Explain to me how my steam deck can run Red dead redemption 2 at a solid 60fps but can’t run this game at a solid 20. Refunded until some big optimization occurs. Looks like a cool game, shame I can’t play it on the platform that looks perfect for it.

Boti: Byteland Overclocked is a classic 3D platformer that can be played completely in coop. With a cute, quirky story set in the components of a computer, gorgeous vibrant visuals and varied gameplay, there are definitely some excellent elements. However, with almost unplayable coop, a plethora of glitches, poor optimisation and some of the most obnoxious voice acting and broken dialogue that I have ever …

• Interesting Story done in cartoon style, with funny moments • Possibility of cooperative play • Pleasant UI • Cool visual effects and graphics style • Interesting puzzles and secrets • Very friendly new hero • Character development • Possibility to change Hub's appearance • Combination of minions and robots <3 I definitely recommend to anyone who likes to play platform games. Calm addictive gameplay, with …

[Windows PC] What an overwhelmingly charming experience! Boti is the debut game from indie Polish studio Purple Ray Studio, and I truly hope it won't be their last. For a debut game, it shows exceptional promise since it already feels quite fleshed out with lots of creative 3D platforming ideas. Controls feel tight and responsive - except for the car/boat sections, as this is a 3D platformer so it is required by law …

KAMGUSTA'S MINI REVIEW It's an easy, colorful (I love it!), bright, humorous, charming and fun 3D platformer set in a "hardware" world. You destroy ".zip" boxes, you collect "Bytes", you jump on "bugs", you enter inside CPUs... It may remind you of "Astro's Playroom" for PS5. You can also play it co-op with one of your friends! I had a couple of crashes, but that shouldn't diminish all the good things about this …

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm one to try to 100% games AND THEN review them. That's just my thing. That's not possible with this game at the moment. Many achievements simply aren't registering progression at all, which really sucks. Because of this, I cannot recommend this game to anyone. Along with the achievement issues, the game is just... clunky! Optimization is poor If you're playing with a controller, your mouse is visible on any UI screens or cut scenes and it's MASSIVE The dialogue, while quite cute, is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2025-08-05 Edit: The recent update, patch 1.15, has finally fixed the performance issues that made the game unplayable. I could now play on steam deck with medium graphics settings locked at 40fps and I finished all levels and reached the end credits. This is a game that makes me wish Steam had a neutral option for reviews. There is a lot to like about Boti and an equal amount that I disliked and found frustrating. To address the positives first, the game has a lot of character and the…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Full review (with score): https://youtu.be/g-douiTlGcw Written review below! We finally have Astro's Playroom on PC. Or rather, as close as we can get. It is called Boti: Byteland Overclocked and it aims to fill that very specific 3D platforming inside a computer niche. Note: Trimmed to fit Steam, check video for full version! Gameplay Boti is a competent 3D platformer that tackles the basics and nothing more. It’s got a bit of platforming, a bit of a puzzle touch to that platforming, and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →x-- 5/10 --x It disheartens me to leave a negative review, but unfotunately my experience was quite shoddy with this game. + The OST is amazing! Absolutely loved all the music + Boti is so adorable, loved him so much + The levels were big and well structured - FATAL ERROR BUG - crashed my game a total of 9 times. It even crashed at a save point, which corrupted my save file, so I had to start the game again. - I ran into a few glitches, while not too serious as the fatal error bug,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a charming and stylized game that was left to die on PC with little to no optimizations. Even if you have a beefy PC, you aren't going anywhere near a setting above low. You'll also need to tank the resolution scale and utilize some form of scaling like FSR or DLSS. I'm on Steamdeck and man... 25fps or lower are what you are going to see often with barely anything above. If you were here near release, the developer seemed to heavily focus on DLC and barely any optimizations to get the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is absolutely bugged to the point there's even typos. Frequent crashes, awful platforming, freezing out of nowhere. This game shouldn't even be allowed to be sold in the state it is. Also it runs like crap on a modern PC with a 3070 RTX. Avoid for now.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game does have a lot of potential, it has a fun story line, fun graphics, it is not too hard but still entertainable, however unfortunately coop does not work well at all. The game bugs out and lags a lot making it unplayable at times, where you have to go back to the lobby in order for it to 'reset' again. I would with the state this game is in right now, not recommend buying it if you plan on playing together, not even if it is on sale.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not once not twice it crashed 3 times! that damn fatal error loosing my saved game is too frustrating. I can't even refund the game because I bought it 2 months back.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overly bright game world was giving me strong De Blob vibes so I tried it out. Somehow a game can be TOO bright. When playing on my HD TV, it was like staring into an eclipse and without any gamma setting I could find you just had to get used to the game slowly making you cross eyed. Gameplay-wise I like it. You explode a lot of stuff like Ratchet and Clank and have minimal puzzles to do along the way. The voice lines are repetitive and the music is almost non-existent so I just tune out…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is poorly optimized, but still runs well enough to have a good time. Some of the achievements are bugged, most notably the personal track achievement. However, you can still have a good time with friends or solo. Great for an afternoon or two, game isn't too hard. If you're struggling, don't forget you can get upgrades at your base to make everything a bit easier. 8/10, worth it, if even for the cute outfits. Edit: As of their update on April 16, 2025, their achievements now work on…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For me, this game has more cons than pros. While the plot that is centered around what goes on inside your computer is nice, the art style and look of the game is very gorgeous and the platforming and combat are very nice and intuitive, the voice acting, optimization and quality assurance are completely buggered. The voice acting feels cheap and can get annoying when you hear one sentence like 3 to 4 times and the voice actors felt like they had no heart or soul when acting as the characters.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely amazing game, but the optimization is terrible! My god, I've never seen such a poorly optimized game in my entire life. This game doesn't even look that visually appealing, yet it runs horribly. The performance is much worse than the PC port of The Last of Us
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is perhaps appropriate for a game about breaking a computer to be riddled with bugs. Fatal errors that give a CTD are much more common than they should be, and I was outright softlocked in the second level when a puzzle element just stopped being magnetized before it was actually in the correct position. I'm not sure I'd be a big fan of the game even if it ran perfectly though, star rating systems on linear levels that take half an hour to complete are not my cup of tea.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game runs horribly. I tried to push past it but just can't

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think this game is a great 3D platformer game. I really like playing 3D platformer recently, and I enjoy playing this too. They have different skins for Boti, and some secret missions. And since this game is on sale, you can give this game a chance. I bet you'll like it if you also like playing 3D platformer games
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Is the game good? It's alright. Why don't I recommend it? The technical issues are really killing it. The game first started running perfectly on my computer and after beating 3 levels, for some reason, it couldn't be rendered at more that 30 fps on the same settings while before that, it ran at more than a hundred FPS, on high and 1920-1080. I had to turn the resolution down, capt the fps at 30, turn the quality on low. The quality setting also seems to only be affecting the rendering…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is weirdly offputting. Conceptually, everything seems like it should be decent, but I played around with every combination of graphic options and the game just has this unpleasant blur to it, and also the music is horribly monotonous.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want SO BAD to love this game, I really do. I love the story, the characters, the world, the mechanics, the artistry, the soundtrack, the fact that this is Co-op... but I can not recommend this game with the amount of bugs and crashes that I get. I attempted to stream this game with a friend, but unfortunately did not have the best experience. The game had several bugs/glitches where one of us would get stuck somewhere and we'd have to exit the game to fix it. Other times the game would…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely poor performance. 40-80 FPS on both systems: 1.Laptop RTX 3050 TI with some old I7 and 16GB RAM 2. RTX 3080 TI, i9-13900k and 32 GB of ram. So in short, this game runs at AVG 55 fps, yet looks like it should run at AVG 550 fps. One of the worst performing games i've ever seen. Also, it's short and far less dynamic that the trailer wants you to think. It took me less than 8 hours to beat the entire game, and i left the game opened in the background for like 3 hours minimum. So 5…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boti: Byteland Overclocked is just typical platformer If you played new Kao the Kangaroo game you’d know what I meant. The game’s good, not masterpiece but still gives a lot of good time. Well it’s not that common for this genre to be story driven. So that “inspired by the past” from description can be taken by more literal mean. I liked the story. That’s why I took extra time to find all Kornel’s logs which made my game…. … To last longer than it would normally. Let’s say I finished every…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm sorry, but I experienced two impassible bugs in the first 5 minutes of gameplay where platforms REQUIRED TO PROGRESS were literally intangible. Was there any QA on this? It's adorable, but I can't imagine how such severe bugs could make it into a final product, let alone that they exist in the very beginning of the game?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →4/10 Great characters & story, but game lacks heavily with bugs that can *maybe* ruin the fun, depending on your luck. (Will update this review with screenshots & video of all bugs mentioned in the coming days.) This game has been out for almost a year now, I discovered this game when diving very deep into Steams 3D Platformer section. Was surprised this was at the *very bottom of the list*, considering how amazing this game looks in design. Bought the game during the Summer Sale along-side a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a great platformer if it weren't for the weird bugs that we encountered while playing it, especially in Level 7. An overview of our issues in level 7: We have had ventilator fans not having collision or pushing us up, so we had to do some creative tinkering to continue by throwing eachother further so we could cross an abyss. Then later in the same level we opened a door which immediately closed and had one of us stuck inside, so we had to return to the menu and return to the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game frustratingly hides its broken nature until you've put enough time in to feel invested. Through the first half the worst I had to deal with was the occasional plummeting frame rate, dipping into seconds-per-frame rather than frames-per-second at times. I learned to live with it, just standing still and not moving the camera for eight or ten seconds until things smoothed out. But in the back half things came undone quickly. Critical path platforms just stop having collision, making…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →painfully generic 3D platformer. music is mediocre, dialogue is annoying and repetitive, gameplay is substandard. there are many better kid friendly options than this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Astrobot but for PC! A very fun and colorful 3D platform set inside of a PC. I've been following this game development since they published a small demo named Boti Boi at the Epic Mega Jam 2021 and I've fell in love with them... I've always wanted to play a game like that! So congrats devs on making this really small gem! :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boti Byteland Overclocked is a delightful masterpiece in the gaming world! 🌈🎮 The cute and cozy atmosphere of this 3D platformer brings joy to every moment of gameplay. From its charming characters to the whimsical landscapes, every detail exudes warmth and creativity. The game's immersive world and engaging platform challenges make it a perfect escape into a realm of pure joy. Boti has successfully captured my heart with its cuteness and coziness, making it a fav in my gaming collection! 🚀💕
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Look, there are loads of bugs. The kinds that mess with progression and don't trigger achievements when you earn them. If you complete the game but then want to be a completionist and get all you missed, skip it because this game is just infuriating because the hub and the levels don't even agree as to what collectibles are in the levels.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having a hard time playing this game. Within just 30 minutes of gameplay, my bf and I have experienced 2 crashes (1 each) and multiple bugs. One time we couldn't jump on a platform because we would just fall through it. The second time my bf somehow clipped inside one of the crates. The game is poorly optimised. I could only run it on like 15-30 frames max with a 1660ti. I know its lower then what's recommended but is above minimum. Also if ur duo walks into a cut scene while you're mid…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Went into the game with 0 expectations, but the visuals and character design got me interested in the game. Shame that's where the positives for me end with this game. Contrary to most of the reviews, I didn't experience a single crash during my time (I assume that's because the game's been patched to hell and back to be more stable), but a few other aspects of the game unfortunately didn't leave a very good impression for me. Character design is great, Boti themself is cute. Zero and One…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Welp, it started out as a really fun sorta linear 3D platformer that was kinda chill, nice music, looked nice with lots of color, fun to play game. But then the frame rate started to tank from 60 to the 40s and everywhere in between, like a cheap hooker. Then it was the grapple/push ability- awkward to control and horrible to use, I hate it. Then the framerate got worse. Some levels were in the low 30s to mid 40s all over the place like Methany looking for her next quick fix while sniffing…

positive · AI labelView post →Cool aesthetic and good potential but the execution is poor. Aside from the voice lines repeating very often, the game just isn't very fun and relies very heavily on wanting to get full completion. Lots of frustrating deaths from a very small error. I wanted to like this game but I can't, it's not worth buying.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →🧵 Conversely take a game like Boti Byteland Overclocked. A game I was so excited for. However, it has performance issues and uninspired platforming. It failed to do the one thing that it's genre required of it to be good: platforming. Despite its gorgeous graphics. [Continued in the skeet below]
negative · AI labelView post →Good concept. Maybe needs a bit of polishing but I was having fun so far.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terribly dull to play. I got roped in by the visuals and left disappointed by the actual level design and gameplay. Fine in a bundle I guess but there are better 3d collectathon to (re)play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is for those waiting on the fabled astro bot pc port. Kinda jank with some bugs but charming enough to keep me entertained and engaged. It's not all too difficult but a lot of charm to it. Very fun game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really cute computer style platformer. Gameplay is very calming with low stakes and controls are easy to learn. I ❤️love❤️ the computer puns. Ultrawide 21:9 is supported in gameplay but sadly cutscenes are 16:9😢. 😺YOU CAN WEAR CAT AS A HAT😺

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't understand the hate for this game. I have not come across one single game breaking glitch. The only issue I'm noticing is when you try to turn the banter off, there is no "apply" button so it just won't work. The option is there, it just doesn't function as it should. I'm also unable to change the theme of the hub or furniture in my room despite the option being there. There are some minor glitches, like the cannon ball not shooting a button, but luckily I was able to bypass that area…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Completely buggy, from the tutorial having a bugged bouncepad creature to actual potentially game breaking bugs like magnets not being able to be triggered unlss you jump in awkward ways just to get them to move and then the ending itself is even completely bugged and unsatisfying so you get stuck softlocked for eternity. Would not recommend because of these bugs but if they ever get fixed sure but at this state it borders on really not playable and not worth because if you put in all the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A few updates in and this game still runs like **** on steam deck. It's poorly optimized in general. I can run games that require better specs and get longer battery life... meanwhile this game gives me like 15-20 fps in most areas on the lowest settings and will only last like an hr on full charge. You can get MAYBE 24 fps or so by having drs on but then the game looks like ♥♥♥♥. Pretty pathetic - I'm sure there's something on the backend that can be fixed to make this run at at least 30 fps…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boti: Byteland Overclocked has gotten a lot of poor reviews from outlets and gamers. It surprised me when I found this, because I played the game before looking at the reviews and I had a really good time with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qU3-9WXp0dE Boti isn't going to set the world on fire, but it's a more than competent platformer. positive · AI labelView post →Poorly optimised, devs focus on patching speedrun skips rather than making their game more stable and less buggy. I am getting achievements for the wrong things. There is a stair you can't walk down in Level 1. I fell through the floor within 30 minutes. My character model glitched and became diagonal and upside down LOL. You can't change audio with controller. Most options are unchangeable. Only 1 save file. Game has a chance of crashing if you finish a stage. You can't see time or stats if…
