Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is a 2013 role-playing video game compilation developed and published by Square Enix. It is a high-definition remaster of Final Fantasy X (2001) and Final Fantasy X-2 (2003), originally developed by Square for the PlayStation 2 in the early 2000s. Many reviewers note the PC port has technical issues like crashes and green screen cutscenes. [1][2][3]

Do not buy the PC version of this game as of now. It is plagued by constant random complete green screens in many cutscenes, and constant random freezes or crashes that often happen during animations. These issues do not have any known simple fixes or workarounds.

I'm shocked that this game has very positive reviews and its now clear to me the people who have reviewed this positively are people who are only saying how much they loved it back in the day - I adored ffx and its one of my favourite final fantasy games but this port is absolutely dogsh*it and completely unacceptable for a giant bloated company to not even put the time into porting this game properly. Such an amazing game!!! Just as good as it was the first time I played it 25 years ago.... If you haven't played FFX then you truly are missing out on one of the most legendary games.. P.S Download the "Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster {Anima Edition}" mod to allow widescreen and the 'FFX 4GB Patch" mod to allow higher ram useages to stop the green screens and crashes

I always find my self replaying this game. For me, this is the best Game in the Series. The world of Final Fantasy X is very Beautiful and the plot is Amazing. It has some of the most memorable Characters for me in the whole series. Auron being one of my favourites. This game is one of my favourites for a good reason. Overall i would HIGHLY recommend this game to anyone interested in trying it. (especially if this …

X is EASILY one of the best games I have ever played, it has my favourite battle system in a video game. This game has the most beautiful depiction of love and for someone who isn’t too big into romance in media it made me bawl my eyes out because you can just feel it yourself. Dare I say the third to last boss fight music is better than One-Winged Angel >_<

Critics, per Wikipedia
The remaster has received favorable reviews. On Metacritic, the Vita version holds a score of 86/100, the PS3 version an 85/100, the PS4 version an 84/100, and the PC version an 83/100. Reaction to the quality of the remaster was mostly positive. IGN's Meghan Sullivan said that despite the game showing its roots, it "looks and sounds dramatically better", though critiqued some textures, off-putting facial close-ups and lip-synching problems carried over from the original. GameSpot's Josiah Renaudin was generally positive, calling the visual upgrades "compelling reasons to revisit one of the most poignant entries in the long-running series", although he found the uneven graphical upgrade…

FFX-2 on the other hand keeps crashing randomly when i go into battle it's seriously frustrating. For those reasons alone (Having to install a patch and dealing with crashes) I personally wouldn't recommend buying it. Unless of course you want to tinker around just to make the game playable. Installing the 4GB Patch isn't…

neutral · AI labelView post →What can I say? Its been 25 years now... This is a once in a lifetime experience, I know it was for me. My father bought me this game prior to buying the console itself, he wanted me and my brother to have a little stash of games prior to sending the PS2 itself, so it sat there for a couple of months. I would mesmerize in the manual and cover arts, longing to finally play this, to see how amazing the new graphics were, and so the day came. As soon as I started the game and the intro scene…

To those who call themselves fans: I have conquered this masterpiece on PS2, PS3, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and now on the Steamdeck. I don’t just own the game; I own every version of Yuna’s journey known to man. Praise be to Yevon! Why this is the greatest achievement in human history: Final Fantasy X is not just a "game." It is a spiritual experience. It has the best…

I could have done so much more with my time. Why bother playing it again when YouTube exists, when I could just watch a playthrough, when there are a thousand other games I haven't touched? I don't know. Maybe I'm dumb. Maybe I'm not being efficient. But such is life. Sometimes you do stupid things for the things you love.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a great game. My favorite as a matter of fact. I just can't get past that you need workarounds to make it not crash every now and then. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Didn't play this game when I was younger so I played this with zero nostalgia and I have to say I was surprised by how good it was. The amount of leveling up you do with the spheres too is just insane, I would never of thought a game this old would be that good. It's another game that I would happily play again. I'll make note that all my hours are in X and I have 0 hours in X-2, so I am basing this review on one out of the two games only.

I cannot fix the constant crashes and freezing going on- including just firing the game up it likes to crash which is fun. I have tried everything suggested including a fresh install. neutral · AI labelView post →This is three games and 2 separate cutscenes packaged into one game. It's Final Fantasy 10 - great game, story that falls apart as you go but FF games are kinda famous for that being the norm. FF10 has all the stuff the International version had - namely, this has the Dark Aeon & Penance boss fights. These are ROUGH, but they justified the hours of grinding to maximize the Sphere Grid. FF10-2 has the Creature Creator - the ability to capture monsters and fight with them. Because random…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First off: My hours are deceptive, I PROMISE I am not that weird, you may be tempted to see how many hours I played of SMT3 but they're basically similar symptoms of the same disease. What I'm saying is I fall asleep with JRPGs open quite a bit. Now allow me to undermine that statement, because I have played through this game about 6 times, but never on PC. A key detail necessary for kicking this off is that the game is optimized for a smaller VRAM cache. If you don't understand what that…

neutral · AI labelView post →To anyone reading this, this game is one of the few games to have a grown man weeping and breaking down in tears by the end of the game. I love this game dearly and would recommend anyone who loves rpgs and story rich games to try it out even if you do not like final fantasy. You should try out the original on the ps2 for the entire experience but overall the remaster is what it is, a remaster and it does that job fine though expect crashes and bugs.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Final Fantasy X is a game I think everyone should have added to their bucket list. It is a game that had wonderous music, was shown on Toonami back in the days for a review, had a phenomenal story, people could relate to the characters good or ill, and it will be my 20th review I have done. Why is this game so fantastic? Why should you play it? Lets find out if this is for you. But firstly let it be known that this will be mainly focused on FFX. Not FFX2, I can't speak much on it since I have…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Final Fantasy X is a classic and impactful PS2 game from 2001. One of the best FF games and the last Final Fantasy that produced by Hironobu Sakaguchi. Already being a fan of PS1 era FFs I've played this game on PS2, PS3, PS4 and happy to be able to play it again on Steam. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game full of nostolgia unfortunately marred by nonexistent optimization that causes cutscenes (not even the full motion videos, the gameplay cutscenes) to turn into nothing but a green screen. No native fixes, third party 'fixes' are more like a band-aid than anything. Save your money, replay it on PS2 if you're lucky enough to still have it. The nostolgia is not at all worth the constant frustration of cutscenes glitching or the game crashing, necessitating replaying through content you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved the game, but it is yet another Square Enix PC port that requires patches. If you experience the Green Screen cutscenes, apply the "4GB Patch". It is a program to expand the game's available memory. Apply it to all 3: the launcher, ffx, and ffx2 exe files. I know that this patch fixed crashes for FF13, so it may here as well if you are experiencing them.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tried this game because someone important to me loves it. I'm not usually a big Final Fantasy fan, in fact I have never played any of the series, but this one really surprised me. The story was touching and left me wanting more after finishing. I haven't completed FFX-2 yet, but I hope it gives a good closure between Yuna and Tidus

neutral · AI labelView post →I just played through the FFX and it’s still just as fantastic as it was when I was a kid. I can’t, however, recommend this version. It stutters, crashes, and gives a green screen for any cinematic cutscene. I downloaded a 4gb patch fix from ntcore.com and it fixed just about everything, but it should be playable without downloading mods or community fixes. Get it together, Square Enix.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved this game since the PS2 release. I'd say for all the turn based FF's, this had a great formula for battle. Just lacking any form of 'active' battles. Best optimal experience these days using SpecialK, 4GB Patch, and a form of frame-gen, as the game engine is locked to 30fps. It looked great, especially the cut-scenes at higher frame rates, and brought back the fresh feeling at 120fps 2k. I used some of the highly endorsed HD packs from the Nexus too, mainly character models (I didn't…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you plan to play the games skip this port. Poor execution leaves the cutscenes playing out as green screens and characters being replaced with floating hair and accessories as the game is unable to render them due to built in limitations. You can mitigate this to a degree, but if I need to hunt down and install a third party patch just to make the game work as intended that is absurd. Looking at the positive reviews it apparent most of them come from people rating Final Fantasy X/X2 as games…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is good, the port is terrible. Crashes, green screen cutscenes, controllers inputs don't always register, just emulate it and play the original. Edit: Playing X-2 and don't seem to have AS many issues, but it's still a broken mess.

Does anyone know of a good list online of all the PlayStation 3 games that also released on the PlayStation Vita? I've suddenly realised the vast amount of really great games on the PS Vita since I never really knew much about them when they were popular and on the market (plus, I was a kid and a 3DS boy). So I realised that getting a Vita will be an awesome way to play PS3 games, for those that were ported. This will be perfect for me, because I'm…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I almost stopped my Final Fantasy-playthrough at IX, but people convinced me to play X. And thank god I did. FF-X is a great game with a great story and nice sidequests. Near the end is because slightly less interestjng, but the finale is good. The sphere grid is complicated if you think to much about is, but perfection is not needed at all for a casual first playthrough. FF-X2 however... I like the concept and the more comical presentation. But it is not my cup of tea. Somehow it feels like…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This review focuses only on Final Fantasy X and will be updated upon completing FFX-2. Final Fantasy X still puts other JRPGs and Final Fantasies to shame. SquareSoft took the number 10 seriously and made a 10/10 game for the PlayStation 2 in 2001. Even though the level design is linear, every area is filled with secrets, and each location feels different and almost open. The game motivates players to explore, take their time, and pay attention to their surroundings. It even surprises…
