Players find it a decent but flawed sequel to Machinika Museum. [1][2][3]

Would I recommend this game, I want to but can't, apparently the devs went radio silent after the release and aren't trying to patch the game in a timely manner. As for the actual premise, it is fine, direct sequel to their previous game. You find yourself on an alien ship and must wander around trying to figure out how to make your way through the ship and inadvertently repairing it as you go. The puzzle how ever …

If you like casual puzzle games similar to "The Room", this is a short but sweet one of those. I would caution that there are still a few bugs here and there, but many of them have been squashed since release, and the remaining ones have simple workarounds on the discussion page.

Littlefield Studios really put a lot of work into this project! The graphics, the texturing, lighting, an incredible number of animations and camera moves...very impressive! So. Many. Puzzles! And they range from initially simple to quite challenging, later in the game. The storyline here builds upon the previous Machinika Museum, but this game is larger and more engaging than the first. Well worth your time, an …

Nowhere near as good as the first game, but still good enough to recommend. First of all, the puzzles are mostly just slide this and then slide here and so on. In the first game the puzzles were so much more creative. The first game was also way more creative with the story and you really felt like uncovering a space crime. In this one you just repair a ship and then take off with a really bad final dialogue. Time …

[NO SPOILERS] A decent, yet slightly underwhelming sequel. Pros: -Good sound and visual design -Not too difficult -Good puzzle design -Serviceable short experience Cons: -Some repetitive or unrewarding puzzles (how many times do I have to connect a line with rotating tiles!?!?) -Cringe dialogue -Lacks the grounded and satisfying feel of the original In-betweens: -Opts more for larger areas with multiple puzzles, …

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A lot more buggier than it's Museum Prequel, audio bugs, logic bugs, step bugs, controls keep switching from inverted to normal, camera controls are absolute dogwater, pattern puzzles work 70% of the time but ONLY on closing and reopening does it actually work should it fail despite everything. story is someone's fanfic of hating humanity because "Mankind bad" or whatever. Graphics are nice, sound (When it isn't looping through levels due to bugs) is nice, visual style is mixed from alien and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just not crazy about the help hints. When you need some gentle guidance, having the hint suggestion telling me "this is not working" IS NOT A HINT AT ALL!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked it enough to play it through to the end but I felt like it really cheaped out on the puzzles this time - nothing very challlenging, only one or two satisfying 'a-ha' moments, and it overuses the little drone mechanic. There were a couple of instances where it was really not clear what to interact with (not a problem with my deduction skills, a problem with the finicky controls), so I had to use hints to progress which is frustrating when the puzzles themselves are really not that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very buggy, baby puzzles, long and annoying animations, boring story, bad writing. At least it's kinda pretty.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first game was cool and enjoyable. This one was not. Do not buy this game, though to buy the first one.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Machinika Museum", the first game, was like "The Room" in that it concentrated on individual devices as its puzzles. "Machinika: Atlas" appears to have followed the format of "The Room Two" where it expanded from singular contraptions into entire rooms of puzzles, but in doing so, it could not match the quality of The Room series, and it lost what was so fun about the original game. The final two chapters in Atlas were basically a barrage of tedious puzzles coming at you one after another…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would much rather recommend Machinika Museum to anyone interested. If you've played and enjoyed Museum, stop there. Atlas is...well it "continues" the story (as flimsy as it is) but the puzzles are either incredibly simplistic or frustratingly obtuse. Some are quite bugged, some are exercises in random frustration. It's not a long game, and getting to the end is rather, well, lackluster to put it mildly. The experience is not worth the price (and I got it on sale).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately I can't really recommend this game. Feels like the developers ran out of ideas for puzzles for this one. The "puzzles" are all really simple and doesn't require any real thought. That also means that since the parts that are meant to be actual gameplay are over so quick, it feels like you spend more time in animated transitions than actually playing the game. Graphics and music is nice, but without a proper foundation of interesting puzzles there just isn't enough to justify a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the positives- art design is excelent, really makes you believe you are in alien enviroment, and it looks amazing the negatives- puzzles are unbalanced, either it's super easy, a literal drag and drop, or they have no context and you won't move without hint the interactions are clunky, you will either click out completly or just rotate in place not knowing where to go in-universe, the puzzles make no sense. why would you have to solve a puzzle to open a vent? why is frequency…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wish I could give this a "meh". tl;dr the magic of the first game is gone. This is just another rando "rooms" puzzle adventure game. It expands on the plot more, but you're not missing much, and the puzzles are more annoying than intriguing. ~~~ The premise of the original Machinika game was really good: a person working in a museum of alien curiosities slowly unraveling mysteries of components that, to their surprise, build upon each other to do something grander. And, the puzzles to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →With some of the puzzles, I get the feeling acid should have been provided in order to get what the idea is. Hints are extremely unhelpful most of the time. "It looks like this is not setup correctly" isn't actually a hint...

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →meh - after the first game the puzzles get repetitive. Get on deep sale (I did) if you need to know what happened plot wise.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Definitely one of the puzzle games of all time reminiscent of the room mechanically but lacking a lot of the charm honestly. since the machines are meant to be alien, it is 100% abstract mechanical puzzles, nothing grounding, no recognisable objects, no language puzzles/riddles. and a lot of the puzzles are very arbitrary. there's a lot of mechanisms that slide out of nowhere that seem to serve no real purpose except provide a puzzle to activate the next thing. Theres a lot of what I'd call…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worth it if you liked the plot of the first game, but definitely not a good deal for the puzzles alone. They messed up by adding free movement which added nothing meaningful, instead of sticking with fixed perspectives/point-n-click like the original. Quite a few of the puzzles rely on you struggling to figure out how to interact, so they're tediously easy or unreasonably difficult with no relation to your intelligence either way. There's even a speedrun achievement (3 hours) which makes you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too easy to be worth the full price. Buy on special. Nice visuals, a bit buggy, a bit disappointing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The sequel to machinika museum. Quite polished, similar to The Room series. I like how you really get the fish-out-of-water feeling. It's just a bit too easy. I do like puzzle games where you don't need to search for a walkthrough or sit hours on a problem, but here most puzzles were solved in a minute. Through the whole game he puzzles felt "tutorial level" hardness. There were just two places where I got stopped in my tracks a bit: Conference room where I didn't realize I could do more with…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is so disappointing. repetitive gimmicks. lackluster polish and boring simple puzzles that fail to build upon the first game. studio stretched itself too thin trying to pad ou a "complete game", pretty disappointing tbh. well just play the first game and assume that this one never existed because its a horrible disappointment. if you could tell them one thing is to next time polish more, making games is hard but you shouldnt launch a game that is not ready
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall a decent enough Room-like. Not nearly as frustrating as House of Da Vinci, but maybe verging on a little too simple at points. That said, some of the puzzles are annoying or obtuse, which I really didn't like - especially having to do two runs to get all achievements. The main issue here is polish. I encountered too many bugs for me to recommend this game. A lot of these were more irritating than game breaking, such as repeating sound effects. A handful soft-locked the puzzle or level…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I sadly cannot recommend this game, it stinks of lazy choices or amateurish by every pore. Even today, after multiple patches, the game is still a pain to get through, softlocks, glitches, non responsive UI, and so on. But even that wouldn't put the game in a non recommended state, stretched texture across longer wall to not make a second one, reused assets not only inside the game, but of the first game too (Shoutout to the anti gravity machine XXL), lack of polish, bad performances, and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I give it 5+++++ stars for graphics, but as a game it was a total write off. For me, the vast majority of the 'puzzles' were so simple it was a challenge to not solve them. The few that posed ant challenge at all were due more to obscurity than any intellectual challenge. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone that is looking for anything other than a pretty picture. Sorry, but for all the effort expended on the graphical efforts they were wasted by providing very little intellectual…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My personal rule is $1/hour of game play, and this game (on sale) met that for me. My first completion took just under 4 hours, but I played 2 more times through to get all the achievements. If you like puzzle games and clickers, this is one of the best. To the devs - Amazing game! I loved it. But if you are going to make achievements that require second play throughs, please make animations skipable. Your animations were amazing and glorious on the first run through, but after the third, I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Machinika Museum and its sequel Machinika: Atlas are this kind of game! Not quite the level of polish as The Room, but absolutely scratches the same itch. Love this niche.
positive · AI labelView post →There's a bug in the game and no way to contact the game maker for a fix.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Machinika" is a two-part series of what you could call mechanism puzzlers, and this is the second part (first one is "Machinika Museum"). You are faced with mechanisms designed by aliens and have to figure out how to repair them or make them work by finding the parts you can even interact with, pulling back a cover here, pressing a button there, rotating components, and so on. These puzzles are mostly pretty simple, so it's a chill gameplay experience. In part 2, they are even easier and/or…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has some decent puzzles in the mix with some recycled repetitive stuff. If you like puzzle games, it's worth getting on sale. If you played the first one and liked it then get this one. If you haven't played then don't be expecting something on the level of The Room.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can recommend this game. It's not long. But it's also not completely good. It's a nice puzzle game, although I kinda felt like it's holding my hand. Had troubles with one puzzle, but rest were quite easy. Story was quite good, but dialogs were just bad, especially at the end. Also I didn't much liked the message of this game. That essentially was that humanity is bad. There were some tiny hints of positivity about humanity, but the "Humanity is evil" was loudest.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed this game very much! The puzzles had just enough challenge to keep my brain working, but nothing too bad. I hope they bring out another one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Continues the story of the first game, but you don't really need it to enjoy this one. Short and sweet point and click puzzle game, very fun, not too hard, not too easy. I beat it the first time in just over 4 hours, took about 2 more to 100% it for a total of 6 hours. 10/10 would recommend.

neutral · AI labelView post →The first game was fun - this sequel is boooring. Instead of logic puzzles you simply click and drag things as required, a common problem with poorly designed games that put all their efforts into slick looking graphics.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A generally interesting setting and decent story can only do so much to hold up a serious lack of polish: awkward controls, visual bugs and puzzles that feel far weaker and less well thought out than Machinika: Museum's puzzles. The overuse of cutscenes just to show the mechanisms of the objects and machines you work with too, it made sense in a game like Museum where there is a mystery to each object you interact with and they were the sole focus of the game, but here that mystery is entirely…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It saddens me so much that i did not like this game after loving machinika: museum if you like that one sliding block puzzle where you need to slide blocks around to slide a specific block out youll love how every puzzle is just that or a drone sequence there was a single chapter where the environment came into play and it was the only chapter (chapter 7 i believe, whichever one took place in that cube) i genuinely had fun in and had to think on how to solve a puzzle it did not help that i…

Beat on stream with the help of chat for full context since some of the puzzles just did not compute to me what the goal was. interested in a third.
neutral · AI labelView post →Quick edit to advise people to play the first game before this one if they're new to the titles... It doesn't particularly matter from a gameplay or story perspective but I would advise that this is the stronger entry so playing the first (very good) game before it would be a better experience than after. Also, the first game is more a 'puzzle box' title while this one leans more towards 'escape room'. Another really enjoyable game and it follows on great from the first. There are a few…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved the first game, this new one? Not so much. I was doing fine til i reached chapter 2B, 2 major bugs that won't let me pass. I had to watch a walk through on this to make i wasn't screwing it up. I matched the radio waves but it didn't activate anything. I get to the the other side of the room and 2 major things were missing from the organ. I got the light bulbs but i couldn't put them anywhere, it was like a huge piece of the puzzle missing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to like M:Atlas. It was the M:Museum, that hooked me on lockbox puzzle games. Sadly, it does not deliver. The puzzles are either simple or annoying, with little to none 'AHA' moments. The story is flimsy, and the graphics suffer from trying to deliver a bigger game. You get to 'explore' an alien spaceship (explore in quotes cause you just go from room to room on rails), but then the puzzle boxes lack detail. 'the room' it is not, neither it's SOMA, though it tries to be both,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →massive downgrade compared to the first one
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sadly, i cannot recommend this game. I loved the first one but this sequel is in my opinion a move in the wrong direction from the dev team. Free movement is useless, we did not have this in the first game and it add nothing in this sequel. And the puzzles...by chapter 5 you will find yourself cursing at the game because it become full "swap" puzzle (if you are like me you will hate them). It felt lazy. While the first game had a great varity of puzzle, this one feel like a half baked product,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The premise is good, I like the story. The controls are frustrating. Some of the puzzles are so very obtuse that I gave up on them. There's one with bending some light that I couldn't get to work even after looking up the solution on multiple websites. I can only assume that the various 'solutions' I found all require a level of pixel-perfect placement that I can't achieve. The skip function for the puzzles is therefore essential if you don't want to spend hours fiddling with things. The hints…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →We managed to complete Machinika: Atlas, great game though their hint-system and controls does need some re-work.. (Something is not right) I don't see as a hint!! "Chicken Police: Into The Hive" was next, and what an amazing return to a franchise!! Sonny and Marty!!🤜🤛
positive · AI labelView post →An adequate enough sequel and an alright game. If you were excited by the idea of exploring the spaceship in the last game, this one will give you what was promised. It's not graphically much better than the first game, still looking like it's either a mobile port or decades old, but you know that just from the store page, and that's not where the meat of the game is anyway. The switch from intricate objects to more escape room like designs is an idea that fares similarly here as it does in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Couldn't escape a puzzle through the hints, had enough. Some of the puzzles are not very intuitive, you don't know what the goal is.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love 1st one, had been waiting for the 2nd release. Wish it was a bit longer. I didn't understand 2 of the puzzles and skipped, but completed the game under 3 hours. I do hope they make another.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a bit like the Room games, but easier. I had played the first Machinika game before playing this, and while it is not necessary, it does help you to understand what's going on. I think I like this more than the first one. I prefer being able to walk around, although it's not quite free roam as the game sometimes forces you to go to the next door even if you just want to go slower and take a look around. Another improvement to the first one are the hints. I managed to solve everything…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Why the NO?.....I'll get to that: The Game started out great. Graphics are just OK, but game play and puzzles were just fine. (seems a little buggy, but the developers are working on that). The sounds and atmosphere worked and felt perfect. Puzzles were fun and logical and things were going just fine until: Chapter 7 Chapter 7 started out great and then came this 'cube' puzzle with lines around it (even looking at the walkthrough, IT WAS VAGUE). After that it felt like it was a completely…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gorgeous graphics, moderately interesting puzzles...not a brain-killer. I love games like this!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kinda fun, but not excessively so. Dialogue is cringe, some puzzles are genuinely frustrating, others are fun. During transitions there hasn't been much care in hiding the seams around the doors, so you can see that the previous room has unloaded and there are a few pixels where you can see the exterior of the asteroid. Good buy for 4€
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun non channlging puzzles story is an bit low quality tho
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While not as good as the first, it is definitely a game worth playing. When I first began playing it, I felt like it was a game where you had to walk around and find clues, and that did not interest me, so I stopped playing. When I finally came back, I found it wasn't like that. You move through the ship, but it is game-guided movement, so I kept playing. The puzzles are fun. Towards the end, they feel more tedious than enjoyable, mostly because you are doing them to overcome a hurdle and…
