This game commits the ultimate sin: its boring. Very very very very very boring. You played the first 15 minutes of it? Congratulations, you have seen EVERYTHING this game has to offer. I finished the first game, and although I found it lacking, I remember being ok with it. But this game adds nothing to it. In fact, it makes some stuff worse than the first. The gameplay is still the same button mashing garbage. Mash …

A sequel to the first game of fantastical battle cats, only this time with a larger map, more puns and added dogs... Well, the cats out of the bag with this one. It's too similar to Cat Quest 1. This didn't feel like a sequel, it feels like a remaster of the first one. A lot of similarities and recurring themes and locales. Critics, per Wikipedia

According to the review aggregator website Metacritic, Cat Quest II received "generally favorable reviews" for its PC, Switch, and PS4 versions. RPGamer considered the game to be an improvement over its predecessor, and praised the combat and story, but felt as though the main quest distracted the player from finding side quests. Push Square liked the artstyle and called combat "satisfying" but considered the design of dungeons to be repetitive. I've been playing Cat Quest II with my son and I'm actually wildly impressed with how good a job this game does of introducing foundational RPG concepts to a genre newcomer. It didn't take him long to grasp leveling, gear loadouts, or the importance of build variety between our characters. Fun game!

A continuation of the first game, but this time you have a dog as you companion helping in your new journey. New quests, new enemies, new challenges, new items, bigger map with new areas, with an unique way to fight the enemies. Cat Quest 2 is charming in a way that's hard to argue with but ultimately didn't do enough to keep me around. The art direction is genuinely delightful and the pun writing has a consistency to it that kids are going to eat up completely. The Gentlebros clearly had fun making this and that energy comes through in every corner of the world. For a younger audience or someone completely new to action RPGs it probably lands exactly right. The problem is the genre has no shortage of games doing…

I recently played this adorable feline-and-canine adventure that feels like someone tossed classic Zelda into a blender with a giant ball of yarn — and somehow it worked purrfectly. The world is so beautifully crafted that I kept stopping just to look at trees… which is saying something, because enemies were definitely trying to claw my face off at the time. There’s an absurd amount of gear to collect and upgrade — helmets, swords, magical staves, probably a toaster somewhere — and I loved…

I platinumed this game on PlayStation a few years ago and enjoyed it. Now I'm going to 100% it on Steam. I am playing with an Xbox controller, when I play with a DualSense there are no button icons or button prompts at all. If you already know what buttons to press and when, everything still works. And if you enable Steam Input you can get Xbox button icons to appear, which is better than no icons.

More of the same from the first game, but improved. It cost only £10.00 for all three CQ games on sale, which is a steal. It's basically a very simplified Elder Scrolls game. You go on fetch or kill quests, there's simple RPG elements, gear, weapons, spells. The art style is really nice. The humour was fun. I'd give this a solid 8/10, it's an improvement on CQ1. Cat Quest 2's gameplay felt odd when I tried playing it shortly after Cat Quest 1. Having to divide your build across two playable characters, one of which AI-controlled, requires letting go of control and it takes some getting used to. Once I accepted it the gameplay felt familiar again, somewhat. Because half of my build is AI-controlled I feel less involved, less excited about progression or about facing a challenging enemy. tl;dr - Play this game if you love "baked chicken and white rice" and can't get enough of it at the dinner table. Co Op Or Bust The major conceit of this game is its "mandatory" co-op where you will always have two characters you can switch between. The game's AI will do its best to have the second character attack and cast spells, but they essentially become an unkillable distraction/extra DPS as you kite enemies around with your ranged attacks. The story is even more childish than the the…

If you loved being a brave little kitty in Cat Quest, Cat Quest II takes everything from the first adventure and makes it even better. You get to play as a cat AND a dog. Honestly, what more do you need? A charming little action RPG with fun combat, colorful environments, plenty of loot, and a entertaining story. Continuation of the story, this time in co-op mode. The humor is stronger with this one. Double the animal puns. Doggos and Cattos ftw. I can't wait to play the 3rd part ~~[url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/44342408-Sanctuary-for-Strange-People/]Check my curator's page!~~

Even better than the first game, especially because you can now play 2-player co-op with a friend! Playing as a cat and a dog together is super fun, and the combat and magic feel much smoother. It still gets a bit repetitive after a while, but it's an awesome game to play together. 8.5/10

Cat Quest 3 is more advanced than this, but this is a fun game nonetheless. After having played Cat Quest 3, this only gets a weak recommendation, but it's still a recommendation. Play them in order if you're not just going for the latest game. They are relatively short.
