What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 186 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mixed (509 of 760 positive).
Many players find the game charming and relaxing, with a touching story and fun fishing mechanics. [1][2][3] Several reviewers report game-breaking bugs, especially during the tutorial, that prevent progress. [4][5][6] Some players recommend buying the game on sale due to technical issues and perceived lack of polish. [7][8][9]

I saw the mixed rating, I read the reviews. I didn't think it could be this bad. It really is. It's painful to play before you enter the game, even in the main menu, where you come to realize that the game will be functionally uncontrollable. The first thing you realize is that the mouse cannot be used to select menu options to enter the game. The second is that despite using the enter key to pull up the menu, it …

Can't get past tutorial. Keep getting stuck either in the bedroom - stairs down aren't recognized or get stuck at the bottom of the stairs and can't walk around items on the floor to answer the door bell. My 1 hour of play is just trying to answer the door! Using controller so it's not keyboard issues. Glad I bought it during a sale. Can't recommend.

I really hope this game can recover from the review dip, because it is genuinely a real gem now (if still a bit rough around the edges). You play as an elderly character dealing with the loss of their partner. Your adult daughter is in town to help you with moving on by assisting the town with their big centennial festival. You open a seafood streetfood shop to raise money, which also leads you to investigate the …

love this game ❤️ all you need to do is fish, cook, and restore a town. the NPCs are cute and have their own personalities, the story is both touching and charming, there’s no time pressure, and you have unlimited inventory — isn’t that the perfect formula for a cozy game? I didn’t encounter any bugs during my playthrough on the Steam Deck if you’re looking for something chill and cozy, you should definitely try …

What the heck!? I just finished the game and I’m speechless… the story, characters, and game design is so beautiful. I love that you play as a middle age widow(er) who, through the help of our sweet daughter, find purpose again after our beloved significant others passing. Yes, there are bugs that make it a little challenging to play, HOWEVER the story, dialogue, and many many fun side quests, fishing mechanics, …

neutral · AI labelView post →My favourite shot of Moonglow Bay. It may be a fishing game, but the town we built is something I'll love forever. Makes me want to make more walkable game cities.

However, I found the fix myself. I turned anti-aliasing off, changed to windowed mode, and turned V-sync off. This allowed me to start moving immediately. I've seen many people with this issue! Please try these before refunding!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sadly, as charming as this game is, it feels too unpolished for me to recommend in this price category. And the crusing part is that it had so much potential. If you enjoy the idea of exploring for new fish and then cooking them to gift and sell to villagers then go ahead, get this game. It'll probably tickle your fishing cravings. But it takes less than 30 hours to complete the story and once you get proficient at the fishing mechanics you stop experiecing them altogether because of your own…

The publisher seems to have difficulties with dealing with bug reports, so i suggest going to the developers themselves. you can go to their discord at the bottom of their website: https://bunnyhug.games/ They are very helpful and work on every report that comes across to them!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Steam deck player here. tl;dr it's a solid game I can recommend at a discount. It is difficult to recommend for retail price however. The game seems to have worked out a lot of the bugs or crashes that people discuss. I have not crashed once in 16 hours, and haven't encountered anything game breaking. I've been able to progress, beat story bosses and just unwind and relax with no issues. I know there were a lot of issues with chapter 2 boss, however I had no issues. It's very…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →seems like they put alot of effort but it doesnt work for me. i cant be bothered to try and get it to work ive spent 10 minutes trying to get out the front door. im stuck at the bottom of the stairs i tried everything but new save because i dont think i can skip the tutorial. restarted many times and went up and down the stairs but the character is unable to move away from the stairs to go out the door for some reason. i got it on sale and if i cant return it im gonna delete it from my library
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game on sale since most reviews say its not worth the original price tag, and unfortunately I have found that its true. I was excited by the concept because its such a cute game. The game itself is really hard to navigate (its not intuitive at all) and saving the game hardly ever works so I end up having to force stop the game and when I go back I have to restart. there are a lot of technical problems with the game that in my opinion make it an incomplete game. This game was released…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recently bought this game after I was excited to see that it was on sale, as I have previously played it on my Xbox on game pass. I am having an issue on PC where my character walks very slowly in buildings, often gets stuck, and gets stuck in a weird limbo whenever I try to go through a door. I am currently stuck on the upper level on the inside of my ship. I can only go up or down the ladder or move around below deck. I cannot get out of my boat. Whenever I use the unstuck option it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a cute relaxing game yes. But I'm a bit of a collectionist and the cooking in this game is one of the most tedious, repetitive and mind-numbing mini games I've ever played. On that basis, I wouldn't reccomend it but if you're not a completionist, you'll probably find a nice little game --{Steam Deck performance}-- Runs absolutely perfectly out the box - x Some minor adjustments then perfect A little choppy now and then Runs fine with lower settings Noticeably struggling Barely playable…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really liked the concept of this game. It sounded really great. However, I couldn't even play it for more than an hour before the controls being so janky just chased me away from it. I was really hoping that I'd be able to get back into it but I can't subject myself to this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite the rather negative reviews, I decided to give this game a chance. For some reason, I became oddly determined to get 100% of the achievements. I played and completed it entirely on the Steam Deck. The game has quite a few flaws, but also several surprisingly positive aspects. Starting with the tutorial, where you learn different fishing techniques, how to control line tension, and so on, I have to admit I ended up playing through the entire game without using any of that knowledge at…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There were lots of frustrations in the beginning because the game doesn't give any symbols or text describing what keyboard keys to use to enter the menu and start the game. After I finally got my settings figured out for my keys, I have been thoroughly LOVING this game. I haven't experienced too many bugs like a lot of folks comment, but I will say you HAVE to complete a boss battle that you ensue because it will bug your time clock and stop progress until you go back to fish that boss (It…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Anyone else getting Lego Island vibes from the graphics? Time to relive my childhood memories :D Honestly, I just had to come here to give a positive review because this is the first cozy fishing game I have actually enjoyed. You are tasked with helping to rebuild a dying coastal town. You wander, chit chat, fish, cook. This game has a bit of everything. And it takes place on the eastern coast of Canada. Bonus points!! And no glitches for me on the deck. I got this game for $3 and it feels…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The theme etc. of this game seem great, it was recommended to me, but I couldn't even get through the tutorial because I got stuck. Using the Help I'm Stuck function in the options menu didn't fix it, I could never get out of the house. And I was playing with a controller as recommended. So my review: seems very buggy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WARNING: I would recommend this game however DO NOT buy this game at full price. its cute and I love the story and mini games however it feels unfinished. There is a game breaking bug that gets you stuck on the pause menu and you have to restart the game. A fix is to just save every chance you get but its quite annoying. (That is only one of the few bugs I've run into so far.) Other than that I just wish there was more customisation. Like being able to change your clothes or even just having…

neutral · AI labelView post →great game held back by technical issues. I love this game and really wanted to play it. The art is super charming and the gameplay is fun, when it's not glitching completely. Pc controls are extremely unintuitive and require reaching across the keyboard frequently. if they ever released a fix for the control issues I would play it again in a heartbeat, but until then I've had to request a refund.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed what I played but can not recommend this game to due to bugs halting progression. Multiple saves and wasted hours later I can not progress through the game due to NPC's not recognizing the completion of quests. Save your time and play a game where you will not be halted mid play through by bugs.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this on sale because I was cautious to pay full price due to the mixed reviews but I have to say, I've just finished the main story and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've played for 15 hours and I haven't personally encountered any bugs (whether this is due to patching, I don't know). I do agree, however, that it's unplayable without a controller as keyboard controls are awful. But, despite that, I would saying it's a mixture of Stardew Valley and a (far more wholesome, much less creepy)…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Poor mouse/keyboard support that makes it hard to enjoy the game. Tried playing this twice since this is the kind of game I'm normally into, but quit both times. Hope the input gets overhauled because the game has great potential!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not very playable with keyboard and mouse unfortunately, ran into usability issues less than 10 mins in which means it probably had very little testing for the UI options at the very least. For those trying to play on mouse and keyboard here are the issues that might softlock you 5 mins in: - Fishing Journal: If you are stuck in the fishing journal when your daughter tells you to select the lure then try the return / backspace key as this is the universal exit menu button instead of something…

I played this back in 2022 and I thoroughly enjoyed it, to say the least. 📍 Moonglow bay is a casual RPG adventure game where you play as a rookie angler trying to fulfill their dead partner's wish. The majority of the game consists of traveling to different corners of the bay and catching various fishes, doing quests, renovating the entire town etc. The blocky graphics just gives the game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is very fun, relaxing, and overall a relaxing experience but I sadly cannot recommend this game as of now. I will continue to enjoy this game of course but please use my review as a warning; this game is EXTREMELY buggy. Normally I don't write lengthy reviews, but I see so much potential behind this game and I believe it can be something oh so much greater. I love fishing mechanics in games, so a game all about that? Hell yeah! I'm in college and I work Full-Time so coming back home?…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've really enjoyed the game so far. I bought the game on sale, personally I'd say the full price tag might not be worth it if you're not going to put some time in. There are a few bugs like when attempting to go outside or upstairs it doesn't always trigger and you'll get stuck. But I haven't had any major issues thus far. The art style is really fun, the dialog always feels fresh, and the NPC interactions are fun. My only major complaint is that the journal used to keep track of the fish…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is extremely buggy which is really unfortunate, I have gotten stuck repeatedly and had to alt f4 each time, and can't make it past the first quest. I really like the story line and the potential it has, but I hope it gets fixed. I would love to finish this game!! Until the bugs are worked so that at least the beginning is continueable, I wouldn't recommend purchasing it as it is pretty much unplayable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have Moonglow Bay on both console and pc. People can say what they want about the game, but the one thing I could say is... If you could move the camera around freely, then this game would be 100 times better.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really want to like this game. It's cozy and charming and FISHING. However, there are way too many BUGS. This game has been out for 4 years now and yet the most simple of bugs still persists. Bugs that don't completely ruin the game but it's frustrating af to play. I just can't recommend it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unplayable with keyboard and mouse.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I purchased the game on sale for 4.99 at that price point it seems worth the chance even with the negative reviews. So far it's cute but the keyboard and mouse controls are very clunky, and it's a bit off-putting the way the layout is designed so poorly that it feels like you're expected to play with a controller on PC. The keyboard controls are very difficult to use even with attempting to remap because everything seems to require multiple different button presses which prior to re-mapping is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this on Gamepass when it released and bounced off due to the screen tearing and lack of other options. I really wanted to like this game and always had it on my radar to go back to. Now I got it on deep discount and things have improved, but the overall sense I get from this game is "unpolished." So much so that I feel like the devs just stopped at some point and pushed it out. There are so many little issues that add up to a confusing experience. - objectives markers don't tell you…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At first I was very angry at this game because I couldn't actually start playing the game due to what seemed like a bug that prevented my character from moving properly when in their house. Eventually I searched and found a solution but it wasn't that easy to find so I'll post it below. HOW TO FIX BUG IF YOU CANNOT MOVE YOUR CHARACTER IN ONE OF THE OPENING SCENES: - Find your NVIDIA control panel app - Change your frame rate to a lower frequency (I did 120 Hz) After fixing that one bug, I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Moonglow Bay is a beautiful game with a really fun story, and I really genuinely enjoyed MOST of it. With that said, the controls are FOUL, the tutorial and help through out the game play is even worse. I have never in my life pulled up google more during any game I have played. The second boss makes me want to rip my hair out to the point I had to forever quit the game. I got a good 8 hours in but it's not worth the headache going back. Not to mention I spent an hour of that trying to figure…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a lot of fun but honestly unplayable with mouse and keyboard even with re-keying the controls. Using a controller is the only option to successfully play this game. I do not recommend purchasing this game at full price though due to how buggy and unfinished it seems for being a "fully released" game. I wish there was a neutral option for game recommendations because I do love the game but it really could be better. Hopefully they will revamp this game at some point.
