The issue that stands is all of the specs available to buy in-game were mainly popular around 2019 (i.e. when the game came out) and so whilst it's refreshing to see the RX500 and GTX1000 series again, it's also difficult to stay engaged when none of the specs you can use are all that relevant anymore. The variety of tasks available is also pretty damn minimal on the base version of the game and I already feel like …

Don't have $300+ dollars for RAM for that new build you had planned to buy parts for on Black Friday? Here's the next best thing! While the hardware included in this game shows it's age, it's actually a pretty decent practice tool for beginner builders like myself utilizing the Free Build mode. Gets you into the practice of installing parts in the proper order, and not forgetting that thermal paste. Interesting …

PC Building Simulator is a relaxing and surprisingly educational sim that makes building PCs feel accessible and rewarding. The career mode is satisfying, especially if you enjoy troubleshooting and optimizing builds. It can get a bit repetitive over time, but for tech enthusiasts it’s a cozy, detail-rich experience.

Although this game is fine and all that, the fact Epic bought the rights to the sequel means that this franchise is in basically dead now. Unless you are an Epic fanboy, avoid at all costs. And I don't mean they got a launch exclusive, they own the rights forever, so it will never be on Steam. What a shame, was a good series.

For someone who likes to build computers in real life, this is an awesome simulator. Parts and cases are accurate, and a few things are simplified for the sake of gameplay (wouldn't it be awesome to install an OS in real life in less than a minute?). The "story" is also fun and entertaining.

There is a second updated version only on Epic games but I am not downloading another launcher just yet. PC Building Simulator is enjoyable at the beginning, and as the game progresses it becomes more relaxing. However, certain tasks grow increasingly tedious, such as comparing components, calculating the total cost of a build, or reviewing a customer’s specifications. These gameplay elements are not particularly user-friendly.

It's a nice game. I like how creative the emails can be, but still, the tasks get repetitive with the time. It's always the same thing, change one hardware, test some stuff and done. I wish it had more complexity. It could be also more optimized. For example, if we could check the GPU scores directly from the inventory? I've built 4 PC's in my life and this game romanticizes it to the point it actually is fun to build in the moment. Where as in real life your dropping screws in the case, wiring, opening manuals, having those manuals close while your doing something else, having anxiety attacks. It's nice simulating how good it must be to be competent.

PC Building Simulator is the only game where I spend 2 hours fixing someone’s computer, forget one cable, turn it on, and suddenly feel like I destroyed NASA. One minute I’m building a clean gaming PC, next minute I’m checking every part because the customer says “it doesn’t work” with zero explanation. Somehow cable management in this game is more stressful than real life. 10/10, would forget thermal paste again.

I'm so done with installing apps and rebooting all desktops, it's the most annoying and time consuming stuff in a game ever. I just can't be bothered anymore, also: Hitboxes (cable) User interface Inventory management Dedusting Shipping time options Most importantly: Perfecting the game is impossible without payed DLC's Also the sequal is on Epic store only, not that I care.

Be warned that this game has been abandoned by the developers for 3 years now, so is bitrotting in terms of the parts used to build a PC. Rather than releasing DLCs of parts to keep the game relevancy going and generating ongoing revenue, they decided to create a sequel game instead. This sort of game lives and dies on maintaining a wide and current set of parts and the devs decision has lead to the slow death of this first iteration of the game. I wouldn't put it past them to release a third…
