What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 180 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (2,595 of 3,469 positive).
Players praise the gameplay and mechanics but lament the game's low player count and lack of support. [1][2][3] Many reviewers criticize the forced WB account requirement and always-online nature. [4][5][6] Some feel the game should have been part of Hogwarts Legacy rather than a separate title. [7][8][9]

ABANDONED - DO NOT BUY I was absolutely excited for this game as a big Potterhead, was even in 2 playtests and the game had great potential but it sadly got fumbled pretty hard. Only buy this if you are okay with PvE only and are aware that a end of service announcement is probably not far away. Game is always online, even for PvE so keep this in mind.

I knew this game wasn’t gonna be super good when I bought it, purely judging from the reviews. What I didn’t know though was that the reason for it being bad is that once you pass the tutorial segment it is just an empty shell of nothingness. First and foremost, I wasn’t super happy when I first launched this game and found out that they force you to sign up to WB in order to play. So, after giving them money for a …

This game surprised me, It's really fun and balanced. If they had made it DRM free or free-to-play, with seasons and good post-launch support, it would have been really nice. Unfortunately, the game flopped as results of these and other problems, even though the gameplay is quite solid. I suggest you to buy it on sale, and only if you're a die-hard fan willing to overlook a lot of obvious flaws. Pros: I noticed they …

Well, it’s definitely Quidditch—I remember playing the beta and really enjoying it. When the game officially launched, though, I was less than impressed. Instead of keeping matches at 6v6, they reduced them to 3v3, which forced players to double up on classes. Thankfully, this was later changed, adding a 6v6 option where you could play as a Chaser, Beater, Keeper, or even a dedicated Seeker. That update seemed to …

I enjoyed playing it single player but when the game came out it was bad for single player. And playing online was extremely hard and unbalanced. Now online is dead. WB doesn’t care about this game. Please make it possible to play offline single player so the game is not dead when you shut off servers.

64% of the 180 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions. The complaint that keeps coming up: forced WB account sign-in required to play. Deal-breaker or nitpick?
Critics, per Wikipedia
Quidditch Champions received "mixed or average" reviews, according to review aggregator platform Metacritic. Fellow review aggregator OpenCritic assessed that the game received fair approval, being recommended by 25% of critics. While the lack of microtransactions was praised, the striking distinction from Hogwarts Legacy in visual fidelity was also noted. IGN praised the gameplay mechanics but criticized the lack of story-driven modes. GameSpot highlighted the graphics and online mode but felt it did not innovate compared to previous QM titles. Despite being one of the biggest PS Plus games of 2024 and boosting the PS Plus September 2024 player count, Quidditch Champions dropped in…

Choosing—and yes, it is a CHOICE— to license Harry Potter in 2025 sends a message: "We do not care about trans people." No amount of Miku or trans-colored cosmetic items can make up for this. bsky.app/profile/jazz...

negative · AI labelView post →Y'know given all these niche products are suddenly popping up with Harry Potter licenses, I wonder if Rowling is having trouble moving the brand. You make a quidditch cup game, give few offline options for the campaign, develop quite the fun gameplay mechanics and responsive controls, some decent enough customization options, but turn it into a live service where you can only play with a friend on online matches, cannot set 1v1 or make closed rooms so you and your friends can organize their own matches, have the legacy characters be SKINS rather than separated entities/separated teams, and leave the "live…
