What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 48 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (101 of 114 positive).
Players praise the game's atmosphere, art, and music. [1][2][3] Many note the game is very short, often around 30 minutes to 2 hours. [4][5][6] Some reviewers express concern that the story ends on a cliffhanger with no sequel in sight. [7][8][9]

Can't currently recommend the game because this is just a small piece of whats supposed to be a much bigger story. It doesn't really get too interesting until the end of the game... which is a cliffhanger. Given that the game is around two years old now, i doubt we're going to see another part soon.

Aya Brea from Parasite Eve, trapped inside of Twin Peaks Ash Pines, done only the way Stranga can. Really love the art, atmosphere, and music for this one. Have no idea when the next "tape" will arrive, but I'm looking forward to more of this story regardless.

Great little game. Better than the first one for sure. My only complaint is that this game is too short... like 30 mins short.

Just Ignore Them: Brea’s Story Tape 1, developed by Stranga Games and published by GrabTheGames, is a haunting, narrative-driven prequel that offers a deeper dive into the eerie mythology first introduced in Just Ignore Them. While the original game followed a young boy plagued by monsters, Brea’s Story shifts the focus to an ambitious journalist, Brea Tena, who stumbles into the twisted town of Ash Pines in search …

An excellent way to spend an hour and a half, or more, or less time. It features a high probability of being excitingly extorted and best of all A beautiful, interesting game perfect for anyone who likes Puzzles adventures. The soundtrack and visuals were wonderful and well-polished, and the story was nice with a few sweet surprises. Nothing feels out-of-place or frustrating - everything fits well together Other …

Can't you play something fun instead?" UPDATE: My main issues were promptly fixed. Leaving this review up because it shows a good dev response (see comment section) and a different opinion also on other aspects of the game. I would now recommend it more generally to people who don't mind it being retro in every way. *** There might be a cool story there,…

neutral · AI labelView post →Finished Just Ignore Them. A decent little indie horror point & click adventure. I liked the characters even though my time with them was pretty short due to the game being only around 2 hours long. Story has some neat little twists but gets a bit messy near the end tho.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if someone suggests you play ffxiv JUST IGNORE THEM; they will gaslight you and lie to you to get new players. they are extremely friendly to new players because retention near impossible when the game is a monthly subscription and forces you to do several hundred hours of story to get to content

neutral · AI labelView post →Just Ignore Them: Brea's Story Tape 1 is a construction kit copy + paste game. The "developer" used the craptastic Adventure Game Studio video game construction kit, copying + pasting and arranging badly made assets on the Adventure Game Studio top down engine, using premade level design tools so they could pretend they're an actual game developer. The result is something that looks like a JRPG but isn't even that deep, just a badly written adventure story that's frankly painful to play due…

neutral · AI labelView post →I really enjoyed this. The setup and characters are all just great and I liked the few references to other games. The only real negative here is that it doesn't seem like a Tape 2 is in the works. I would love to see this story continued someday.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brea's Story is the first part of an extended experience related to Just Ignore Them, serving as a prequel and a great setup to the latter game. It's a simple adventure affair with some light horror and puzzle elements in a really charming 8 to 16 bit graphic style and overall aesthetic. The developer gets a lot out of a little here with lots of nice little touches and characterisation. Just enough to be spooky but not so much to be difficult to get through. I had just completed Just Ignore…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had a nice day playing the rest of Just Ignore them, and raiding out to @nikokotee.bsky.social! She's a super sweet person. :3 Next I will be playing Just Ignore Them: Brea's Story Tape 1. This game is a spin off with nods towards the original story, so I'm excited to play it. 💜🔮💜
positive · AI labelView post →THANK YOU! This game doesnt have grid based movement and you can move diagonally. I have complained a lot about that with a lot of RPG Maker games or games made with similar engines (Edit: In this case Adventure Game Studio). Anyway, this is much better than Just Ignore Them but there's no autosave and for me the game had a graphical glitch that prevented me from seeing what I was doing on the screen and the game crashed. Naturally I lost progress because I didn't decide to save every time I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An interesting start, hopefully we don't have to wait too long for the other tapes. The premise is pretty interesting and well-executed for what is it, it's a little less comical than the Sister series, but that's to be expected when the protag is a journalist investigating a murder rather than a teenage girl with no time for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lol Interested to see where it goes, the Stranga charm is ever-present but it does unfortunately end quite abruptly and send you back to the main menu in an…

Just Ignore Them Brea's Story Tape 1 is a story driven pixel art adventure game. It's a throwback to classic text adventures after graphics were added; this game tries to emulate the feeling of playing on a very old console. neutral · AI labelView post →🏥 Games from this dev really know how to attract those who like the genre, but this "tape" contains content for only ~1.5h max. (with full exploration of everything), during which almost nothing happens. Absolutely linear, with only one tiny branching closer to the end, and that's if you pay attention to a rather annoying puzzle. In fact, there is no horror, this is just a setup, which raises the question: Wouldn't it have been better to make a full-fledged game, instead of a teaser, albeit…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute adventure game (not really Point and Click so much as Look and Interact), doesn't take too long to play. Obviously only a part one, but worth it for the price! (assuming the rest of the installments are released, of course, don't want a repeat of other games that failed to finish the story)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is structured like a DEMO! It is basically a brief "AD" to get you to by the next part of the game. It is very short and there is absolutely nothing satisfying in completing it. The male protagonist (helper to) is a complete idiot and the female lead (the actual lead) thinks its fine to be referred to as "BABE" all the time. I got it on sale and still feel like I payed too much.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great style and journey of young Brea's journalist adventure through the cold case of Ash Pine mystery murder.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This short game raises a few more questions than it answers. It certainly upended my understanding of the timeframe that the Just Ignore Them storyline takes place in. It's also pretty short. However, the art quality is dramatically improved over that of the original and the script has way fewer typos. It has the makings of a pretty good story but if you decide to play it you should understand that it leaves off on a cliffhanger. There aren't many scares. It seems like there were meant to be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Anyway, Stranga Games has improved in their craft quite a bit since having made this game but I'll always think fondly on watching a no commentary longplay of Just Ignore Them back in 2017. It was scary to me at the time. I was pretty freaked out. Fond memory.
positive · AI labelView post →J is for "Just Ignore Them" Since he was a kid, Mark's demons have left a trail of death around him with the ones he loves. Now, he's trying to stop them once and for all. Truly not a bad game and worth a try, but the point and click feels weird sometimes, and I softlocked myself at least once.
neutral · AI labelView post →Will this be the October where I actually play a thematically apropos horror game on stream? I mean, maybe. I could. I do have one or two in mind and they're unorothodox picks. If I can only do one then I think I shall choose Just Ignore Them (2017) (PC). Gotta piss about with the settings a bit tho
neutral · AI labelView post →Interesting prequel in the JIT universe! Unfortunately, the story is not finished yet, I hope, there will be a "Tape 2" !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played the Don’t ignore them game. I have yet to play the other Stranga games. This one is short and probably a prequel of the other game? Anyway, controls are fine, saving manual is fine. Its easier to play actually. Got a bit confused in the password parts. Because I tried typing and nothing typed. Turns out you have to press up or down arrow to access the letters. (To those who need help in that part). So yah, good game, the story was interesting. So far, I liked this better than the other…

positive · AI labelView post →nice, hope we get the tape 2 someday
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed this game so much. I would play a whole story about this topic. I'm aware this is some sort of spin-off or alternate explanation to the original 'Just Ignore Them', but I didn't play it. I loved the ambience, the way Brea and her boyfriend try to hold on with their lifes, it feels like a cool slice of life. I also laugh so much with all the 'costume' thing. Short, good, funny and memorable. I'll be checking this developer's games!! ^^

neutral · AI labelView post →Pretty short and pretty weak This game serves as a prologue for a story which doesn't -and likely never will- exist, I think asking money for that is honestly kind of scummy, even if it's cheap, because there's just so little here, it's a detective esque mystery with only 1 route, 2 if you count the slight deviation towards the end, it's a detective game with very little detective-ing. The sprites are an improvement from the original "just ignore them", but the bar was pretty low; Brea isn't…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I actually really enjoyed this game. It has some fun story telling and good humour. I actually enjoyed this more then I did the original Just Ignore Them. Sadly I don't think this game is getting a follow up. Overall a good game though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I highly recomend this adventure +Fantastic Story (Great Writing and Dialogues) +Great sense of immersion thanks to rich environments and interactions as well as beautiful pixel art +The game combines the benefits of Top down exploration + Point & Click Adventure interactions +Good music +It took me about 2 hours to get through the episode 1 and I could not stop playing
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm outraged by the content of the story but not only do you understand what Stranga wants to do by mixing all the stories of the other games together to make one.... Wow! Pleasantly surprised!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An intriguing start to hopefully more parts of Brea's story. You do not need to play the main game to follow this one, though I recommend it because that is complete and this is just the beginning of a larger story.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worth your time and money: Short, easy, enjoyable, but need more. You need to feel this little adventure. Loved the references. Perfectly playable with the steamdeck, but I had problems typing after realizing that the arrows are used to move between the alphabet letters and the spaces shown to write.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Though I did not go through all the reviews, I see no mentions of Harvester and their games. This plays just like one, albeit more tongue in cheek. I like this little slice, and maybe you will too. 6/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would fully recommend this short adventure. There not a huge amount of content but that is reflected in the modest asking price. What you do get is an engaging point and click adventure with a spooky atmosphere and likable characters. Looking forward to tape 2.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty eh, but for the price its ok.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As it is now, I couldn't recommend it to a friend :( soz. Can't really hype up the main character (con connection formed) and the ending really didn't do it for me as a "cliffhanger". I'll keep an eye out for future tapes as I did enjoy Just Ignore them originally.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tape 2 waiting room. Brea's Story Tape 1 is a marked improvement, it has been cool to see how each game has upgraded in overall quality and demonstrates the practice Stranga has put it. Besides this, the game has a good hook and does well in providing an interesting opening that has me excited for more. I don't think I had any issues with the game, and I look forward to getting all the achievements.
