Autopsy itself was great and I had fun with it. I do wish it leaned more into being an actual autopsy simulator, but the story was interesting overall, even if the main character complained a bit too much. Just as I was really getting into it and enjoying the experience, it abruptly ended with no real payoff. That was disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend buying it unless it’s under $5.

I genuinely don't understand the mixed reviews for this game. I thought it was excellent. The information and mechanics on autopsies are actually pretty true to life (within the parameters of video games) as you can make them. The story was pretty interesting too. My first impressions of this game started out strong. I was very intrigued by the different methods used and the initial woes of the protagonist. I assumed that after the Prologue that the hints would ease off, leaving us to our own devices to determine the cause of death. Nope. What followed was an extremely hand-holdy game that gave no freedom for deduction or the slightest spark of brainpower. Each choice was linear and had to be undertaken in the precise order the game dictated – down to…

I don't normally review video games but I had to in this case. No, it's not for good reasons. If by some chance the people behind Autopsy Simulator happen to see this: please take this as constructive criticism. The vast majority of this game isn't an autopsy simulator, it's a walking simulator without waypoints. The majority of the time spent playing this game's story mode will be spent just walking around looking for random things, often without any indication where they are. The maps are…

I want to love this game, i really do. However, the story goes from mildly interesting to certainly infuriating. AO mode is a whole other level of annoying, even after becoming familiar with the quirks of it i feel as though they shove evidence in your face to confuse you - i.e. history of stroke? blood clots in the brain with substantial tissue damage? nah, its a murder bro. After a bit of TLC i can see this game becoming a true one of a kind masterpiece, but as it stands currently i…

The team working on the game wanted to name it "WOOKIE Autopsy Simulator," but the suits at LucasFilm thought it would sell better with "Chewbacca" in the title. The whole issue could have been avoided by listening to the creatives.

This game has so much potential, mostly in freeplay mode. I absolutely love medical horror, and the details are spot on. I want to love this so much. But I can't. The gameplay itself gets clunky, and you can't dissect multiple organs in freeplay mode, which bothers me. There's also not much variety in freeplay mode, it's the same cadavers over and over again.

Great story mode with tons of mechanics to determine cause of death. However, AO mode is absolutely lazy and garbage. Majority of the mechanics are taken out (blood tests, weighing organs, etc.) the cause of death is recycled and feels more like a guessing game than anything else, and the exact same corpses are given every time you work on a new one. I thought it was a glitch... no. They give you the same 3 corpses with the same (and irrelevant) wounds which make it almost useless to perform an…

So repetitive and disappointing. As someone who's obsessed with forensics and everything morbid, I had high-ish hopes. The story mode was pretty good, though nothing original and the ending is abrupt for the build up. The best thing was the voice acting (though the main character talks way too much and I feel like nobody told the actor where which line will go because he goes from terrified to bored instantly). The corpses seem pretty anatomically accurate and the autopsy cases in the main…

(putting this here because I have seen no warnings in the game or on the steam page) There's a lot of good idea's in this game, unfortunately a lot of bad choices were also made. As many reviews state, the autopsy portion is absolutely amazing, but the game mechanics are horrible after the 2nd chapter. There is no horror aspect because I was more annoyed than scared at anything. Honestly the worst and best part of the story was the guy that got his penis bitten off as that was shocking. After that the game just was annoying and I had to look up guides to figure out things as the game didn't tell me the next step or I knew the next step yet it took a hundred random…

I want to like this game. I love elements of it! I think it's got a great level of detail and I would be very interested in a slightly different version of this game. Changes i would make: Eliminate the current story. It's hacky. It feels like it was written by someone who doesn't know anything about grief or mental health or mental health medication. The horror angle doesn't work well at all. I found the story more tedious than anything else. Tedium is the core of this game's issues -…

lots of people were complaining about the "guided" style (like a walking/click sim where u cant make mistakes).. i can see that, but i found it nonetheless to be very interesting told (since most of us wont know much about practical "realistic" autopsy).. so i think full narrative is okay if labeled upfront to the game; especially when on sale! problem is, me (and at least 3 others posts) encountered a gamebreaking bug (first anatomy; after incision, skin flaps cant be moved), which forces you…

I will preface this with I have only purchased this for and played through the Autopsy Only mode. I cannot comment on the other modes. The game leaves a lot to guesswork. The random cases are good and varied but overall I think that the pacing is way too slow. The Mini games get redundant fast and the writing of the findings are painfully slow. I got this game for the autopsy only aspect. I may update this review if I get around to the story mode. For the autopsy only mode, I enjoyed the fun brain teasers each autopsy has provided so far. Some deaths and manner of them seem obvious, but others can be tricky to pinpoint. The jiggle physics of the organs during dissection made me laugh too. I would recommend the autopsy only mode if you want a semi-realistic walkthrough of an autopsy while also having no psychological horror or…

It would be nice if they added more variety and capabilities to the autopsy, especially in the autopsy only mode. This game is very limited in what it offers. Though I will say, the story mode is not bad. If they continue adding content and tweaks, I would recommend this game. Right now, I cannot recommend the game as it has a ways to go before it feels like a genuine pathologist/autopsy simulator.

was really hoping for more, but this really isn't a simulator at all. there's a plot of SOME kind but most of the gameplay just revolves around the annoying MC handholding you through autopsies. oh and occasionally weird spooky things happen and you have to take your medication so they stop happening, because for some reason the developers felt this game was missing a twelve year old's idea of schizophrenia

I love the concept and what it has going for it so far, but the Autopsy Only Mode needs more variety of cadavers and deaths. Less accidents and more murders. Give us some stand alone munted stories. The story has a bit more variety in cadavers AND causes of death so we know it's possible for them to do. The story itself was very gripping initially as there were many possibilities as to what the twist would be but it ultimately fell flat. My biggest gripes however are the laboratory practices…

i would give it a 6 out of 10 - the fact that the examiner has to take pills regularly is kind of irritating. The horror element is not as scary. Story line is not very interesting but the Anatomy part of the game is! I feel it could use a bit more detail as well as some modernisation and maybe even throw in some actual police interaction. If you like a simple, short game that's something very different then sure. I wouldn't go so far as to call it a simulator though.

The game is too short, and the gameplay is kinda lame. It has two modes, story mode and autopsy only mode. The story mode has jump scares here and there, the voice acting is good but the plot itself is a bit lame. Autopsy only mode is very repetitive, there's only like 3 bodies, each time the scars on the body will change to match their cause of death, you'll get bored very quickly. I finished the story in less than 5 hours, it really doesn't offer too much content.

I like the idea of the game however if you are working through the story line the smallest thing will keep you from moving forward. I would Continuously get to the end of one chapter just to have the game stop without an ability to save. This would cause you to exit and restart the full chapter, over and over again. DO NOT BUY UNTIL this is resolved.

The story is not that great, just a bit scary with a non-sens end. The only autopsy mode is not great either, took me 5 try to get only one cause correct, not even both of them. You have a car accident and a trauma with hemoragy in your brain but no you are dead because you had CN in your blood and of course its not a homicide, you got it but you don't even know how. It made me lay on my bed for a few minutes for recover, and even so it ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me over enogh to have to take a break from the game. Some scenes were unbearable, when you had a motion blur effect (even if you turned off on the menu), and had to fetch items on the Office. This needs to be fixed asap.

NOT worth $25. Not even worth buying on discount. As someone who gets scared easily from horror games, this game was predictable, the storyline was boring and I got easily tired of listening to "Doctor" and addict Jack Hanman yap or whine about anything. I found myself laughing at the parts that were supposed to be scary, and the Autopsy only mode sucks too. The ending of the game isn't an ending, it is unresolved and ends on a cliffhanger. ♥♥♥♥ game, don't buy.

Boringness Simulator This game is so boring that even the mc tired and non-stop yawning. Not scary at all, but the corpses are visually shocking.

Abandoned game with bugs that make it impossible to progress the story. Not everyone is experiencing it but for the ones who does, the devs just dont care

The game was overhyped. I'd seen a lot of hype for it on tiktok and have been waiting forever to play it cause it looked amazing, the gameplay of the autopsy was good but very buggy, the jumpscares were lacking, predictable and just not scary. Storyline was boring as hell and predictable, ending was ass as well. I googled if it was actually the ending as I felt there was no way. It would've been cooler if it was a mix of the autopsy of jane doe and layers of fear were you follow his decent…

It's not even really worth the purchase tbh, it's incredibly slow and relies on "go fetch boy" tasks to make up 75% of the gameplay. I waited too long to play to get a refund, so I felt obligated to at least run through the story, I wish I could get that time back.

Autopsy Simulator is an unusually bold and unsettling hybrid of forensic simulation and psychological horror, developed by Woodland Games and published by Team17 Digital. Rather than relying on supernatural scares or action-heavy pacing, the game roots its tension in realism—clinical procedures, graphic anatomy, and the emotional weight that comes from closely examining death. You step into the role of Jack, a seasoned pathologist whose life is quietly unraveling due to grief and unresolved…

This game not only teaches you about what could happen during an autopsy, but it has a story as well. The game is keeping my attention as well as learning the science behind performing a autopsy simulator. This game may not be for everyone, but for me personally, I really like it!
