Players describe Lyca as a short, relaxing incremental game where you restore nature as a wolf. [1][2][3][4] Some reviewers find the game repetitive and lacking depth, with broken challenges and poor explanations. [5][6][7][8] Many recommend it for its low price and chill vibe, especially if bought on sale. [9][10][11][12]

I'll start by saying that for the price I paid, I guess I can't complain too much, but that doesn't change the fact that this was a total slog. I only pushed through to get the 100% achievements. The game is just boring from the jump. The beginning is incredibly slow, and I kept waiting for it to pick up, but even the endgame is a drag. It never actually gets interesting or finds a good rhythm. Even considering it …

This game is honestly relaxing. Its nothing impressive, its nothing over the top, its just simple and enjoyable. Can't recommend it more if you just want a game to turn your brain off to or to play off to the side. Its easy to understand, easy to play, and fun. Took me ~4 hours to complete. :)

This is a mehvote - neither recommend nor downvote. For its price it's fine. I like that compared to similar games, you fill the space rather than destroy things in it. But besides that, it's kind of unbalanced. The second challenge (filling the field with grass) never triggered for me, even after i completed the game, so it's kind of pointless even having it as a thing to unlock. Upgrades, as usual, are "just …

Short and sweet (I finished the entire game in 3.5 hours). It's a very chill and low-stress game, which is just my speed, so I definitely got $3 worth of enjoyment out of it. This is an incremental game and eventually an idler. It's a lot like Nodebuster: you play a minigame to grind for resources and then use those resources to unlock a skill tree. I like the aesthetic a lot more than Nodebuster, though: your wolf …

Decent shortcremental game. Fun enough for a short run, nice vibe, but nothing that’ll blow your mind.

The problem is that there are SO many resources, it has about 5 or 6 resources and you cant even tell which one is what or how you get which because they are just a small colored picture. That would be one thing, but the upgrades on the upgrade tree…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In the game you play a wolf that restores nature. You start with a barren landscape and your task is to transform it into a grassy landscape by your mere presence. This is kind of nice - who doesn't like nature? So far so good. However, there is not much game here. There is basically no gameplay. There is a sense of progression: you become a progressively stronger nature-inducing wolf. That's positive, but that's it. That's all the game offers. This is a very small game. The game doesn't…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow this is boring. So let's start with an important thing, despite the user tags. It's not an idle, it's not a clicker, it's not a strategy game. I dunno what you have to be to be called a simulation, but I wouldn't call it that either. So what is the game? Well, you play as a dog, pig or cat. I chose cat. You run over grass then you run over it again to make flowers appear... That's the game. You eventually unlock "idle mode" which makes you run like a dvd screensaver. You move…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a nice little stocking stuffer on the side if you can catch it on a sale. It scratches the casual itch but also wasn't what I was expecting. If you watch the preview video and saw the screen shots and thought it would be some sort of endless runner where you spread flowers and beauty wherever you run like something out of Okami, then lower your expectations. This game is a fixed map with an extremely limited area. Ultimately, everything about this game just leaves more to be desired.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite having a mildly decent time with this game, I can't actually recommend it. There's nothing that Lyca does that's terribly wrong, but the things it does correctly didn't interest me either. It's pleasant to look at, and it has all the trappings you need to have in an enjoyable little incremental game embedded in its skill tree, except the gameplay itself never feels terribly satisfying. I don't think I can adequately describe in words the apathy I feel towards my brief time with Lyca.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's alright, but it's very uninvtuitive and the game explains nothing. Got to prestige 25 and unlocked all the upgrades. Couldn't finish the challenges, since the current challenge for me is to die within 10 seconds.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The entire gameplay is seen in the first five minutes. Sometimes the floor changes color and gives a different colored number that goes up. But the gameplay stays the exact same. Hold in one direction. This could be a great game. It just isn't. This feels more like a minigame of an *actual* incremental game. Controller support is abysmal; don't buy if you plan on using controller. You are allowed ONE button to start (lol only if you don't go up a level) or end the run. No buttons to: Pause,…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's cute and all but also pretty uninteresting. Wish there was more to do/manage, but all you have to do is run around with your dog and watch the same stuff happen over and over. Not even the satisfaction coming from a decent upgrade tree can wash away the repetition, unfortunately.

neutral · AI labelView post →Lyca is one of those games that you get for free from buying a bundle with the game you wanted - and even for a low price of “free” this game fails to deliver anything or meet any expectations. And the main problem, in my opinion, is the fact that even after finishing it I can’t understand what this game was supposed to be. Rogue-lite game. It could be it - you have runs, you have meta progression. There is a problem, however - your runs have zero progression in them and are just there…

neutral · AI labelView post →I loves being a little puppy running in the grass
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →LYCA, is a confusing incremental gave where little to nothing is explained to you, but perhaps that is the point. You are a dog running through the fields and somehow generating currency. The game is clearly aiming to be relaxing with no need to think about your gameplay, just run through the grass and enjoy the amazing lofi tracks. There's not much variation in the gameplay and it doesn't get too satisfying. The upgrades feel impactful enough and is based around that same skill tree concept…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fine, but when developers say they have trouble "finding the fun" this is a perfect example. It's a game, it works, it's pretty polished... but I didn't really enjoy my time. I gave it a good try to see if the progression system picks up or anything but it's just the same thing throughout the whole round and every round is the same. There's not really a "gameplay loop" and it's so unengaging there's an auto-run button unlocked pretty early on. You press go, run around, timeout, spend…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This one isnt really the best dont get me wrong its not bad but i dont think it was really worth 5usd so if you must play get it on sale 5/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →as mentioned in others reviews- challenges quickly become impossible to complete , upgrades don't really add much to the game after the first hour or so and after the first 3 prestiges (early on) once you unlock auto run the game can play in the background it becomes rather uninteresting. very little input is required from the player,,,, cute canines thoooo....

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent enough, get it cheap and enjoy a simple relaxing game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Starts off decent with a fun progression loop, that loop hit a wall around level 5/6. After you grind that wall for a little and get one of the poorly tuned talents you will be able to finish the game with out a single issue. I don't know how it got out of development with the current tuning.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game was not relaxing nor fun enough. Another Nodebuster with a poor prestige system. Every prestige layer gives only 1 additional resource but requires massive additional attributes. Nothing is new after 15 minutes. Too idle to play, too active to idle.

neutral · AI labelView post →Solid short incremental game that takes <5 hours to 100%. The game starts off extremely slow and active, but it speeds up significantly as you buy upgrades. Eventually you get idle mode and the rest of the game doesn't take that much longer to finish off. The one downside to this game is that the challenges are broken... though you don't need to do any challenges to 100% the game. Overall, solid game to play for a couple hours.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Imagining a radio ad for werewolf supplements that make you tf less frequently by accident, and it's got two over the top cheesy VAs that keep tfing in the worst scenarios. "I'm usually on top of my game, but sometimes even I need a little help. Thanks, Lyca-Xan! No more boyfriend snacks for me!"
neutral · AI labelView post →short incremental, easy to be finished in a few hours. doesn't take a long time before the game starts playing itself and it becomes satisfying to fill up the entire grid.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice, short incremental/ idle game! It doesn't force you to re-buy upgrades by wiping your progress, with the 'prestiege' system instead increasing your health drain, for the trade-off of giving you more resources. It starts off very active and manual, and slowly through upgrades allows you to idle it more and more, eventually just allowing you to leave the game running to do its thing. Very much recommended!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →100%'ed the game in 3.7 hours. Solid game for 3 dollars would recommend was a fun time waster incremental type game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A quick and simple incremental/idle game, the first hour you'll spend actively playing, the rest is purely idle. Not bad for the price, even better if you get it on a sale. If you like this kind of game you'll enjoy this one too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of those games that really needs a more nuanced option than thumbs up or thumbs down. Ultimately this is a cute little incremental game without much depth to it. It will kill an evening. I think that's worth the price of admission, personally, but at the point where it feels like the game should be spinning up into something fun and strategic, it's over. Alternatively, it's a fairly dope but resource intensive screensaver.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't really get it... but it distracted me for an evening and I had fun while playing it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →beutiful simple game, if you can catch it on a discount its worth the purchese and playthrough
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A weird incremental/idle game that is a distiled version of Okami. You are a dog, walk around and create flowers/grass. Simple enough. For the less of a dollar I paid, I had an ok time with it. Could be lots better though. You would think that being an incremental game, it would start simple, then you would restore bigger patches of land and eventually the planet. Uh, nope. All you get is a small plot of land, two screens wide, one and a half screen high. Goes by fast, you can finish…

positive · AI labelView post →A simple tranquil game. I enjoyed playing it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A charming idea, but the grind wears thin. A nice little game for the price, but unfortunately it doesn't explain itself very well. It took me three or four runs to realise that running over the grass turns it blue, which is key to progression. Once you figure it out, the game settles into a slow grind of collecting skills and prestige points. There's something satisfying about gradually restoring the wasteland, but the progression can become rather tedious. I'll probably keep coming back…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lyca is just relaxing Not that much more can be said about this game. You run around as a wolf, planting grass and flowers. Skills that makes you plant better and faster feels overpowered. Like progression is faster than in any game from this genre I played. Plus once you reach idle mode.... the game change into nice screensaver with music perfect for reading a book. While we at it, music is ralaxing, and I mean it. It put me to sleep while hunting for last achivment. I liked it. Short and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm gonna be honest, at first I didn't like the game too much, it definitely starts out very slow, but as you begin to level up and unlock more resources and higher prestige (which doesn't restart the game btw) you begin to move much faster, gather more, unlock bird friends to help you, and soon you're absolutely DOMINATING the zone! The game itself is pretty short, especially to 100%, but at the end I actually really enjoyed it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The soundtrack alone is worth the money. I leave it up in idle mode while I'm working. The games worth the few bucks they're asking. Relaxing, simple. I wish there was a bit more depth eventually but - it is what it is for the price. Recommended for those that like simple idlers / incremental games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Serious bugs main one i ran into: When running in fullscreen mode. if ANYthing on my computers takes focus away it switches to a tiny little window and will no longer react to inputs. Effectively soft locking the game. there's also a challenge to fill the field with grass that is also bugged, its luck wether it will count or not. just a VERY shallow game with issues

Was a bit confused at the start as there was a no tutorial and the Start Run was at the bottom corner of the screen and the skill tree was off screen to start with, but after I figured the Run and Skill Tree out, it was very fun!
