What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 186 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (684 of 974 positive).
Players find the game charming but note it feels unfinished and buggy. [1][2][3] Some reviewers appreciate the unique animal focus and dreamlike atmosphere. [4][5][6] Many complain about frustrating quest progression and lack of guidance. [7][8][9]

I think I got my money's worth out of it, but ultimately I can't recommend it. It's unpolished and unfinished, but the devs have already largely moved on to other projects in the same universe. It's very cute, and easy to pick up. I really enjoyed the art style for the animals. It's nice for something I can turn my brain off for a few hours. The main questline is fairly linear - with patience you'll get to where you …

Bugs, Bugs, Bugs, and not the ones intended to catch. Great game idea, love so many parts, but seeing the paid dlc hit the store before so many game breaking bugs are addressed is a great example of priorities. Cant recommend in current state, one of the buggiest games played to date.

A cute little farming sim that plays a little different to the others. You get dropped off at your grandparents’ farm, where things have fallen into a bit of a state of disrepair, and are tasked with helping them rebuild it to its former glory, I guess? You can absolutely tell the developers love the game, and they’re constantly adding quality of life improvements and bug fixes. If you see any negative reviews, take …

Everdream Valley Master Review (2025 Edition) – Farmcore Crack for the Wholesome at Heart ⭐ 4.5/5 stars — Half a star deducted for bugs, but I’d still die for my chunky cow. Let’s get this straight: I LOVE THIS GAME. Everdream Valley didn’t just charm me — it straight-up kidnapped my free time, fattened up my animals, and made me emotionally attached to a digital goat that plays with a beach ball for fun. It’s cozy. …

First things first: If you're not a minigame person, this one may not be for you. You CAN skip the majority of the minigames, but for me, they're a part of the character of the game, and they really add a lot. Everdream Valley is a farm sim like other farm sims: clearly inspired by Stardew Valley and its predecessors and trying to bring something new to the table. I think it really succeeds in this, and the …

Critics, per Wikipedia
Everdream Valley received "mixed or average" reviews, according to the review aggregation website Metacritic. Fellow review aggregator OpenCritic assessed that the game received weak approval, being recommended by 36% of critics. GamesRadar called it "the perfect cute tonic for an evening after a long day of work". Digitally Downloaded wrote that Everdream Valley "feels rushed or incomplete" and fails to live up to its potential because of software bugs, counterintuitive controls, and what they felt was a focus on quantity over quality. Nintendo Life said it will likely not appeal to fans of farm life sims, but animal lovers may enjoy it. TouchArcade said too much of its gameplay feels…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Could be a lot better game if there was a point to things like fishing, ducks, truffles, other than selling for money. Annoying that you can't cook the fish, you can't get meat from selling the animals to cook with or use for food. You could get leather for clothes or saddles for the horses. The horse don't come until you are almost done with the game. A lot of glitches in this game as well, such as fish in the middle of the field. Co-op you only get one camera, one pick ax, so you have to…

Put bees in the hive, bees no longer there. quest to catch bees comes up.... There are no more bees around.... The other issues thats somewhat related to this is. The quest are awful set up for progression. Dont what to give anything away but... To make treats for your dog, you need to catch fish. To catch fish, you must do around 15 long quest to get a fishing rods. But there is other quest…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I tried really hard to like this game. I really did. Okay, buckle up, there's a lot to unpack here and I'm going to try and unpack it in as few words as possible. This is not a good game. Here's why: Accessing additional quests outside the ones pinned is impossible. You can accidentally break pretty much everything and set yourself back drastically because of it. The follow mechanic for animals consists of petting them and praying they follow the way you need them to. You can…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly? Very disappointed in the game. Nothing like it was advertised and very unfinished feeling. So many glitches and bugs. Why work on another game when this one is so unfinished??
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PROS: On the positive side, it's very cute. The animals are super cute. It has some nice gameplay quality of life choices like being able to collect stuff even if your inventory is full (extra items get sent back to your farm storage) and a basket that lets you collect things just by walking over them. CONS: - The graphics and camera feel wonky. I get a lot of frame-rate drops and laggy movement. Moving the camera compared to the map and walking feels off, though it's hard for me to articulate…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was really looking forward to playing Everdream Valley after seeing its cute trailers and reading some early positive reviews. The idea of combining farming with dream exploration seemed like a fun and relaxing experience. Unfortunately, after several hours with the game, my excitement quickly faded as I encountered a series of frustrating issues. What started as a promising adventure turned into a disappointing experience. Pros: - Art Style: The game’s art design is very cute and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When I first started playing, I was worried that this game would be too childish. However, I quickly discovered that it can be quite challenging at times. The game doesn’t provide a lot of instructions, so you have to figure things out on your own by exploring the world. I think the game has great potential. It was the first game in a long time where I wanted to design and decorate my farm. There are many possibilities, but I was discouraged because it’s difficult to align the different…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I only bought this game in sale to sit on the couch with my kids and it looked cute and fitting for them. What can I say? It feels unfinished, is packed with glitches and bugs, completely unoptimized in performance, takes the most time just running and is lacking basic features for managing storage and items. Overall, unfortunately, it's just "another cheap Unity Engine game". I will finish it because my kids like to play it with me, otherwise I would have refunded after about an hour. In the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My honest review is sadly not so good. Yes it's a nice game and all but I did pay full price and now it seems that DLC is yet another charge. Just like EA games did instead of paying for a game at a normal price you pay lots more for what adds up to updates. I will not do it. So I will not recommend this game to my friends. Unless you want to end up paying double or triple or more for simply a nice game I would stay clear of this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been experiencing repeated crashes with the game—around 40 so far (just today). While the game is enjoyable, it has started crashing randomly, especially after the mission involving the bull. In CO-OP mode, each crash causes items to duplicate, which detracts from the fun. The game crashes after varying intervals—sometimes after 10 minutes, other times after 5, and occasionally after 30 minutes. I really do like the game, but I can't recommend it until this crash issue is resolved.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had 3 stages playing this game. 1) This game sucks: the very early game is so boring and tedious, and the game mechanics suck. The biggest example is the dog—using a whistle to herd livestock, but this is soooo frustrating that I'd rather pet one sheep every 20 seconds and lead them slowly to its pen. And idk if the game isn't well optimized or buggy, but I caught myself being stuck in random places a few times. 2) You know what? The game is kinda fun: I really enjoyed the third to tenth…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game starts off as cute and cozy. The more you play, the more issues you see and the less relaxing it becomes as you are frustrated. So, I set it aside to give it time to improve. Now I look and did I discover it lived up to expectations? No. Reviews are going downhill and if you look at the updates, the last one was September of 2024. It now appears abandoned. I guess they have another game to work on and sell believing they have done all they can with this one.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So many ways to get stuck without hope of progress. You are given 4 dog treats to find the missing cow, which is required to progress, but if you mess up, there is no other way to earn, buy or make more treats. So, you have to start all over from the beginning. The movements are a bit strange, but you can get used to it eventually. The personalization of your character is really weak. Clothing is difficult to obtain and so far, my character still looks like a guy for the most part. The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I cannot recommend this game, at least not at full price. Maybe on sale, but here are my reasons: >> There are a lot of bugs for a game that is not considered to be early access. I had to double check this page to make sure it wasn't an early access game before posting this review. Some of them can impact the game. >> The quests are not easy to understand and often lead you to looking for answers online. This could be because English is not the first language of the developers, but I am not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a solid "meh", but on the more positive end. I don't feel super strongly about it, but I am also a hardcore enthusiast for cozy farm games so this is perfect for me. That said, some of the aspects of the game are wildly frustrating. I spend more time harvesting, drying, and putting out hay for my animals than anything else. I live on a farm irl, I have all kinds of farm animals. The fact that one sheep goes through one large square bale a day, is insane. I have 14 goats that…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was having a lot of fun with this game until I reached a quest where I had to go into some fog to find some keys. I found one of the keys before I was prompted to look for them and now I cannot progress. There is only 1 autosave so I couldn't reload a save before I broke the sequence. I tried anything I could think of to progress the quest but nothing worked. This is not something that should have been overlooked by the developers. It's a very easy sequence to break, I have seen multiple…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Glad that I bought this during a sale, because I'm not very happy with it. It is very cute and the ambiance is good. It really has the potential to be a good game, but it's lacking a lot of polish. ~ The controls are kind of janky. Example: There's "Use" and there's "Option", both of which are needed to use the tools. Also, the whistle function to use the dog to herd sheep uses the same control as the camera, so you can't see well while trying to control the dog. ~ Character will suddenly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In its current state I simply cannot recommend this game. The good: The game is very cute, and incredibly fun for the first couple hours. The artwork, music and concept are all spot on. However, my three major criticisms: 1. Content 2. Multiplayer 3. Bugs Content: At the moment, the gameplay loop is essentially: go find an animal, bring it home, do nothing with it, sleep, pick up the quest to get the next animal, rinse and repeat. I've just spent 10 hours in this loop and it didn't…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I genuinely never expected to be this disappointed with this game, It is so buggy atm, the demo was fun and I guess my expectation was too high. When its out I bought and play right away, it was quite okay at that time.. But I stopped myself to play more (which is one of my biggest regret rn) as I thought It would be better after some updates.. But when I get back to it, it feels a bigger mess than before.. So, what did I do? Dropped it again and give it some time.. Today, I come back to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a cute game. But, I played through the main game and the DLC quests, ran around to see what else there was to do, and the game feels unfinished. There are several items to collect that have no purpose. Like the "highly valuable" goose feather that you can't make anything with, and it's not needed for a quest, so all you can do with it is sell it for change. There are plums, pears, and other fruit/food that have no recipes to use them in. The DLC cut scenes just leave you hanging without…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too many issues. Too many bugs. Cant complete some quests early in the game as the quests that should trigger NPC's to give you items don't trigger those items. The first time I played, the game didn't trigger giving me the pickaxe which is required for some quests. I heard you have to restart the game completely to fix this wasting the time I had put in already. However, I liked playing so I did that. The second time I tried playing, it still didn't trigger being passed the pickaxe and even…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish I could give this a neutral rating. This games biggest sin is being insanely mediocre in a genre that requires innovation. Its not horrible, but there are games that do everything better, so why buy this one?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Multiplayer has so many bugs right now, you get stuck, your money disappears, game keeps crashing, dialogues stop everyone, can't access chests or shop simultaneously. The game isn't even in early access to justify, seems like they rushed the multiplayer mode, but the problems kinda kill the multiplayer experience.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the core gameplay is a reasonably good cosy farmer, the game itself is riddled with bugs where you can wind up losing hours or more of gameplay due to crashes.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Everdream Valley is a buggy mess. I'm not sure what single player is like, but playing with my friend was an awful experience, we encountered so many issues. His money completely disappeared mid-game, we got yeeted into parts of the map we shouldn't have been able to reach (there is no 'unstuck' option so you're trapped on random bits of land), and we got to the point in the main story where we had to put out some fires with the watering can but it didn't work, breaking the entire game and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →incredibly cute and charming. The art style is adorable, the concept is cozy, and on the surface it feels like the kind of relaxing farming game I usually enjoy. Unfortunately, the experience was constantly interrupted by glitches. I ran into issues where progress didn't always save properly, which made playing frustrating and stressful instead of relaxing. Losing progress after putting time and effort into tasks took a lot of the joy out of the game for me. When a cozy game starts to feel…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i would rate this 6/10. im choosing No because while it's playable and you can finish it, but... i feel there's some major features that need to be improved because there are points that could potentially discourage a player from continuing. pros: - cute and very pretty styling. - fairly large map - you can customize your characters and your farm - fair speed for farm and animal growth - you can interact with animals a bit, and the pets. the animals are super cute! cons: - sloooww walking…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a letdown. Jeez, if you create a big game world, at least don't limit the player's stamina if the standard movement speed is snail's pace. Ah well, at least I grabbed it in a bundle
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you want to be frustrated, and look every quest up on the Wiki, then this game is for you. The mini games at night are horrible. Some are downright near impossible. You do get an option to skip. Most of the stuff in the game is worthless. The fast travel is broken. You can only go between two places or three, but you have the ability to get lots of owls. Making them pointless if you can't get to them. You can't lock stuff down so your always picking up everything. Animals don't seem to eat…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Who ever made this game has never played farming games. this was the most frustrating and a mess of a game. multiplayer only the host triggers the achievements while others work dont count. quests order is all over the place, you cant even know which is first. overall 4/10.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just dishonour on the farming sim games. Was expecting a cosy game but the UI is just a mess and the mechs became too grindy or too anti-climatic. Will check again after further updates.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoy this as an older player. It's soothing, the quests are reasonably clearly explained, the art and environment are very well done to make it a great experience. The variety of recipes is nice and they are very logical and the ingredients are very true to life. I do have the dlc and it's worth it to have more playtime. I have only just gotten to the alpacas and I'm saving for the watering system. So wish me luck!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got both Everdream Valley and Everdream Village at the same time. They look cute and reminded me alot of the My Time at franchise. The game looks amazing and really cute, but there is nothing intuitive about the controllers and getting into diffrent windows in the game. It feels slow and clunky. I have alot of issues with the control. I'd love to enjoy this game, but if you're used to the "normal" intuitive hotkeys etc I don't recommend it sadly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yeah... its a no from me. I could have forgiven the missing items, the janky quests and the dull game play, but when you disappear our horse after 5 minutes never to be seen again AND jank my beautiful garden so my buddy things I'm a woeful landscaper, that is a STEP TOO FAR. Also the fact someone added 30 DIFFERENT types of butterflies, but all these other problems remain in the game (including the butterfly crack house) ... the mind boggles.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not fun, not not fun... It's some how right in between... Just really strange... It plays OK, have Pros and Cons, but once you quit from the game, it gives you no drive to play it again. Everything in the game feels "halved", kinda like they can be better, but they can't be bothered to even care...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to like Everdream Valley. The concept is charming: a magical farm life filled with animals, exploration, and dreamlike sequences. But sadly, the game is plagued with issues that make it frustrating to play — especially for longer sessions. The game is extremely buggy. Animals constantly disappear from my farm for no reason. I’ve had multiple moments where I get stuck in the environment, or worse, get randomly teleported across the map with no explanation. You can't even jump…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is very hard to recommend. If it wasn't so buggy and lacked instructions, I'd say it's a great buy! It has potential. But the creators don't answer when there is a bug. They have a discord where ONE beta tester answers and he isn't sure half the time. The game needs a lot of work and I've already put a lot of time in this game to give up. I want to thoroughly enjoy this game so badly, but after spending an hour trying to get horses across my map back to my farm - I'm just fed up and…

It was a little tedious trying to get wood from the trees over the huge farm and beyond, but I did it. Then comes the unlocking of the dreaming part of the game. In the first night the foxes broke ALL of my pens in several places. ALL and I mean ALL of my animals were roaming around free. I looked around at all the fences that would need to be fixed all over again (more than…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have read some comments about play-ability, especially where it relates to movement with the keyboard and character speed. I cannot speak to the use of a keyboard, but I can confirm there is ZERO issue with movement or player speed/controls using a hand-held game controller. As an aside, character speed can be increased using the LT on the controller. Player stamina will increase if you eat cooked food. In terms of overall play-ability of the game, I find it works fine, does not crash. There…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You eventually get stuck with the quests due to not having access to the tools you need to get there, and to try and get those quests you have to do a RNG game to choose the mini game hoping you can get a different mini game you didn't get access to to progress through the game, heaven forbid it's the wolf mini game, which WILL break your fences containing your animals that cannot be skipped like the other mini games. I believe I tried 30 nights to get a different mini game with no luck.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cannot recommend at full price. I very quickly ended up T-posing and levitating around, which could not be fixed by just performing actions, so first impression was that this game is buggy. In spite of the range of actions, I'd say this game is very linear because you are required to complete quests to access new activities and ideas. This makes it slow paced, especially when your stamina is heavily limited at the start. It's mostly running around picking things up and talking to your…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For a farming game, this is certainly a specific experience but still a good one. I went into this game thinking there'd be a town somewhere to explore and people to meet. The reality is you're on a large farmland and it's just you, your two grandparents, and a merchant not far from the farm. The map is purely forest and woods. There's no sign of civilization, and I wonder how my character's parents and I even got here. The focus of the game is animals. There's plenty of crops to plant,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game was released in an absolutely unfinished state and clearly needed at least some basic testing. I ran into a ridiculous number of bugs. For example, you can permanently sell mandatory quest items, which makes the quest impossible to complete. The only solution is to start a completely new save. Really "fun" when you've already spent several hours playing. The multiplayer is a complete mess. Quest items can appear for one player but be completely missing for the other. And even after…

The character customazation was not what I expected, but that was not a major problem, i went into the game and immediately closed the game and asked for a refund.
