What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 188 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mixed (1,631 of 2,532 positive).
Players say it is a very short, narrative-driven VR experience that focuses on investigation rather than combat. [1][2][3] Many reviewers warn it is not worth the full price, recommending it only when bought on sale for a few dollars. [4][5][6] Some players report technical issues with modern VR headsets, especially controller compatibility and blurry visuals. [7][8][9]

Quick clarification up front — because I’m consistent about this: I only review games I have beaten. Short experience, fully completed. Credits rolled. This isn’t about being Batman in combat — it’s about being Batman in his head. Batman: Arkham VR is not a traditional Arkham game, and that’s important to understand going in. There’s no freeflow combat, no predator rooms, and no sprawling Gotham to patrol. What you …

(ONLY RECOMMEND IF GET UNDER £5) Fun experience for first time however only buy if you can get it ridiculously cheap its a very short game more like a tech demo Beat main story in 40 mins. Yes you can replay for 100% and achievements but not really that fun. Aswell holy hell this game isnt batman arkham vr its Forensic scanner the game. Apparently this game just stopped supporting Occulus/Meta controllers three years ago for no apparent reason. It literally cannot be played intended anymore.

Using a Quest 3 headset and the steam link app, this game is broken. Looks so blurry no matter the settings. The game is good for what it is otherwise, my review would be positive if there was a way to get it to work correctly through steamlink on Quest 3

Controls aren't working. Can't play. Meta Quest 3.
Summarised from 34 of the 207 public posts collected about this game; every point cites the posts behind it ([n] opens the post) and the split is counted from the posts’ own ratings. Updated Oct 12, 2026. How summaries are made
48% of the 188 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Batman™: Arkham VR. The complaint that keeps coming up: extremely short, often completed in under an hour. Deal-breaker or nitpick?
Critics, per Wikipedia
Batman: Arkham VR received "mixed or average" reviews from critics for the PlayStation 4 version of the game, according to review aggregator website Metacritic. Zero Punctuation's Ben Croshaw called the PSVR version "incredible garbage" and "a half hour CD-ROM virtual tour from mid to late 90s", later nominating it as one of the worst games of 2016. The Official UK PlayStation Magazine listed it as the seventh best PSVR game. The Game Critics Awards awarded the game as Best VR Game. The National Academy of Video Game Trade Reviewers awarded the game in the category Direction in Virtual Reality. At IGN's Best of E3 2016 Awards the game won in the categories Best Puzzle Game and Best VR…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game supports only older VR systems. I own a Quest 2 and i cannot open the game. Do a research before buying the game.

neutral · AI labelView post →I got it when it was 3bucks or so... it aint worth it for the full prize at all. I couldnt even beat ppl up, it was only Detective work which gameplay was only to scan stuff. When the credits came i first thought that this must be the beginning for the big action, until i landed back in the menu. not worth at all even for its time that it came out pure waste.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While it worked without issues on my Meta Quest 2, it was a pixelated mess and not really that immersive an experience, so I'm glad I didnt pay more than 2 bucks for this. This felt like one of those really old VR titles, like much older than it is. It has a poor image quality and there is no free movement, you just teleport into different stationary positions, throw some ♥♥♥♥ around till you fill the objectives and then onto the next area and so on until you reach the end. It also only takes…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought it for 2.4$ and I think it's worth like 5$ tops. It only took me 90 minutes to finish including short breaks. So it's hardly a full game. Just a short sort of incomplete or an introduction to a story. I've still got the Riddler clue run to go so I might get like 4 hours out of it and I tend to like to get 1$ per hour when buying games. That being said I really enjoyed those 90 minutes. I'm playing on a Quest 3 with a 5070ti, the virutal desktop app and a dedicated router and the game…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Something Valve did in a recent SteamVR update finally made it so I could play this game with the PSVR2 headset and controllers without any fanangling, or issues. This VR experience only an hour long, with another hour to go back and collect all the achievements/do some riddler stuff. At the $3-$5 range I think it is a pretty great experience. Looks and plays really well for a VR game from 2017. This is one of the few times I would comment that it would be disappointing at full price due to its…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's tough to recommend considering it's supposed to be a Batman game. First, this is way too short of a "game", went in thinking it will be a detailed story but it abruptly ends. Second, it's not action packed, it has it's moments, but for the most part you're just playing detective. The story is good, get it if you want to experience the novelty, but do not set your expectations high. I did enjoy it, but I was left wanting more, it felt like a demo.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As the other reviews say, it's closer to a tech demo than a full game, but there's nothing wrong with that. What really kills this game is how badly it runs on modern devices. It can't detect the controllers if you run it through Quest Link. It works through Steam Link, but still renders at an incredibly low resolution. I genuinely don't understand why game studios don't want to put some effort into maintaining their products past a few years. The entire software industry can do it, yet the…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sadly it straight up doesn't work on newer headsets. Even with "fixes" posted in guides, it just doesn't work. Shame, because as a VR title from VERY early on, it looks decent.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This glorified tech demo refuses to detect Quest 3S controllers, so I can't even properly open it. -_-
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recommend this but it is important that you know what you are playing. If you want an actual Arkham VR game, then this is not it. Arkham Shadow on the Quest 3 is what you are looking for. This game is instead just a short, tech demo experience fro your VR headset, a small taste if you like and it functioned as a nice PCVR test. Do not expect anything more from it, there is no game to this, just a small psychological study of Batman with no combat really. A 6/10 for me, but it can easily be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting little VR game with linear story. Has some bugs, but it's fine. Takes about 60-90min to complete. It is certainly not worth the full 20 euro price. Would recommend it if it's 5 euro or less.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →whats the point if i cant throw hands
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought at 85% off sale, barely worth that. It's not Arkham Shadow. Set your expectations unusually low - you don't fight with batman in this game, or even move around. This is a batman vr tech demo with a detective scanning story. There's no smooth motion, you click and batman teleports. Switching between areas is basically a black screen with some dialogue while the next area loads. The game defaults to Valve Index knuckle controls so if you have a quest then you'll need to set custom…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heap of ♥♥♥♥, does not recognise Quest controllers. I should be able to refund, but NO!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The standalone SteamLink app on the Meta store fixed the controller bug issues. I've tried playing it on Virtual Desktop and straight from the Meta link option, both do not work. Once again, just download the SteamLink app off the Meta store and BOOM, you're good to go. This game is phenomenon!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like this game, but I am in no delusion that this is quality. this is a super quick, no real accomplishment VR experience that I picked up for $3 because its the only Arkham game i didn't play other than shadows and i wanted to play this one first. Anyways, this game is a scam at full price. No way in hell this is worth 20 bucks. Now on the other hand, $3 is a very reasonable price for this. Buy this on sale, please don't drop $19.99 on this. I'm looking forward to playing Shadows!

positive · AI labelView post →This game feels like a VR tech demo more than a chapter in the Arkham series. Hearing Kevin Conroy is a joy but this game feels... kinda lazy. You solve a murder and that is it. The whole game can be 100% completed in less than 2 hours with a guide. Also there is 0 combat. Part of what made the Arkham series so memorable is the combat. I'd only pick up this game on sale. Its good, just... not worth 20 dollars.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →THis game stinks its like a VR cd from the 90s. Also if your using oculus or meta run the program in win 7 mode to fix the controls. i beat it in 2 hours i assumed the story was longer and the main mode was longer as well i was incorrect..
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not an action/fighting game if that's what you were hoping. 30 minutes in and all I've done is look for clues. No real action. Boring as hell and will be refunded.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Batman: Arkham VR Review Overview A short, guided VR vignette that lets you *look* like Batman more than *be* Batman. Minimal combat, no stealth, mostly light investigation and gadget handling. I 100%’d it (all achievements) in ~4.5 hours. Full price feels steep, on sale it is a neat curiosity for fans. I am giving it a thumbs up because I enjoyed playing through it rather than not. What It Is First person Batman on a compact, linear tour, Batcave highlights, a few crime scenes, and…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Batman: Arkham VR is a compact virtual reality adventure that approaches the Dark Knight from a very different perspective than the traditional Arkham games. Developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, it trades sprawling environments, rhythmic melee combat, and lengthy campaigns for a much more personal experience built around investigation and immersion. Instead of simply controlling Batman from a third-person viewpoint, the game attempts to create…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're using a quest 2 VR setup, don't buy this game. It will not detect your controllers whatsoever no matter what fixes are available. all "fixes" on the community are snake oil. It's a shame this game doesn't have proper support for one of the most common VR headsets today.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I only ped this game recently. I loved playing it. Simpl but stuck to the Batman theme. It 10 years old so I undestand the graphicsarent to par with say Batman Arkham Shadows but it's primed me that that game, which is now next on my list.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool tech demo with some good scares but not worth $20, also steam link with quest 3 causes issues with this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a really badly optimized piece of garbage, that does not run well using a steam link on a Meta Quest 3s, my system is more than capable of running is old garbage glorified demo, but it just refuses to run on a full screen on my system making it an enlarged blurry mess, and even after overriding the startup to run it at fullscreen it glitches out completely whenever there is a mirror or something involved, I bought it almost for free but it is not worth that amount as well, please avoid…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Batman: Arkham VR is a short and visually appealing VR game that essentially gives you a glimpse into the Arkham universe. It's more like a mini tech demo that shows what a VR Batman game COULD be like, but isn't a full on Batman experience. I still like it for what it is and it definitely felt darker (and a little scary) compared to the rest of the Arkham series. Which, by the way, this does contain spoilers for the other Arkham games. So while I don't HIGHLY recommend it and you're not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played on the Meta Quest 3, and thought it was pretty fun. I got the VR headset to play Arkham Shadow, and thought I might as well play the other Arkham game as well. And while nowhere near the level of Shadow, I enjoyed this game for what it is. It kind of function like a point and click and adventure game. If using a guide, you can probably get 100% completion in 2-3 hours, but it took me about 5 hours without one. $20 is a bit much for such a short experience, but I still enjoyed it. There…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fantastic VR experience, the environments and characters are brilliant, there's basically no challenge involved so it's just an experience and not so much a game. That said I had a great time being Batman for the evening.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is like barely an hour worth of content and it just feels like a Bruce Wayne nightmare trauma simulator. I don't want to spoil anything but they kill off major side characters and it's just like a thing happened. Now go scan their corpse and relive their deaths. ARE YOU HAVING FUN MR BRUCE?! haha whaaaaat?! Save your money, even if it's on sale. It worked and played fine for me on my Quest 2 headset. I can't remember if I used Steam Link or Virtual Desktop Streamer. But both of those are…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a hug to all Arkham series fans. The visuals are peak, controls are comfortable at least, mechanics are very simple but enjoyable. It is not a classic Arkham gameplay tho, more like a Disneyland type of attraction for a Batman fan. The game itself is a little bit on a short side in terms of length, however you will enjoy every minute of it. Most likely you will want to 100% the game after credits roll.
