Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 68 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mixed (97 of 144 positive).
Players praise the comic book art style and cyberpunk aesthetic. [1][2][3] Many find the gameplay repetitive and the controls frustrating. [1][4][5] Some reviewers note the game is short but enjoyable for its price. [6][7][8]

Target Audience: Those really liking the cyberpunk comic aesthetic Summary: Foreclosed is one of those games that you just hope that the developer learns from and gets a chance to make another game in the future, as potential is here with the interesting presentation style and different story camera angles, but it fails to deliver in the core experience of the game. You see potential at certain points and can see …

Final review after 3.8h and finished the game. I was wondering why I was levelling up so fast. That's because the game is so short. I love the comic book, cell shading stuff, the story is good. voice acting is also good. Shooting mechanic is plain bad. upgrading your gun seems like it does nothing. no key remap so you are all over the keyboard, tried with a controller it made the shooting even worse. some mechanic …

Is this game worth $17? Hell nah. But if you get it for, say, $3, it can be worth it, and you can have a good time if you can learn to deal with its various annoyances. Chief annoyance is the controls, which you cannot remap. Who thought it was a good idea to place them all over the keyboard is beyond me - there's the usual WASD for movement, E for interaction, C for crouch, ALT to roll-dodge, space/shift/1-4 for …

FORECLOSED is a third-person action game. It takes place in a cyberpunk world. When I first saw the game on Steam, the graphics peaked my interest. The comic book style narration and gameplay is great. You know, when reading a comic book, you play out the scenes in your mind. Playing FORECLOSED feels exactly like that. It's an interactive comic book. The story is classic corporate/secret experiments stuff, there'S …

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Review by [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/34633003-Gaming-Masterpieces/lists/] Gaming Masterpieces - The greatest games of all time on Steam. Is this game a masterpiece? No, certainly not. It is still an interesting cyberpunk adventure with some shooting, stealth and hacking. In the near future, everyone wears an implant in the head, but your implant is different. It has been modified without your knowledge, and it seems that someone wants to kill you because of that. You have…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's a thing I really admire about Foreclosed, and that's its story. Not so much the minute to minute writing - at one point a character describes a warehouse as forlorn and abandoned, "just like me" - but the big picture. Most modern cyberpunk takes a cheeky, sometimes sardonic, usually just flat out C-rate comedy approach to a nightmare corporate dystopia. Even the corpos get in on the gags! Dark, edgy humor about sharp dressed people with even sharper skills ruining lives for the average…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/_9aU1gpucZ8 The game features a lot a different gameplay mechanics and none of them really feel great. The worst it probably the shooting, which is a pretty big part of the game. The cyberpunk world and story is nice with some good intrigue, but the voice acting leaves a lot to be desired. Overall I have to recommend you pass on this one.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The little things add up... and unfortunately they are bad in this game. It's a simple game, which isn't bad, but what doesn't work well is the controls. Especially if you're using a 60% keyboard, you will have to alternate between using WASD and the arrow keys. WASD is for movement, and the arrow keys are for "hacking" the doors. You will have to switch back and forth between the keys in order to do so, and it is a very annoying thing to do. Also, the game's desire to make you use…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Truly horrifying and fatally incompetent (or lazy) game design. The shooting aspect has been done better in PS1 games from 1997/1998. I haven't seen enemy spawn this bad since Dragon Age 2. At least it was short, another 30 minutes and I couldn't have handled it anymore
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cyberpunk 3rd person action without any interesting ideas. Definitely not worth playing. Another game where comic should be a comic - not a game. Like a Liberated. But even there, gameplay was better. Here I have just one thing to praise - art direction. Here feel dynamic and style. Period. If that's enough for you and I persuaded you buying it - my condolences. Because this game doesn't deserve of your time. It's tasteless and hollow. Art style is good, but graphics aren't. Low poly textures…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Frustrating. Neat art direction and a thumping soundtrack can't save the awkward stealth moments and weak gunplay.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Apart from the comic-book style visuals and different story camera angles, the game is decent at best, but probably bad if you want to spend 20 euros on it and get your money worth. I couldn't even find the story interesting, especially when the voice acting was unbearable at times (at least for me) and as for the shooter experience, it felt clunky and not very satisfying. Even when you reach higher levels and unlock new abilities it doesn't feel like you made much progress combat-wise. Would…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent narration style, nice visuals, decent story, variety of mechanics, that sure, could be more polished, but the game plays nice and for the price is a must for every cyberpunk genre fan out there
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have to give props where it's due. Putting head bobbing into a third-person shooter without an option to turn it off? That’s not just bold, it’s visionary. Why settle for one nausea-inducing experience when you can stack it on top of another? The style is really cool though.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If looking for a graphic novel with some action elements Foreclosed can be a good fit. Even then, the gunplay aspects are too simple and repetitive. The art direction is pretty good but the underlying game mechanics fall too simple in my opinion. Also the voice acting is very subpar. It tries to resemble the Max Payne 1 type of dramatic voice acting style however it sounds again too simple and takes you away from the game due to lack of emotions in the voice or incompatible emotion in the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The shootout mechanics need a drastic overhaul. I initially thought that the issue lies with the PC controls which are beyond saving, but it does not get much better with a controller. Also, the game features an abysmal camera movement that needs fixing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've discovered the game Foreclosed: Amazing NPR visual style! I really like how gradient and outlines are managed. The shading that is bleeding outside the outlines is also really nice (3rd image, the hand). #games #gamedev
positive · AI labelView post →TLDR: Foreclosed, on its best day; is a visually decadent game that has no other particularly discernable strengths in any other department. Was really intrigued, but was unfortunately pretty disappointed. It's harmless, it didn't kill my family or anything, it's not the worst thing I've ever played. It shouldn't be understated; the presentation is wonderful. The in-game paneling and comic book influence on the aesthetic is absolutely fantastic. I just wish everything else were as polished…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a mixture of good and bad where the potentially good weighs slightly more. The story is ok, the graphics and the story telling are quite nice, especially if you liked XIII. The mixture of hacking, stealth and combat works for me (mostly). Without doubt the game has its generous share of issues: It is bad in conveying its intentions, so especially in the beginning you are not sure what to do. The keymapping is bad and cannot changed for the way you interact with the menus. The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just finished the game and thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience. The game is was just over 3 hours long, which felt like the right amount of time for the story being told. The execution of the story, narratively and visually (using the interactive comic book frames) was excellent! Despite being 3 hours long, there is actually a rich variety in the gameplay. You can approach combat situations the way you choose (using powers, or an upgraded pistol) and the environmental puzzles are a fun…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am liking the game so far - love the art style, comic-book storytelling and already got some stealth and hacking action ✌🏻 This hard change of genre is doing good things to my gaming sense 😂 #Foreclosed #PS5
positive · AI labelView post →Wow, this game really blew my mind. I wishlisted it before it came out but never got around to it until now. I have to say it was not what I expected, the comic book visuals went much deeper than I thought with some very creative camera work to realize interactive vignettes at time. I really appreciate this but at the same time am glad that it only used on some portions of the game, while the majority of it was from behind the shoulder 3rd person prerspective. This game is a short linear…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FORECLOSED is a story driven cyberpunk game that tells a great story in a cool comic book style. Combat is pretty simple, but overall a fun experience as you experiment with the various abilities in the game. The biggest problem is that the game is only a few hours long among other things. Check out my full review here! https://youtu.be/rKLcE8y2IYY
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finished the game 🫡 It was a nice change of pace. I can see so much potential in this game, like I can do a full stealth run like I did in Deus Ex Mankind Divided years ago. It’s short, but a pretty nice shooter if you go story mode 🙂 #Foreclosed #PS5
positive · AI labelView post →this game have a strong Max Payne vibe!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Foreclosed is an interesting stealth-action adventure game that offers a neat presentation and mildly interesting story. Whilst the gameplay could do with some polishing, it's not all doom-and-gloom if you stick with it. There is some fun to be had here, but sadly it's over far too quickly and could have done with some extra content, perhaps additional difficulty settings. If you desire a visually different game to play then Foreclosed is worth a look especially considering the asking price of…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My mini review of Foreclosed.
neutral · AI labelView post →Foreclosed's gameplay is a set of outdated and simple designs. Funnily enough, it reminds me of God of War. Basically there's style, working gameplay mechanics and a decent plot to keep you playing. You'll find nothing of epic proportions, but you'll find a shooter which does its job with enough challenge to keep you more or less on your toes, especially if you use a controller for an increase in difficulty. The puzzles are fun as well. It could've got too repetitive if it was longer. Yet my…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Story and art style are great. I love walking through those comic pages. A lot of love went into the level and character design. As a few other players, I also got stuck at the beginning of the game. I couldn't figure out how to hack doors. A quick tutorial would have been nice. The shooting mechanic is alright, but I was missing a cover system. You die pretty easily in the game, and it is a pain in the butt to go behind cover. In some sections of the game, the camera is also placed in terrible…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A short game but very enjoyable. Loved the theme and comic like style. It's like a short version of Cyberpunk 2077.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i really liked this, but its not something i would binge for more than 2 hours, so i will refund. pros: -great visual -stealth and hack is greatly implemented. -narrative is nicely implemented cons: -combat is boring -no melee or decent cover system. its nice, but needs more polish
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FORECLOSED offers cool gameplay mechanics wrapped up in a unique comic book style aesthetic that moves seamlessly from full screen to comic book panels as you make you progress through the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very interesting concept, love the style and the overall look :) I was stuck for a moment at the first puzzle as I didn't understand what I had to do (use the arrow keys), also when you close the game it could tell you how many minutes passed since the last save (as you can't save on your own apparently?)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WOW. FORECLOSED is one of the most stylist games I've played in awhile. negative · AI labelView post →So I picked this up for literally a dollar. It is worth a dollar of fun, has a striking art style, and a good use of fixed camera angles even if the AI is braindead and the stealth felt like an afterthought. HOWEVER, leaving this game idle for literally any time at all on my default brightness settings (Acer Nitro 27" monitor) caused burn in. A fixed scene staying idle for 30 seconds? Burn in. The pause menu? Longer burn in. I was able to clear it within an hour, but I have literally never come…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Of course it can. Investors can game the system like they did after the 2008 crash. Foreclosed homes were kept off the market for years to artificially reduce supply and drive prices up.
neutral · AI labelView post →Gameplay is junky, but not to the point of being awful. Story is simple and art direction is decent. On sale, this game is solid representative of indie sector
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →- Excellent game! - Great minimalist comic art style - Good playing mechanics (with controller) - Good cyberpunk story - No bugs - Good discounter price for this real great game - The only thing I am missing is turning down the background music in the option menu. The game is interesting and different from others. I hope there will be a sequel.

neutral · AI labelView post →7th game of 2024: Foreclosed (XS) On paper this game's comic aesthetic probably seemed cool, but really it just makes it confusing to see where to go and tell the difference between cutscene and gameplay. The shootouts against mostly stationary enemies aren't any more enticing.
negative · AI labelView post →This game has a really awesome look to it. Some of the puzzle parts are frustrating due to the camera angles. This game could have potential if given more time to work out a more complex and choice driven story line, and work out some of the gameplay kinks mentioned by other reviewers. Looked great on my 4K monitor, and it's definitely a fun 3 hour romp.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Foreclosed is a story game with some stealth and shooter elements. for me it was about 3-4 hours of gameplay. The game has some issues: I was several times clearly shooting over a wall but the bullets just hit the wall. The story is a bit predictable, and the enemy A.I. do leave something to be desired. Overall I definitely enjoyed the game, I got Foreclosed with the mindset of "I want a story to play through" and it nails that. If you want a story to play through for a few hours I recommend…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly this game just isn't for me. The art style is wonderful and I understand the direction the team wanted to go in, but the combination of awkward UI, hidden settings (only accessible from the main menu), and the aim design leave it a no-go for me. When aiming on a controller I hope to have control of where I am shooting, but even with 1 aim assist and reduce aim speed, it is difficult to get the right shot off. Combine that difficulty with enemies that are more sponge than foe and you've…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wishing there was a mixed review choice once again I think this game suffers greatly from having a very good first hald and extremely annoying 2nd... like painful 2nd half. The style and the setting is really cool although not that well explored honestly and the story was just there and alright while not being too memorable. 5/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i just finished the game and honestly I'm just going ????? The entire game and its mechanics make it feel like you're ramping up for something like a Resident Evil Bossfight, but then the game just ends on a chapter that's only dialogue. Also the combat just sucks. Like honest to god this entire gameplay loop is just 2 enemies, one has a shield, the other one doesn't. I had much higher expectations, but they never went anywhere with what's there. The enemies are also way too tanky. Even…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hey Steam comuunity. i write to you today with grave news. this game... is not good. do not be fooled. the cyberpunk athstetic may capture your attention, but the gun mechannics will quickly loose it. they say theres hacking in the game. i don't think there is. its like pushing 4 buttons somtimes maybe and thats it. it also hurts my eyes. thanks for coming to my ted talk, sleep well
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FORECLOSED is a narrative-driven action adventure developed by Antab Studio and published by Silver Lining Interactive that sets out to merge cyberpunk storytelling with the visual language of a living comic book. From its opening moments, the game establishes a striking identity, dropping players into a dystopian future where corporations wield total control over personal data, augmentations, and even individual identity itself. You step into the role of Evan Kapnos, a man abruptly stripped of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very short but very good. Its got a unique style that you dont see too often.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is what i call a hidden gem! The story is very gripping and held my attention the entire time. It's scary how much of this game is a real possibility in the not so distance future. The game play felt under cooked but the story is clearly the main point here. It's short and well worth it on a sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really want to like it. the story is interesting. but the voice acting is bad. the setting is interesting but the gunplay is so bad. there is no setting to adjust it at all too. the ai is almost braindead. the control is mid at best. there is no setting to adjust anything graphical or anything. 5/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very fun shooter game. I really enjoyed the visuals. It truly did a great job portraying the comic book style in a cool and dynamic way.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very stylized game, similar to "playing" a comic-book. Story is interesting enough that it kept me playing despite the relatively weak gameplay.
