The core gameplay is solid but there is a serious lack of content. I got 100% completion within 9.5 hours. There is a very limited pool of enemies and events so most runs are very similar. Also, the balance is all over the place with most battles being mindlessly easy with an occasional sharp spike in difficulty. So the start of this game was enjoyable. The first character unfortunately is probably the only one worth playing. When you unlock the rest and try them out they seem like the battles were not balanced for them at all and some of them can't even get done with a run without lots of grinding/investment. The game battles overall are either really easy to beat or impossible to do. Dots are overpowered and don't fall off over time. This breaks the game or makes fights impossible if you're on the…

Hunter’s Moon is a roguelite deckbuilder where the player must protect Victorian-era London from werewolves and other strange monsters. Combat will feel familiar to fans of other deckbuilders, while the progression of each run is very similar to Menace From The Deep. Combat • At the start of each turn you’ll randomly draw a few cards from your deck, which allow you to attack, defend, or perform special abilities such as applying status effects to yourself or an enemy. Cards cost energy…

Somewhere between Menace of the Deep's complexity and sometimes insane difficulty spikes, and this game's simplicity and boring, if easy, road to victory, there is probably a great game. This game is a dumbed down version of Menace w/ less story, easier progression, and it really doesn't take long to see just about everything the game has to offer. Which isn't much, even for a fan of Menace like I am. I would say pass or buy on deep discount, you'll finish almost all of it too quickly to really…

This game is a roguelite deckbuilder (compared to the rpg with tarot cards of the first game) and I have managed to unlock the next agent after 2.5 hours, the missions are interesting and although some can be a little repeatitive i think it is worth the money and with the other agents you can continue the storyline. I think this game is okay overall. It isn't hard and the grind of going for 100% like in Menace of the deep is a lot shorter. It's fine for what it is but there are several pros and cons about this game that I should get into for anyone looking for a roguelite deckbuilder. Overall the artstyle is nice and the sound track isn't bad either. It's very stylized and that isn't a bad thing at all. Meta progression feels pretty good like it makes a massive difference in your power, but there are draw…

To be honest it was very boring and not engaging at all. I skipped all the story text because it was not interesting at all. So much grinding, repetition, and endless loops. The first 3 levels are doable, but the last 4th one is not doable at all, unless you are willing to repetitively grind for a whole bunch of days to try to level up your characters to try to take on the last 4th level. Regretting all the time wasted into this. Recommend investing your valuable time elsewhere.

It's a deckbuilder that takes elements from Menace From the Deep, Slay the Spire, and some art direction from Darkest Dungeon. The gameplay is similar to Menace, but instead of 3-4 rounds using the same deck and relics, Hunter's Moon breaks it into four separate areas that force the player to restart a deck and relics each time. This eliminates the ability of breaking the game with too many relics and/or bloating a deck over a long game. In theory, this should make things more challenging and…

Unfortunately pretty poorly balanced. Most encounters are either a complete joke and then a few that are completely unwinnable are sprinkled in. From what I saw, there doesn't seem to be much depth either. Almost all the cards I saw are just "Deal X damage" or "Gain X Block". Seems to be pretty grindy to unlock other characters too. Shame cause the visuals/setting seems pretty cool.

Hunter’s Moon: A Sovereign Syndicate Adventure is a standalone, card-driven tactical spin-off set in the world of Sovereign Syndicate. Instead of the original’s RPG structure, this entry focuses on run-based progression, party combat, and branching encounters presented through a choose-your-own-adventure-style card system. Pros ✔️ The card-based encounters are a great fit - The choose-your-own-adventure structure works really well here and makes each run feel reactive rather than scripted. ✔️…

In the week since I’ve gotten Hunter’s Moon, I’ve put more than 30 hours into it. While it has a few fun twists on common rogue-like deckbuilder mechanics and a solid theme, I suspect it grabbed me because of how powerful the characters feel when they revisit old locations or find the right synergies. But initially, I had mixed feelings about the game, because the first few locations seemed too easy to provide a sense of accomplishment. I kept waiting for an optional way to ramp up the…

I picked this up after playing "Menace from the Deep" (it was recommended) and I was really pleased with the game. Addictive gameplay loop, cool cards and upgrades etc. I quite liked the variety of missions - gave me something to keep coming back to play. Characters were pretty decent if a little archetypal. I couldn't find fault with much of anything - except H.U.G.O. - H.U.G.O. is about as useful in battle as a marzipan sword.

This game is absolutely amazing, it's a real shame that is let down a bit by the pacing... I completed all 4 acts and only lost 1 run - it made it a bit easy and ruined the fun of the replayability a lot - it would be nice if they'd made you work harder to get through the act and require a bit more meta progression to do so, and potentially being able to use all the characters a bit before getting to the end. I think just a little more time from the devs and it would have been a true epic game…

Fun game. Likely not a lot of replayability after you finish the game, but the game is really fun so far. I'll get my money's worth.

This can be a fun few hours, not many as the game lacks a hook for the replay value, at least for myself. Pros: Fun deckbuilder that allows you to create some fun combos, ie. the last boss killed himself on my run thanks to my ability to stack debuffs . The art hits that eldritch scratch. The story is ok Cons : Short, if you don't go for completionist type playthrough First character feels very weak compared to the second one that you unlock, with which I "steamrolled" the rest…

Hunter's Moon: A Sovereign Syndicate Adventure If you like deckbuilders and really beautiful Victorian steampunk art, this game is a must! The graphics are so pretty, the creatures are fantastical, and the combat/mechanics are easy to understand. store.steampowered.com/app/3877790/...

For those who enjoy Across The Obelisk Or Menace From The Deep, Hunter's Moon is a superb card deck turn-based game. The devs present mission structure in a very clever way, offering plenty of variety in objectives and playthroughs. By the time the title "Moon" mechanic comes into play, the pleasantness of the ease of the game has evolved into something more challenging. A fun, fair card-battler experience, hopefully with more to come in the future from the devs.

Highly Recommend!!! Fantastic game! Think Darkest Dungeon meets Slay the Spire. Tough decisions, tight deck building, and brutal combat enounters. The art is stunning, and the voice acting brings the Lovecraftian atmosphere to life. The Tarot cards add a mix of strong buffs and horrible debuffs that leave you questioning if it's stupidly strong, or it's gonna ruin your run lol. I'm still early / mid game, but it's easily my favorite roguelite game of the year!!!

Quite enjoyable game. Similar enough to Menace from the Deep to be different, but also similar enough to be easily playable. A couple of minor issues (the Lichen Elite in the woods either needs to lose the regen for its spawns or lose the amount and frequency with which they are generated, or perhaps both. Lower level builds can't cope with it.) But in all, nicely done from an artistic standpoint and the game itself has plenty to do. Looking forward to playing more.

Super fun deckbuilder. The Victorian Steampunk art style is honestly incredible and it looks so good in motion. All four characters play totally differently, so the runs don't get stale. If you're into roguelites for the vibes and strategy, definitely pick this up.

This is such an insanely fun game! I'm always looking for a great, straight-forward deck builder that is stylish, fun to play, and has a lot of variety and this game absolutely hits. I want DLC for this stat! I can't wait to play more of it!
