What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 238 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (6,358 of 7,997 positive).
Players praise the game's relaxing atmosphere and satisfying building and exploration loop. [1][2][3] Many reviewers note significant performance issues, including stuttering and poor optimization. [4][5][6] Some players feel the game lacks depth and content, and criticize the developer for abandoning promised features. [7][8][9]

Decided to give the product a try despite commentaries about it, all of them were true sadly. The game is raw, unfinished, extremely unoptimized piece of content, the world is limited and feels extremely empty, "towns" have 2-4 npcs maximum, swimming near any island will result in long of chunk downloading. there is around 5 unique monsters and their upgraded versions, and of cource 4 bosses. the buildings oftenly …

Another game, another dev (team?) that promised features that would be released at 1.0 and 1.0 comes and goes and nothing, now radio silence and no response at all to any messages on the discussion forums. While some may not call the game abandoned, I do because they said they would release features then pushed out that final 1.0 release with features promised, but not implemented and then they disappear! Ah yes, Lenis Land Or like I call it when I drink… Penis land. It’s like a less intense version of Valheim. This is my cozy game. A lot of people talk about Stardew Valley giving them that relaxing, escapist feel, well that's the essence of Len's Island for me. The combination of the visuals, audio, ease of building, visual effects with the farming, it all comes together to give a sense of really being at ease. …

It's essentially 99% vibes. The mechanics are shallow, the entire world is barren yet the game grinds down to an absolute crawl whenever you try to sail through the completely-empty oceans, entire islands will appear from nothing when they're 6 feet in front of you, the caves are literally rock platforms floating over a void and the vast majority of the world is absolutely useless to you. Building options are …

I would like to share my review now (in stead of when I finish the game), as I see the recent reviews has gone to 'Mixed'. This game has already caught my imagination: I roam, explore, view the sunrises and defend the night sky. I build, I fight. enlarge my land to my delight. It is a game that I was on the fence to buy, but I am so glad I did. It gives me a bit of Neverwinter Nights nostalgia, I love the fighting …

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm giving the game a positive rating, but I will start with the biggest con before going over the pros. My fiance and I have played ~45 hours. We've beat the game and have 100% achievements for it. Cons: - The biggest con of all is the stuttering that occurs. I didn't play the game in EA, but I'm told the stuttering is a more recent development. So the game is perfect fine and doesn't stutter when you're in an area and not loading chunks. But as soon as you're loading chunks the game stutters…

It is kinda nice and chilly, but there are things that makes the game and gameplay... meh At first, there are just a few settings. Not much tho. In game, the UI and navigate through everything with crafting is not really intuitiive and takes some time. On top of that, there are still bugs. Like for my friend, just part of map was generated. Or not all enemies visible. Additionally, quest in…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I cannot even play this game. My husband and I bought this to play together, but no matter what we do or how many times we try, our games will NOT sync. I actually watched a monster attack his character on my screen, but on his screen there was no such monster and he wasn't even taking damage. It was so bizarre. This is just one of MANY examples. We do not see the same resources, enemies, monsters, animals, etc, which makes it incredibly frustrating and impossible to play as a multiplayer game.…

Do not buy this game, it has been abandoned. The controler support is a lie, it uses Unity's default 3rd person controls. TO add them they just need to let the community mod it. The community is full of bots that chime in that there is controller support. No, this is a complete lie. The game has about 10% controller support. Then it breaks and you are stuck with mouse and keyboard…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The entire time I have tried playing this, both back years ago in early access and now trying again at 1.0, I find myself pondering how "it feels like a game, but I'm not having fun." I play more of these sort of "relaxing adventure OWSC" type games than most other game genres, and I've seen a lot of games that start with a decent enough idea -- like I can kind of see here -- but that also fail to do much with their ideas. Most fundamentally: it lacks depth. It feels like I've seen 90% of…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So quiet. So very quiet. Silent treatment from the studio on updates while in EA (with infrequent posts on "large updates" that never addressed common QOL and features community keeps bringing up i.e. controller support), and also post 1.0 release, particulary on features that were supposed to be in 1.0 but wasn't and for features they said they were working on post- 1.0. Been WAITING to play this in a finished and enjoyable state. Guess I won't be playing this at all.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The only reason I am not giving a negative review is because I had some fun playing the game for a little bit, but it is NOT finished. The game is lacking severely in features, and should still be classified as Early Access. Very empty locations, no monster diversity, low animal diversity, poor performance, bugs,.... Overall: 5/10 Fun: 7/10. Raids make the game very dynamic and give you a sense of urgency, which is nice. Performance: 2/10. Very poor loading mechanism and GameObjects…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Camera angle is unbearable. Headache. Cannot play with either zoom settings & no angle makes this better. Never thought I had to look for what camera angle a game was designed for. 30m in I'm done with the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For what it's worth, the game was entertaining. Buy it on sale if you want to try it. There are several bugs and QoL issues that distract from the game. There's a lot the devs could have done to make it a better game. Better character customization, adding shoes to the game, had some issues with interior views on the houses you build. There's a lot of good suggestions in the discussions on what needs to be fixed and improvements. It's been 2 months since any contact from the devs so who knows…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Multiplayer doesn't work. Had to refund because that was my main reason for playing it. Lots of discussion forums and reddit posts about getting message 'connection to server interrupted' but dev doesn't respond and no solutions in sight. Game is dead, sad :(
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In dungeons, you're constantly facing over a dozen enemies at once, which makes basic attacks completely useless. You just end up rolling, using a skill, rolling again, using another skill, then waiting for cooldowns or swapping weapons to use another skill. Just repeat that loop over and over. The main quests are incredibly repetitive and shockingly short. You find a town, then go light up steles on three other islands, then come back to beat the dungeon on the town island. That's basically…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Edit: the game is now unplayable. Anytime I click to put something in my bag or take it out it says "add to bag" and can no longer be used. You can't take out or put anything in the bag not scroll... This game is great and fun other than the multiple bugs when playing on steam deck. Having to reset the game every 5-10 minutes because of a "add to bag" error, along with errors where buttons randomly stop working and you have to sleep or exit the game to get it to work again. If I could refund…

The crafting System is unpolished, empty and you didnt even hit mid-Game and you already unlocked all. Some Items you drown in, some you have to grind like stupid. And no NPC cares about anything. They just stand there in the Dark, Enemies left and right. Killed the big Evil, saved the World? Literally nobody gave a fart. No Reaction, No hooray you did it! Nothing. I wanted to gives this a Positive Review, but that Lackluster, nothing…

Issues with rendering terrain: huge FPS drops on chunk load. 2. Empty world: map is big but there is almost nothing new after first 2–3 hours. 3. Small variety of enemies: game has less than 10 enemy types in total. 4. Broken economics: some resources are not needed at all. 5. Hard mode = boring grind: majority of dungeons are either copies of previous dungeons + enemies with…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game feels unfinished, the camera angle and movements give me headaches and may make you motion sick. There is a lack of progression and direction in the game, narrative is lacking and needs much more refinement to be worthy of recommendation. I would suggest avoiding it, plenty of better offerings available.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just kinda mediocre. The combat is really bad. The building is fairly bad (especially when its used as a mechanic for world exploration). The world feels pretty early access, with basically nothing in it. Only notable thing is the isometric twist on this bloated genre. Wouldn't really recommend, and would suggest rolling the dice on a different openworldsurvivalcraft slop title if that's what you're in the mood for (which you must be, otherwise you wouldn't be here).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Eh, its a cute game but it got old kind of quick. Played it solo, probably more fun with a group.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't play many survival type games these days as they all feel very much the same but I thought I would give Len's Island a go. I must say I had a lot of fun with it and didn't mind the grind part of the gameplay. I think my favourite aspect of the game was the exploration and the combat. I'm not much into base building generally but it wasn't too bad in this game with it being fairly simple to design and build a sustainable base of operations, although I would have liked to have seen more…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I found yet another chill survival game, Len's Island. It's fun! You get to build a little and explore dungeons. Just you and nature, I love that. You can also unlock pets.
positive · AI labelView post →Controller experience is abysmal. Devs haven't fixed it since release from early access.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game but lack luster for how great it couldve been. devs said "We’re not stopping at 1.0 - 2026 is shaping up to be another big year for Len’s Island. While we can’t share everything just yet, we’re actively working on the next major content update, alongside the release of full controller support. We’re continuing to pour a lot of love into the game so we can keep improving it and deliver the best experience possible." and took a vaycay with the profits and show no signs of coming back.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Relaxed Atmosphere Survival Craft game. This game reminds me of Raft a lot, I guess mostly because of the setting, and the fact that you do a lot of island hopping. And I like Raft, a lot. This is a great game to just relax a bit. It doesn't have much depth, but the exploration is fun enough and the dungeon crawling/combat is fun enough to keep playing. I also feel like the game caters well to multiplayer. Example, the skill system has 4 categories, so each player can specialize in their own…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I will say that Len's Island is a good small game. It's not mechanically deep and not too long but it is a fun wee little island explorer/building cozy game. The game does feel slightly abandoned as the dev has said they've been working on controller support since January. Don't know how long that takes to actually do but 7 months at this point feels a bit long. I wouldn't be expecting any new features/expansions any time soon.

neutral · AI labelView post →The multiplayer optimization is surprisingly solid compared to many other indie co-op games—stable, smooth, and enjoyable even during long sessions. That said, the game still needs more content and variety, particularly in weapons, armor, farming, building options, and points of interest. Since this is an open-world survival, exploration, and crafting game with no real “end,” long-term enjoyment depends heavily on the depth and breadth of available content. Expanding these systems would…

neutral · AI labelView post →Steam needs a 'meh' review. Not a $40 game more like $15 game It's too short, you can 100% and all achievemnts in less than 40 hours Most of your game time is grinding resources instead of fighting. And it's a loadscreen simulator. Pick it up on sale.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is for me a big dissapointment. I followed the game for a while as the gameworld and the art style really speak to me. After the 1.0 launch I downloaded it and started playing. As you can see from my hours played. This game took no time at all to make me uninterested in playing. 1. The gathering is super tedius. I had to chop down all the trees in the area to build the super small shak for the tuturial, This after already upping the drop rates to the max. And your inventory is so small I…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2 hours in and have requested a refund: Building is poor: Build menu is a clunky mess. Build items have an extreme and highly limiting snapping that means they cannot be built if there is a slight obstacle and the structures you can build are limited around a pre-set. Nothing like the freedom of Valheim or similar. Combat is truly awful: I worked out how to set my block to right click, as it must always be, but this means I can no longer split stacks as it tries to block and closes the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Len’s Island nails that “just one more thing” feeling. One minute you’re chilling, building up your base or tending crops, the next you’re deep in a dungeon fighting for your life and chasing better gear. The loop is fairly satisfying without feeling stressful. Co-op is a blast, progression is clean, combat is quite different to other games and takes a second to get used to. The world feels and plays a lot better than what the older reviews depict. It’s rare to find a game that lets you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this game! I recently started playing with my boyfriend and it's been pretty entertaining. The visials and soundtrack are very fitting and make the game feel pretty polished. There are a few small bugs here and there but nothing that has seriously affected the experience. I'm about 50 hours in and I still get that itch to keep playing! I would definitely recommend this game to anyone looking for a casual building and survival game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just finished the game. So much fun especially when playing with a friend. Just a little bit of performance problem when there's too many stuff in the base.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Requested a refund. We'd barely been playing for 20 minutes when the game got so buggy it was unplayable. We couldn't chop trees or mine rocks, and there were monsters that one player could see that the other player couldn't. It is so buggy we had to double-check to see if we accidentally bought an early access game, but, nope. Just a badly done full release. Edit based on developer response: I love how you glossed over the fact that I refunded your game due to bugs. It actually seems like…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A pretty casual survival / crafting / adventure game which doesn't innovate much, but manages to pull it off just about. Not going to win any game awards, but probably worth picking up if on sale for less than £10. Took me 30 hours to complete the final boss on solo, but if im honest I started to lose interest around the 20 hour mark. The final slog to upgrade gear to be good enough to get through it was a bit rough. The game also isnt very well optimised once you get a large farm going it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This could probably be a good game but the controls make it very frustrating to play, and it does not allow you to change key bindings as it should. For example camera rotation is only right click, hold and move, and is very slow. You cannot change this to keys, like Q and E. Almost impossible to play with a track pad. And though it is default for keyboard mouse set up, it plays like it is a controller ported poorly to keyboard mouse. I tried for like a half hour and it was just constant…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool concept but lacking substance. Also might be abandoned.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this 4 and a half years ago because of the promised controller support. Devs have gone completely radio silent and have not delivered on half of their promises.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a survival/crafting/open world fanatic, I blindly went into Len's Island (single player) and I really loved it. I even tried to go completionist after beating the end boss, something I have hardly ever done. I stopped playing being one armour piece short but not prepared to comb through all dungeons again to find it. All in all, I would rate it a 7.5/10 game - very good but not great. The scope and quality are impressive for such a small team. Couple of technical issues: - I experienced…

The multiplayer mode works great and works as expected. The enemies are challenging and make the game interesting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Exploration = Fun, its great to run and sail around and there are unique things to explore. Building = Fun and Simple, easy to learn, with some effort can be mastered. Farming = Simple, not much to mess up here really and benefits from exploration. Combat? Horrible. A game where the enemies have thousands of health and you have like 100. You deal 150 damage and the bosses will deal 20-30 and you can easily get swarmed to the point you die in literal seconds with little you can do. The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ALRIGHT, lets get this one out of the way, the forced no shoes thing is unnecessary and for myself and surprisingly a lot of people when I checked discussions agreed on this but that's not helpful so let me explain along with other things that fit this theme, when I saw that and saw no boots armor slot, no toggle or way to resolve this, I felt as though this games fun factor and immersion was going to be blunted for the rest of the playthrough - and it was, it felt distracting and was an…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Len’s Island is fun, challenging, and easy to sink time into. It looks great, moves at a decent pace, and gives you real freedom in how you approach combat and progression. You’re not locked into one “correct” playstyle, which makes experimenting feel worthwhile without punishing you for it. There are a few technical hiccups—occasional frame rate drops, and enemies sometimes clip into the ground—but nothing that killed the experience for me. Tip for new players: learn to dodge roll early. It…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't recommend this one. After the initial fun of building a base and making some progression the game just stalls out. Too grindy to make heal pots and the strong foods needed to heal, and that ultimately killed it for me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is an autentic gem, its simple, its fun, great to enjoy with friends without being overcomplicated or convoluted, easy to learn, easy to fight and build, game is big enough to keep you entertained for days, i hope the team keeps updating it cuz they did a great job!! <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the game is generally pretty good, lots of things that are excellent about it. I have a decent number of hours into the game and am pretty far into the game. But the further I get, the more it crashes. It is now crashing so much you can't finish the game, as you can't make it through the end dungeons before it crashes. If the developers ever get around to fixing the crashes, the game could be great, but until then, I can't in good faith recommend it.
