot next to you, hop to a landmark near the exit towards the next spot in the correct direction, walk off the map to the next spot, hop to another …

Atelier Firis is the first game in a long while where I can't say a definitive Yes or No based on Steam's recommendation. I REALLY wish there was a middle option, but alas. I've got a lot to say so here's the short version. TLDR: Firis has a lot of good, but for every good thing you'll come across a bad. Atelier Firis is a different approach to the original Mysterious trilogy. It had a time limit, which isn't present in the other games. It didn't focus on a particular mysterious object, but instead what is mysterious is the world in Firis' eyes. It experimented with a larger world than any previous entry. The means of mastering alchemy is odd to say the least. It was extremely ambitious. They took a lot of risks …

Compared to Sophie, this game improved on some things and took steps backwards on others. It's not without flaws. One thing that it really nailed though is the theme it went for, "journey". You don't do laps around a main town to pop every event, you have a destination you need to get to within a (generous) amount of time. You decide what detours you think you can take. After accomplishing the main goal, you go back and visit the places you missed while getting new stuff to do. It can feel…

This game has so many pain points that add tiny amounts of irritation, from the way that fast travel works (and doesn't), the way that they chose not to add item registration at all, to the relatively pointless timer they attached to the first part of the game with no sub-parts to even give you an idea of how your pacing is relative to the overall time, and a handful of other small annoyances. I could forgive all of those. I cannot forgive the absolutely horrid stat scaling this game has. You…

It's more Atelier. I'd recommend it to fans of the series, sure. If you're a newcomer, please steer far away from this entry and play either Sophie, Lydie/Suelle, Ayesha, Escha/Logy, or Meruru, and then a couple more titles in the series, before you even think about diving into this game. It is the messiest/worst game in the series, but the formula still works on its own.

Big mehh on this one. It's the worst game of the Mysterious series. Tedious, a open world with a timer (gives you a lot of time don't worry, but still a timer in a open world thats the issue) too open ended with no direction or story between places, horrible item profiency, no item duping (i think)?. It's a dull experience in general for me

Probably one of the worst Atelier games i have played. First of all this is the 2nd game Mysterious series coming from playing Sophie which was relaxing this game is completely different first off this game's theme focuses on journey but teleport are only available on the map that you are currently in and it to limited places as well meaning that you have to run the entire map just to move to the next area if you so wish to and it takes god knows forever to even move to another area. The DX version of Firis is awful. I played the original version quite a bit, but do not even remotely remember getting as angry at the game as this version made me. Firis was never good, but also not as bad as DX makes it look like. This version must've changed a few things for the worse. The additional things are also as lazy as they can be. Example: A barrel ship. You need to sacrifice bombs for fuel, so it works. But fuel isn't saved, so if you ever load your game, no more fuel. It's also…

Worst game in the series. Play Ryza, or the Arland sub series instead. The main focus of the game - Alchemy - is more of a chore than a fun thing to figure out. Unlike other games in the series, where you have an alchemy level, in this game your have a PER RECIPE Alchemy Level as well as your own Alchemy Level. Firis' Alchemy Level just acts as a gate for what you can and cannot synthesize. You must make the same recipe, over and over, to get the Per Recipe AL. And due to the "Tetris…

It's been a VERY long time since I've had quite such a bad time with an Atelier game as I had with Firis. To start, the game makes a terrible first impression, you're stuck in the stupid cave for over an hour, which is all just tutorial stuff. I completely understand why Firis wanted to leave so badly. Then, you exit the cave, and get thrown into a humongous gathering area compared to what came before this game. You explore a little, and continue on on your path into the next area. This is…

It's hard to rate this as fully positive, so this is going to be a mixed review. First off, I really liked the story of Firis and her sister Liane going on a journey together, as well as seeing Sophie and Plachta again. I'll always be happy to see Sophie anywhere. The open world was decent. It's nice that the developers experimented with that. It's a nice change from the rest of the series. When I started this game, it was genuinely boring. Basically, you took control of a girl whose home town, Ertona, situates in a cave complex. You just run around and talked to various people for an hour or so. It was dull and I had to be determined to see what else this game has to offer. And then when Firis, the girl, began her journey. The game started to grow on me: some random monsters could eliminate my party, the item synthesis system began to show its complexity and fun,the equipment…

I "won" this game. I got certification in time. I am still not even close to actually done. The "time limit" scared the crap out of me coming from Ryza -> Sophie -> Firis. It's not scary. I think you'd almost have to TRY to fail to do so. Or forget there's a limit somehow. Such a huge world. Alchemy is fun, soothing, enjoyable. Thumbs up and stuff. Like 20% is still a very good investment.

It's good. Lively characters, beautiful environments and competent gameplay. Open world and level design really gives you an incredible sense of vastness though there's really not that much more interactivity to it than the previous entries. You really do need a guide for post-game though since the event flags are programmed in weird ways that they won't trigger until other unrelated events happen first. Basically, go clear Liane's story asap after post game so you don't waste so much time…

I gave it my best shot, but it was a chore to get through the main goal(License exam). This game suffers from the same problem Ryza does; it's just too open ended. Unlike the majority of the series, there's no real goals or paths here, you're free to go and do what you want, and the series isn't built for that at all. It's neat to have big open areas, but other than gathering, what's there to do in them? There's nothing to really set your sights on. I guess the only thing that kinda qualifies…

The second game of the Mysterious series, Firis changes a lot, while keeping some of the basics that Sophie had. Now, the game kiiinda has one main objetive from the start, but in the end it's even more open-ended than Sophie. While there's a time limit, it's a really generous one, and the game lets you explore a lot. Some things worked really well, some not so much, but in general, still a really cool, chill game to play.

Firis is a bit different from other Atelier games in both good and bad ways. The main story, which is passing an alchemist exam within 360 days, can end quickly if a player desires. There is no more story quest after that. Given the fact that you cannot fully explore the whole world map and pass the exam, it means the game expects you to play on after passing the exam. And that creates a new problem: The lack of goals. In other words, after the main quest, this game becomes a sandbox JRPG…

This isn't a recommendation per se as much as it is an 'I'm not going to stop you if you're set on playing it'. The highs are high, and the lows are... quite low. Other reviews touch on the specifics better. (Luckily, the one thing I anticipated being a problem - the time limit - just... wasn't. I had over 120 days left having grabbed every recommendation letter.) This is very much a 'guide dang it' game - there's a lot to see, and the game is not proactive in telling you how to see it.…

It's a good cozy game, but the first half has a timer, it's lenient but still something I could do without. The timer made me not want to do any of the character stories in order to not fail, so as an Atelier game this one is quite weirdly structured.

Well, it's an Atelier game, what else are you expecting? I can totally understand the mixed feelings some people get from this game, personally I adopted a mindset how to approach clearing this game and it turn out to be a good one. In another timeline I might dislike this game, but gladly this isn't the case. Game is fun.

I played Atelier Firis and a hate time pressure. So i didn't touched any other Atelier again and i don't know when it shift to more action gameplay. But as long as this has no time limit for something, i would give it a chance. Starting with the Ryza games would probably to much for a series that first game disapointed me. So new start, maybe. Need to see more.

Open world Atelier. It's pretty much suit theme journey. Great song Great art Great design, Too bad this one have bad balance battle & synthesis also don't have duplicate system that minus point a lot...But Firis is so cute so it's fine.

Atelier firis.... so far I'm not enjoying myself much with the mysterious trilogy TBH. this game is riddled with very strange decisions all around. I can see they were very focus on the "journey" part of the game as a mechanic which could explain the bad decision for fast travel, making them inconvenient, since you still need to walk to another area to fast travel to the end of that area, and so on. your party members follow the same recipe as they did on Sophie, 1) say hello to the MC 2)ask…

The time limit is a bit of a PITA, and it sometimes locks on startup in fullscreen forcing you to jiggle the settings a little (don't ask me why this works, it shouldn't), but the game itself is solid.
