have you ever wanted to experience the joy of being repeatedly annihilated by relentless bosses and parrying like your life depended on it (because it does)? well, nanoapostle will cater to your oddly specific masochistic needs. the combat is so fluid and responsive that you'll be dodging and parrying in your sleep, and the bosses' themes and pixel art are simply top-notch. this is the kind of game where bosses will …

The game is very much quality over quantity Every boss is well made and unique, with different music and mechanics, as well as really good bonus levels... But there are only 6 bosses in the whole game... Still the game is really good, but that definitely is something to be aware of

Okay I REALLY liked this with the smooth gameplay, amazing pixel art and great story in general BUT with only 6 bosses, I can't justify the price tag just yet, maybe if I have more free time and spare change to burn. Great gameplay tho maybe I'll come back to owning it some other time but not now. I like Wenny, she is cute

i cannot recommend this game enough oh my god just beat it if you're even slightly on the fence get it immediately the story made me cry, the combat feels absolutely terrific and i think i'm going to try to 100% the game, it looks visually amazing, everything about it just feels *great* the upgrade system is light yet really nice, there's a lot of incentive to build differently against different bosses or even for …

Incredible game. The sprites and music are amazing and fit the boss fights really well. The gameplay was incredibly fun to learn and mastering the combat and the bosses only made it feel better. If you like intense and challenging bossfights coupled with amazing sprites and music, then you should definitely give this game a shot.

Is this game a masterpiece? Only for masochists. My doctor told me to stop playing games that upset me. I did not listen to him and probably reduced my life time expectancy by at least 5 years. Dodge, evade, run away, block... and still get hammered all the time while I can only tickle my foes. Conclusion: Too hard for me. Back to…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finally getting back to normal with posting schedules! This week is filled with Indies (NanoApostle & Cally's Caves 4), Rogue-likes (Revita & Dead Estate), and a cute weird game I loved in my late teens (Little King's Story). I really can't play "normal" games. I love my weird shenanigans.
neutral · AI labelView post →Short, sweet and to the point. Also extremely difficult, but not in an unfair way. Good stuff.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm gonna die a lot in this game I bet. But it shouldn't be too frustrating, right?.... right?? At least I have a cute game to wind down with afterwards. On The Docket: - Yapping - NanoApostle - Cally's Caves IV 🔴Live on Twitch Now!~ (and until 4-5 hours after I post this message)
neutral · AI labelView post →This game is really underrated! The gameplay is really fun and the sprites and music are both amazing. The only problem is that the game is a bit short but i think it's still a nice experience, not every game has to be played for hundreds of hours, in fact some of the best games are petty short.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is my first time writing a review on Steam, so bear with me. I've just beaten the main parts of the game, so I feel like I have enough to give my opinion. Simply put, I liked this game a lot and I had a great time playing it. My only real complaint is that I wish there was more of it. -The Story: I'm gonna keep this free of spoilers. The story bounces between wholesome, brutal, and heartwarming rather regularly, but it never gets cluttered or disorganized. It's rather simple and easy to…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beaten after just over 5 hours (according to the in-game clock). Nano Apostle is a fun and frantic boss rush game. The game offers a decent challenge. All upgrades are locked behind progress, so you'll always have to meet a boss on their own terms until you finally best them the first time. The story is well-told in cut-scenes after each boss. As such, you're always being fed with a bit more information behind what's going on. Overall, fun and challenging and I'd definitely recommend it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has literally become one of my favorite games. The pixel and anime artwork are amazing, as well as the combat. It feels really smooth! I also really enjoyed the storytelling with the plot twist at the end. The boss fights are phenomenal as well as the music! 10/10 would play and 100% it again P.S. This game also brought me into the Boss Rush Gaming genre. I really like it!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I absolutely loved it. :) If you don't care about challenges and achievements, I think you could burn through this in 2-4 hours, and might be a little disappointed, but I think learning to master the fights to beat them with minimal hits taken really helps you appreciate the mechanics and gives it longevity. But I absolutely adore Boss rush games, and I like that they don't waste your time with filler content. I'd rather have 6 really fun fights back to back then having them spread out…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very Solid Combat, Wish There Were More I rarely write reviews for boss-rush games because most of them feel like demos showcasing ideas. Well, NanoApostle IS one of them but the core gameplay is really satisfying. The boss fights are unique and intense. Plus, it is made by the same team who made Pronty. It's a short and memorable experience. Yet, I can't help but wonder what this game would be with full level design and full story expansion. Things I Like About NanoApostle: Tight Gameplay…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A really satisfying boss rush game. Cute story. Cool designs. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this game. Play this game if you like challenging fights with parrying, dodge rolls and a bit of buildcraft. Me personally, I want more. I'm looking forward what the developer does next.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful boss rush game, amazing gameplay, short and good story I recommend it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NANOAPOSTLE - A short one but holy fucking shit is it fun. Action-y boss game like Furi but with a charming pixel art style and a touching (even if simple) story? Damn. Definitely recommend to fans of smaller action games.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a blast! The game play is satisfying and has a lot to offer with various mechanics at your disposal like parries from both guards and charged attacks though in truth you don't NEED them. You could totally beat the game with just your dodges and your basic attacks if you really wanted to but the satisfaction comes from learning which moves to use when on each fight. Power up wise you can also limit yourself for more of a challenge or use various modules to give yourself more of an…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10/10 Game overall in my opinion. I played Rubinite before this game and this follows my expectation. I love the character attachment, the parry mechanic and also how the flash backs all add up at the end. If I get my ass beat by bosses, just hug Wenny. Will be putting it in my top boss rush games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NanoApostle is short, but sweet. I wish the game was longer, but at least every boss fight is unique and well made. Animations are great and attacks are very readable, with combat system that is easy to pick up, but hard to master. There is a large variety of builds you can make, each being stronger against different bosses. Multiple challenges related to each boss gives a decent amount of replayability. However, I do not think the current price of the game is justified, but on sale it's well…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love everything about it. Difficulty wise (for me) it nails that point of controller-tossing frustration and enough grace on the ultra-fast paced segments that even I can get it done at my advanced age with enough practice. The battles are non-stop fights, high-intensity, and VIOLENT. Mastering fights feels so satisfying. The aesthetic of this game is incredible. I've always been a fan of dark sci-fi themes and its pixel-art styling really does enhance what they were going for. Also Anita…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The bosses are generally very fun, except for Boss 4, which I dislike because of the chase gimmick. The ability to look up different builds is also a plus. The story isn't the most gripping, but it's still a solid 8.5/10 game overall.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →im not crying, you are
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is way too difficult for my skills. I love it! Every mistake is costly and punishing. Dodge and fight back or else you'll be stuck on the first boss for an hour.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →peak but too short :/
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like games with parry based mechanics and this give me like 4 different ways of parry
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels short if you're good at the game (I'm not), overall the story was pretty good though due to how "short" the game relatively is it wasn't as impactful as I would have liked but I still enjoyed it. This being my 2nd boss rush game after Rubinite I can say that it met my expectations, found the combat fun and satisfying with the (some difficult) bosses all feeling unique to go against. Overall, I liked the game albeit it feeling a bit short, 8/10 for me. The 100% is going to be painful for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Warning: If you are not familiar with Soulslike games, this game might be insanely difficult for you. It is not recommended for those who are bad-tempered and don't want to lose their mind. I am saying this because this game is reaction-based and requires practice and patience. If you are a fan of Soulslike games, you should try this one out. It is a short and sweet game, featuring six uniquely designed bosses. Each one needs to be prepared with a different strategy and build. Thus, there is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has just become one of my favorites of all time. The combat is quick, sharp, aggressive, and freeform. It feels amazing to clash over and over with a boss, tying in quick attacks, parries, dodges, and charge attacks when the time calls for it. You're never locked into a year-long recovery animation from an attack, and getting knocked down doesn't feel frustrating like it can in other games. You're just as fast as the enemies you fight, and the game makes incredible use of that to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a good short game. I would buy it on sale though
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nano Apostle was my first real experience with this kind of game and I gotta say it was a crazy experience. The bosses are all super fun to fight once you get the hang of everything. The story while simple is still very nice to have and makes for some very endearing and decently emotional moments. And of course it helps you a lot to connect to Anita, Kuro and Wenny. My only complaint would be that I now have to look for a new game in this direction.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My very first boss rush game and I find it really fun! It has a simple yet sad story and the mechanics in this game is pretty fun to learn. I would definitely recommend this game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short but well executed top boss rush style game. Definitely very challenging through, so not for the faint of heart or easily frustrated. It's quite challenging but also fun and rewarding to figure out the mechanics and overcome each boss' individual movements and attacks. Being short there isn't too much story, but the story that is in the game is pretty cohesive and wholesome. The only knocks I have on this game would probably be the length wish it were longer, and achievements…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short and very fun, I liked it a lot
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good game it was recommended to me and they hit the nail on the head simple controls, good pary system, good upgrade system and the bosses are different and hard but fair if you like roguelikes or darksouls you will like this to, highly recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So far it's quite fun, the gameplay might not be for everyone but it's pretty straight forward and easy to learn. I haven't finished it but from the reviews I see that there isn't that much content yet, I hope it'll get more since I think this game has a lot of potential.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Instead of fighting the bosses in order like a normal person, I went to no hit the first boss after beating the second one. Died a lot. Would recommend.

neutral · AI labelView post →Way too expensive Its a good game but god its so short, and makes the story so unimpactful This feels like a 5 dollar game, because how how little content there is, the visuals are amazing ill give them that. If the game is judged by quality alone, yeah its nice little experience, but for the price this is not it, only get it while they're on sale However, credit's where credit due, this game feels so punchy and responsive, the gameplay is so simple and i love it when compared to rubinite,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game, not super long. 6 bosses and then some optional races and timed trails of fighting small enemies. Game has a bunch of challenges for each boss which are to lengthen the game time, most of them are pretty easy outside beating bosses hitless. If you don't bother trying to hitless any bosses I could see the game taking about 2 hours on average, the game isn't super difficult and fairly generous with heals. Gameplay is heavily parry focused. My only issue with the game is sometimes…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ADHD combat. By the time I register what's happening on-screen I've already been hit. I guess that's a design choice, but its not fun to me. Sad part is the story looks like it may have been interesting, but I won't know because I don't have the reflexes of a squirrel on caffeine pills. So skip this game if its like that for you too.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short and Sweet but not really worth full price. . . finish game in under 2 hours (I spent 1 hour afk/setting up) Although I did get it on sale and the game is good for what it is.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the full price might be a little much, this game is an extremely fun and a wonderfully challenging experience. As someone who really likes when games have satisfying parry systems, I found myself having trouble putting the game down sometimes, and there's some variety to be had on the builds and playstyles you can adopt despite the small amount of buffs to choose from. The game runs very smoothly on my subpar computer, the art is great to look at and the soundtrack is surprisingly…

neutral · AI labelView post →TLDR; The game is very visual stunning boss gauntlet with great sfx that's very difficult. You'll be required to learn the bosses mechanics to deal significant damage to them. Nevertheless, it's very fun an rewarding. As of writing this review I'm currently on the 5th boss of the game. I completed every challenge for the bosses before moving onto the next one so I'd say I understand their mechanics. Normally your light or charge attacks will do very little damage to the bosses. However each…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Similar to Furi without the walking simulator downtime padding with less bullet hell and also adds some unique / borrowed systems (blight stacks, grappling hook posture break, skill counter, etc..) Has some degree of freedom of builds with the skill system but the core gameplay is still the usual "git gud" Story is short and engaging, showing snippets and short dialogues after each boss clear leading to an eventual finale. Kinda too short though, game consists of 6 bosses, 3 obstacle courses…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you enjoy the boss rush type of games with parry mechanics, please try this game. As someone who adores these types of games, I give it a firm 10/10. It's short, but has everything I look for, worth the price.
