Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 106 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mixed (166 of 240 positive).
Players find it a fun, mindless action roguelite with a quirky style. [1][2][3] Many note the game is repetitive and runs are too long. [4][5][6] Some criticize the black void censorship under skirts as a major flaw. [7][8][9]

I really thought the black void wouldn't be a problem but man it just wears on you, just a constant reminder that no, the fan service YOU like is not allowed in a literal fan service game but nobody else has to deal with this sort of nonsense for all THEIR tastes. I can't deal with it. There is zero reason I should HAVE to deal with it in games like this. The entire game is structured to tease this sort of content …

Update: 3rd boss and the next set of floors Update: Floors 80+. Reptition. Repetition. Repetition. A roguelike with a very unique style, ultimately brought down by a very steep price tag (50€, 45€ with the launch discount) and no run variety. I got it for cheaper on a website at 28€ and I'm fairly happy with that price, I'd feel scammed if I paid full price of 45€ for it. The ONLY upgrades you get during a run are …

Good, brainless fun. Colorful, entertaining, runs like a dream. Gameplay reminds me a little of Peach Beach Splash (RIP Senran Kagura - I'll never forgive Sony for killing you).

Scung in its purest form. If your the kind of person who Likes Yukes/Tamsoft/Cavia/Simple Series (Bullet Witch, Onee-Chanbara, etc) Games you will probably enjoy this. Biggest issues is that this is a roguelike which feels more like it is starting you off incomplete and then upgrading gets you the abilities you _should_ have had at the start, and it is _Very Repetitive_ in the long run. To be EXCEEDINGLY CLEAR: 5/10 …

Best 6/10 game I played in recent years. Nothing about this game is outstanding, but it's mindless fun with a bit stiff controls, yet it got me hooked for few hours. I wouldn't recommend at full price, but if you can get it at a sale, it's worth it. Some people are bothered by censorship, but it's just black void instead of pantyshot, which to me, a man of culture, isn't really a big deal. Go look at the screenshots …

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's funny to me that Full Metal Schoolgirl, a silly D3 Publisher budget action game, is one of the only media in recent years that I've seen use zombies as an allegory for being enslaved even after death as it was in Haitian folklore rather than the directionless killers of most modern zombie media
positive · AI labelView post →Why would I recommend a game that has been hit with censorship where there are black voids under the main characters' skirts at most times? I thought we're already through this dreadful era of censorship. I'll gladly take my money back and put it elsewhere that is away from this game.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is censored. Because of that, I cannot recommend the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game felt promising starting out but it seemed to get worse the more I played. The game has weird censoring. They seem to poke fun at it but it looks bad.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Also today (although possibly priced a bit high) - the most Yukes/D3 game that could possibly exist: FULL METAL SCHOOLGIRL. It honestly looks like dumb fun.
neutral · AI labelView post →It's a rogue lite. You'll be grinding the same floors for quite some time. Not worth the price, wait for sale.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game gets worse as you go on. Started off pretty good... this is basically a Simple Series title off of the PS2. Very basic, very repetitive. But the gameplay itself is pretty mindless fun. However, the fun factor falls off a cliff around floor 50. The amount of AoEs and traps you have to dodge in EVERY room is nonsensical. The mini bosses throw AoEs. There are traps all over the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ floor. There is an abundance of objects blocking your shots. Past that, the amount of traps that spawn out…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yuke's: We have 1/20 the budget to make Full Metal Schoolgirl, but that won't stop us from sneaking in the most Nier Automata-coded boss to be put into a video game since 2017 while nobody was looking. As a treat. 😌
positive · AI labelView post →Good, brainless fun. Colorful, entertaining, runs like a dream. Gameplay reminds me a little of Peach Beach Splash (RIP Senran Kagura - I'll never forgive Sony for killing you).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →finished Full Metal Schoolgirl! The game starts with a disclaimer saying it was not made under exploitative conditions, and ends with you defeating a giant robot megazord made out of dipshit bosses and making the CEO of an evil company piss himself. 10/10 7/10 game. Fun blastathon roguelite.
positive · AI labelView post →Beginning to realize my posts in the last 24 hours have potentially made Full Metal Schoolgirl a more respectable game than Metacritic has perhaps led you to believe and I'm reminded that my tastemaking powers, such as they exist, are terrifying and to be feared, most of all by yours truly.
positive · AI labelView post →So many problems here. Runs take too long. Traps appear way too frequently killing the flow. Some rooms are tiny and the camera freaks out so you can't even see yourself getting wailed on. 2 Cutscenes every time you augment. Loot is entirely underwhelming most of the time. Bizarre censorship that looks really silly There are more but i've wasted enough time on this game already. Don't touch this unless it's on steep discount and even then be prepared for monotonous repetition and frustrating…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My opinion of the game after another session is worse than the review below here, but finishing the game and playing endless mode retained my feelings weirdly. I honestly hesitate to recommend this title. It isn't bad but it really isn't that good either. I've added a few more points and striked anything I no longer agree with. If you are interested in this game for the vibes, may I recommend a game called Nitro Express instead? Early review, I've currently reached ~level 45 in 5 runs. It…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's okay, I'm enjoying the roguelike aspect of the game. Not enough DLC outfits on release (maybe some outfits drop during raids?). Black void under dress is slightly annoying especially when some other games from this publisher don't have this issue. But age rating be damned, what can we do - maybe through a mod later. P.S. Someone already made the mod. God bless.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Full Metal Schoolgirl is less a game than it is an exercise in frustration and masochism. I made it about halfway through and decided I really didn't need to see any more. The game's main problem is that it didn't learn a critical lesson from Earth Defense Force 6, a game that came out a full three years before this (in Japan) which fixed the exact same issues this game has: weapons that took forever to reload and generally weren't fun to use. Full Metal Schoolgirl has half the weapon…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: Horrendous keyboard and mouse implementation. Also, feels more like a 20€ game. When you're near traps it doubles your sensitivity, some rooms have traps and enemies, so you'll just have to play with double sensitivity all of a sudden, wonderful. My "favorite" is when there is a sudden trap sprung and you're meant to turn 180 degrees and run back, well, double sens means that the mouse motion for 180 degrees now equals 360 and you just made a 360 no scope get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ move... Not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I finished Full Metal Schoolgirl. It's okay. It's mindless fun for a rogue-like game but gets super repetitive the further you advance. While I like the designs of the protags, there isn't much of an actual story outside of the premise for me to care about them. I'd give this like a 6 out of 10.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wouldn't pay $45 for this game with DLC or pre-order. The game is fine, build yourself stronger to get higher floor but with dead brain enemy (I only get to first boss) it not worth the time. I don't like the dialogue, it dated or just unfunny with few reference. It feel like $15 game and not $45 I pay for. 7/10 something to play when you're dead bored ---{ Gameplay }--- ☐ Classic ☐ Got to git gut ☐ Casual ☑ Mehh ☑ There "gameplay" ☐ Pure Malice ☐ Just don't ---{ Story }---…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nobuyuki Okajima (D3Publisher - Producer of Full Metal Schoolgirl & Earth Defense Force 6) 1) Clash of Clans 2) Helldivers 2 3) Tekken 8 4) Suika Game 5) Earth Defense Force 6
neutral · AI labelView post →tldr: it's not worth playing, even if it was way cheaper. If the game goes 90% off, I don't think it's worth it. Anime girls and robots, I was so excted! Sadly it is REALLY underbaked. - Movement feels bad. - Very repetitive voice lines, would be better not to have any. - Forced cutscene every few minutes. For a game about hack and slash, I want to be sprinting around, dodging and shooting, not forced camera pan at a treasure chest that contains 5 rupees. - nitpicking but limited controls…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Alright, so, they fixed the issue where being near traps caused your camera sensitivity to skyrocket, so the game's not practically unplayable in sections anymore. Anyway, the game's actually pretty fun. It's made by YUKE'S, which are the devs responsible for Earth Defense Force Iron Rain and World Brothers. Fortunately, the shooting feels much more like the latter. As a rogue-lite, it has some problems. The runs are too long (like, 1.5-2 hours per stint), and mods (the passive items) are far…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →How about instead of complaining that you can't look up underage girls' skirts, or complaining that a Japanese game is sexualizing them like you didn't know that's exactly what you were signing up for when you bought this thing, we review the actual game please? Full Metal Schoolgirl is a roguelite shooter where you fight through a 100-floor dungeon. The gameplay's fun, the writing can be pretty entertaining, and the voice acting isn't perfect, but is actually pretty good, which was a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a fun and quirky shooter. Levels get harder as you progress, but the perks get better. Not for everyone; however, if you enjoy niche titles, it's a nice little gem to kill time. I love it. PS- This works 100% on SteamDeck! I hope they adjust the "unsupported" label. I prefer this game in handheld mode.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would give this game a mid rating if it was a option. I have a fondness for D3Publisher so I'm also bias, keep that in mind. The game is a action roguelite where you climb a 100 floor tower "freeing" employees with your firearms and chainsaw. It's fully voiced, it has some weapon variety but nothing crazy, and it is fun. If your expecting some Binding of Issac level of synergy your not going to find it here. It's very tame and more on the level of YUKE's other titles. The game commits a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Games pretty boring, there are some satisfying combat but its soured by the stiff controls. The platforming sections are also absolute cheeks, most rooms are very tiny filled with a lot of clutter, traps in the hallways are very frequent: all of this makes it difficult to enjoy running through the building moving people down. Some technical issues I encountered to was some texture popping on the player character in certain enviorments and the game resetting my mouse sensetivity at seemingly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To break it down in the most simplest terms, this is the type of game that you play in the background on a discord call or while youtube plays in the back ground. It dosen't have anything going for it but grind and forcing you restart after every boss until the CEO. The enemy types like the bomber guy is stupid and depending the diffculty they spam him everywhere. The perfect dodge system is stupid, basically "hey stand still and neutral dodge to perfect dodge" instead of the devs making like…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fun for the first hour or two, then it just becomes very repetetive and dull The idea is there but amount of poor and not necessary decisions just brings it all down I could mention the positives of this game, but unfortunately they are hidden under a layer of black void
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's slop but it's good slop.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heads up to Steam Deck players; no idea why this is unsupported, low settings + high AA seems more than fine? This is otherwise a bog standard 3D hack and slash. very repetitive and a dumb plot. Feels like a budget Hi Fi Rush, but that game oozed style and was hella inventive. This is just passably fine at best, and horribly bland at worst. Worth it in a bundle, but alone... *maybe* wait for $20 or $15.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun but is too repetitive.... and i was in a level for more than 3 hrs without knowing if i was advancing sry is a nice concept but i hope some things change
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very repetitive, not fun, very punishing you have to scale 100 floors, a boss happens every 10 floors, every 20 floors you earn a single keycard that can be used only once to skip 10 floors. Progression is slow, they really want you to play the first 29 floors over-and-over. Really wanted to like this game as I love the other games under D3Publisher, anime girls and guns but this was really bad. Being locked in a room every couple steps and having to break thousands of boxes to earn materials…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Waste of time + Money= level grid tower climbing and rage quit the only this game has good the full metal body queen song and opening to this game $45.00 rip off buy at $10 to $5 game better play rabi ribi or a touhou video game gori cuddly carnage the game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Exceptionally simplistic to the point of simply lacking content, variety, and any differences to your runs. It's way too simplistic even if compared to similar "mostly fanservice" games. There are far better roguelike shooter games costing $5 that this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty good, but wow, you cant reduce music volume below 10% is a MASSIVE negative I'm trying to blast Gucci Mane while i look up skirts. Wait... you cant even look up skirts it throws weird shadows like she is wearing shorts all of the sudden WTF. just make her wear shorts under the skirt if you want to censor the panties that bad, like damn.... I'll wait for mods before i finish the game. Unfortunate. 6/10 so far but i wont continue until this weirdo stuff gets worked out(or mods fix it).…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Full metal schoolgirl is a game that I didn't realise was a tower climbing rougelite but honestly I'm glad I didn't, it was a fun, silly experience with some surprisingly cool and silly moments, as well as a heck load of weapons, some a lot better than others, in a ways to it's detriment but not enough that it's a bad time dood. So the game focuses on two characters, Ryoko and Akemi who you will have to make sure to think on who to choose carefully, for reasons o3o and they have a personal…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Throw in the specials and pod attacks, which both come in a variety of forms and can shore up your weaknesses, and you have a game where you always have a staggering number of combat options. Don't let the trailer footage and publisher fool you: Full Metal Schoolgirl has a ton of meat on its bones.
positive · AI labelView post →Mmmm yes, anime babes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun brain off game gives me the feeling of the early Simple 2000 series of games ngl you just go room to room and shoot or slice what ever is in front of you and the rougelike elements make it not feel old fast i'll recommend the game but I'd say get it on a lower sale $45-50 is kinda steep for this games simplicity P.S Akemi thighs
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NGL people dont know the definition of censorship and are filthy gooners. No game across any region had any changes made to the characters. Stop being filthy perverts and if you cant there are plenty of those games to get your jollies off on Steam. What a bunch of stupid nonsense to leave a negative review over.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only played a little bit so far but am looking forward to playing more. It's such a simple game, almost plays like an indie-rogue like, but the core gameplay feels decent. The movement isn't great but it's fluid enough, the enemies' attacks are mostly well communicated and the aiming is alright. There's a good selection of weapons and upgrades too. The enemies are kind of repetitive but there is some variety. The overall theme of labor exploitation is appreciated and overt, and I do really hope…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →8/10. this game is genuinely fun. the humor is super gooner-coded in the best way and it makes for a really entertaining stream if you're a streamer. it gives lollipop chainsaw vibes with how over-the-top and visually pleasing it is. a lot of people complain about the black shadow when you look under the skirt, but honestly... it's not that deep. yeah, the game teases a lot of lewd stuff, so i get why some folks feel weird about it. but if you're normal and not a full-blown creep, it's really…

positive · AI labelView post →Mindless, grindy, and a 100-floor run can take you over 7 hours. If that sounds like fun, grab it on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its anime girls and big guns what more could you want
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it is everything it says on the tin, it is a fun, rogue like that will keep you laughing the whole time with its whole hearted leaning into of its jokes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably play and stream FULL METAL SCHOOLGIRL when its on sale. I am not paying that much for a Simple D3 game
neutral · AI labelView post →Full Metal Schoolgirl is a really fun and funny action game, but unfortunately it's held back by two major things. One is that the camera gets extremely awful whenever you have to do any platforming, which makes the platforming much harder. The other is that it takes inspiration from roguelikes and so most of your powerups on each run are randomized, but unfortunately the majority of main weapons (guns) are complete crap, so you often end up still using a gun from twenty floors ago... Anyway,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Full Metal Schoolgirl might be the funniest game of all time for fully modeling under the girls skirts but actively choosing to put a black void censor over it when you try and get an upskirt the steam discussion page is 90% people crashing out over this, it's beautiful
positive · AI labelView post →Got this game when it came out. Played it for about 2 hours so far and so far I've enjoyed it. It's a fun hack n slash/shooter game. I've so far managed to make it up to the 10th floor. I enjoy some of the lines from the enemy bots. Though I can see that it may feel a bit repetitive the longer I play, but til I feel that, I enjoy this game and recommend if you like roguelite games, going in, going so far, dieing, upgrading yourself, going back in to try to get further and more resources for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a really good rogue like, but the routes between bosses and basic progression are abysmal. If you like 2-3 hour runs, then this is the game for you. I personally can't recommend it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ain't the best, but I liked it enough to get all the achievements.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring, grindy game. Makes Dynasty Warriors look like a masterful RPG.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun action arcade shooter game roguelike game with completely randomized dungeons to fight through with lots of traps and enemies
