What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 192 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (7,002 of 7,966 positive).
Players praise the remaster's faithful recreation of the original NES game with updated graphics and voice acting. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note the game is short and lacks content, with a few criticizing the final level's design. [4][5][6] A few players report technical issues like lag and pixelated visuals, but offer fixes. [7][8]

Final level (Vesuvius) is very badly designed. No checkpoint before or after the boss at least? The game continues and puts you under time pressure but if you lose, you have to start the whole level from the beginning. I think the team was lazy to add more content, so they just messed up this level to take longer to finish, so that they could say that the game is not too short.

I played through this 100% on the Xbox 360 (twice [XBLA and retail disc]). It goes without saying I'm a fan. I love the voice acting from all the original actors (rest in peace Alan Young, Russi Taylor, and Chuck McCann), and the new graphics and remixed music are perfect compared to their source material. I have zero complaints...well, except one...where's the sequel!? It sucks that we'll never have a sequel with …

DuckTales Remastered is a warm nostalgia blanket with a few scratchy threads. The art is gorgeous, the music slaps harder than it has any right to and pogo‑cane bouncing is still peak platforming joy. The pacing can feel a bit museum‑tour‑ish and some levels age like milk. Still, it’s a fun little treasure hunt worth a weekend. [7.5/10]

i mean i do like this game but it just lacks content and its very short but besides that this game has very good osts and its great how they brought back the old actors from the old show well i can't complain the nes game was short as well its a remaster after all il just say this game short and sweet but your not gonna be coming back after you 100% it

Base Game - 9/10 Remastered version of a classic game. It features a completely new graphics, modern soundtrack, and voiced dialogs. There is an option to enable old soundtrack version, which is really cool. I absolutely liked the art style of Scrooge McDuck and NPCs which is authentic to TV show, however the in-game surroundings and objects (like obstacles, platforms, etc.) doesn’t match this style and, in my …

Critics, per Wikipedia
The PlayStation 3, Wii U and iOS versions received "generally favorable reviews", while the Xbox 360 and PC versions received "average" reviews, according to the review aggregation website Metacritic. The game's sales were "over-performing" according to Capcom's fiscal year report. Game Informer's Tim Turi called the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions "a carefully penned love letter that appeals to fans of the ‘80s show" that "blends the cartoon and the NES game together beautifully". Turi added that many of the original game's memorable moments are there but this time they "feel more balanced" and offer up some challenging moments. GamesRadar+'s Chris Hoffman called it "a retro revival done right".…

neutral · AI labelView post →fascinating little piece of game history for me to come across today. DuckTales: The Quest for Gold, amiga version. much of it is bog standard bad platforming and minigames, but most interesting was they went 'fuck it, put an entire stock market mechanic in there' for the kids.

neutral · AI labelView post →Speaking of the Moon, can we safely say that it was the setting for the best level of the DUCKTALES game on the original NES? Best music, too. This is my 37 years later hot take.

positive · AI labelView post →I think it's ok for adults to not enjoy everything they liked when they were eight years old I'm not a traitor to anyone or anything because I can't get back into DuckTales at 40 (the NES game is still good though)

neutral · AI labelView post →It is kinda funny that Ducktales NES is just one of the canonical NES platformers such that one doesn’t bat an eye when a new game takes inspiration from it. This could have happened to McDonald’s Treasure Land Adventure.
positive · AI labelView post →Ducktales Remastered Soundtrack - Moon Theme. You may not like this fact, but here it is: This remaster of a 1989 game was released in 2013. That's a retro remaster that is, in itself, getting retro!

I haven't felt in the mood to replay Breaking Da Rules since I made a video about it 9ish years ago (according to YouTube). For those of you who either weren't born yet when this came out, or were too old to play these kinds of license games. This is your generic Platformer with [INSERT FRANCHISE HERE] slapped on it. Akin to a Spongebob Squarepants, or DuckTales. This…

neutral · AI labelView post →Ducktales was so especially aggravating because not only were the original levels all horrible, but they dug the cartoon voice cast out of hospice to make them provide explanations for why you were in each level before adding a bunch of collectibles so you can’t blow through the game in 15 minutes.

A new two-player ROM hack for DuckTales 2 on the NES allows players to team up as Scrooge McDuck and Darkwing Duck, bringing together two iconic Disney characters in one game. neutral · AI labelView post →The Mega Man soundtracks really do. Capcom NES soundtracks were generally aces like that. Another possible answer I could have used - in terms of both its soundtrack and the actual game - is Capcom's DuckTales. THE SHEER SENSE OF WONDER AND ADVENTURE in the Moon Theme. Gah. How'd they do that?!

I generally watch a lot of horror movies, documentaries or 90s action b-movies, but there are times when I want something a little bit lighter; I want to feel the bittersweet warmth of nostalgia, the carefree attitudes of the characters and the silly, wholesome plot lines. As an early millennial I of course watched DuckTales, TaleSpin and Chip 'n' Dale, Darkwing Duck, Aladdin and so on... on Saturday and Sunday mornings…
neutral · AI labelView post →Happy 35 years to DARKWING DUCK! Loved this series as a kid. Right up there with Chip n Dale, Ducktales and Goof Troop. Also I suggest you play the NES game while you are at it!
neutral · AI labelView post →One of the miracles of NES DuckTales is that it's a rare case of a licensed game being so good that it actually affected the license itself, heavily influencing DuckTales (2017) with inclusions like the occasional pogo jump and the moon theme becoming an emotional plot point.
