I grew up playing this game. I loved it on Play Station 2, and I played this game from beginning to end multiple times. I remember loving Skirmish mode and thinking the campaign was fun, I use to enjoy the story. So when I found it on steam with the two other games for $20 I thought "Hey a piece of my childhood!" I had fond memories of the game so I figured I'd get it and relive them. Good god do I wish I had left …

Loved it as a teenager. Replayed it the whole way through during my deployment in Afghanistan back in 2014 when I was 19/20 years old. Slapped then, slaps now.

Like its predecessor, this game is atmospheric, gripping, and highly polished but this time around, it does everything even better. While it follows a similar formula, the execution is sharper across the board. The story pulls you in right from the start, and it’s brilliant to follow the fate of the squad as events unfold. The gunplay stands out as well. Hitting your target actually requires effort and precision, …

Earned in Blood is an excellent continuation of Road to Hill 30. Gearbox increased the difficulty for this one, so don't be surprised if you die often. This is not your typical Run and Gun shooter. You're going to need to start using squad strategies to your advantage. I also recommend installing Rendroc's WarZone mod, which adds new squad commands, improved AI, and a variety of other features. Overall, I think it's …

It is as good as the previous game, and then some with the enhancements that were made. Most notably, in the computer AI that puts up so much more of a fight than most of the best FPS games. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3100997150

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played a 2v2 game of Trench Crusade tonight. We played the multiplayer scenario Brothers In Arms. My trench pilgrims and ally’s Prussians vs two Court warbands: Envy and Gluttony. We all held our own home objectives and fought a bloodbath over uzi Jesus in the center of the map. #TrenchCrusade

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Went crazy and added 1 + game to the list of now playing. It goes: Soul Reaver, Brothers in Arms 1, Lego City Undercover, and Pokémon Silver. A lot, and not healthy, but that's one solution I found for the overthinking. Working hard at night, and still figuring out a thing a guy😅. Be safe, guys.
neutral · AI labelView post →Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 was a masterpiece. It introduced console players to real-time tactics through a story lovingly inspired by HBO's Band of Brothers. It was not flawless. Enemy AI was static and enemy soldiers rarely moved from their fixed positions except during scripted sequences. Friendly AI could be janky and stupid. Grenade throwing was inaccurate and difficult to master. The cover system was so convenient that in many levels it strained believabilty that there were this…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The hunt for PS1 games is largely over, so other consoles get the #PhysicalMedia collection expanded. I can now see where the SSX series ended up after 6th gen and try out my first Brothers In Arms game. But first thing after I finish Okami, I can finally experience Enslaved: Journey to the West.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall grade: C Enjoyable? Sure Recommended? Not a game I’ll recommend outright; only if you’re interested in this niche game Replayability: I probably won’t revisit this but am excited to try Hell’s Highway +story presentation—Sgt. Joe “Red” Hartsock’s recollections during an interview with Army historian Col. Marshall +slightly better story, banter, voice acting and character development compared to its predecessor, Road to Hill 30 +some gut-wrenching moments; I wasn’t expecting to “feel”…

neutral · AI labelView post →Taking Command isn't Easy. Taking Consequences is Even Harder. Story 9 In Earned in Blood, the main character's perspective shifts to newly promoted Sergeant Joe 'Red' Hartsock, who was previously a corporal in Baker's fire team in the previous game. Red's story is told through his interview with S.L.A. Marshall, a real-life military historian and journalist who has interviewed hundreds of WW2 soldiers. The narrative recounts Red's war experiences during Operation Overlord, from the chapter…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood is a first person shooter. Gearbox did a great job with this sequel to Hill 30. Gameplay is improved and the graphics are also more refined. The Brothers in Arms trilogy are all World War II action shooters. Played this on my Dell Precision 3480 with Arc Xe graphics and RTX A500 discrete graphics. Game is very playable. The easy system requirements suggest Arc Xe graphics can play this at 1920x1080 easily.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Earned in Blood shows a slightly more promising start than Hill 30. And by Mission 5 it devolves into all the same crap as the first game. Regular crashing. Opaque game elements where the 'behind the scenes' math of flanking and shooting feels disconnected from what you're doing in first person. Level design that often funnels you into killzones with no clear options and seem to rely on sheer luck to get through. Teammates parked in supposedly safe locations and then 3 of them die from an…

neutral · AI labelView post →Never understood why people rate these games so highly. Yes, the story is obviously miles better than most fps games, but it's hard to enjoy when you have awful AI, repetitive level design, no quicksaving and no way of healing.

neutral · AI labelView post →Horrible level design, (every level is a variant of a main path filled with "cover positions", and a "flanking path" and/or an MG placement.), consoley controls, aiming feels like you're trying to aim while ice skating, shots absolutely refuse to go where the sight is pointing, rifle scopes are literally, visually, not zeroed (the developers seem to think shots are supposed to be zeroed *between* the crosshairs in a WW2 German scope, for some reason??) unskippable and boring cutscenes, generic…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just finished a playthrough of BIA: Earned in Blood and thought it was excellent. I am an older gamer now, I played through this game on the Xbox original way back when and was engrossed by it then and still am today. Unlike Road to Hill 30 I had no issues here with any bugs. The combat, story, and animations still hold up and are frenetic, fun, and engaging. The game is challenging at times but rewarding in that as you learn to adapt to the battlefield and puzzles it presents you can solve…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood is a tactical first-person shooter that immerses players in the gritty realities of World War II combat through a blend of intense firefights, strategic squad commands, and a strong narrative focus. Developed by Gearbox Software and released on Steam years after its initial console launch, this game builds upon the foundations laid by its predecessor to deliver a more refined and emotionally charged experience. While it may show its age in some areas, Earned in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Much harder and less forgiving than its predecessor. You can finally ask your squad members for ammo, which wasn't possible in RTH30; and seeing as how most of the time you'll be shooting at cover, it's a much needed QoL improvement. You play as Hartsock instead of Baker but the story is pretty much the same as the original; just from a different perspective. Truly a great game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first Brothers in Arms pc game had a very similar mechanic based on suppression and flanking
neutral · AI labelView post →It's more of the first game. Rather than a sequel, it feels more like an expansion. Still very good and fun though. There's still a lot of care put into this in regards to authenticity. Still has a lot real world WWII content you can view in game in extras. Band of Brothers vibes throughout the game. Would recommend if you like WWII shooters, tactical squad based gameplay, and are okay with outdated graphics, controls, and poor acting.

Otherwise last time I was in one was college, 2013, for my friend to redeem some Pokémon thing for her 3DS. Last time I bought something was 2010?, high school. neutral · AI labelView post →Just like BIA: road to hill 30, its like a dlc. This time we play as "Red" who also appeared in the first game. We even had a pre war cutscene at some point, which is cool (when mayor mentioned his scar) which is cool. Dont know if the previous game had it, but you can play multiplayer (you need to create an account which i dont know if it works) or play solo skirmish mission across different maps even as the germans.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great mid 2000's cinematic WW2 shooter with interesting squad/cover/suppressing/flanking mechanics. Unfortunately at this point its just too old. Play Hell's Highway instead - It has aged a lot better.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a great sequel to Road to Hill 30. AI is improved, level design is also more various and less repetitive, although at some point it still will give that feeling. The game feels way more challenging and strategic, and was much more enjoyable than the previous one. The story takes a darker twist, giving more depth to the characters. It's a great tactical shooter that improves all that its predecessor created.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun old game if you want to command an army to do objectives, must be played with mods though because AI is stupid, aiming is bad, and enemies are bullet sponges

neutral · AI labelView post →I recommend this game to anyone who enjoys playing WW2 games, it is different to most FPS in that you are able to control your squads and it is more strategic in the sense that you have to plan your next move carefully otherwise you or your squad members might get shot.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 is now 20 years old! The title was the first full game Gearbox developed after years of creating ports and add-ons. It's considered one of the best WWII games ever made, and kicked off a franchise that currently has at least 9 total entries.
