What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 158 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (5,565 of 7,245 positive).
Players praise the game's nostalgic charm and unique open-world Konoha, despite its dated mechanics. [1][2][3] Many reviewers criticize the story mode for requiring excessive grinding through repetitive side missions. [4][5][6] Some players note the game runs smoothly and has fun combat, but recommend newer titles in the series. [7][8][9]

Story mode requires you to grind a LOT and it does not have much content. Not worth it, watch it on youtube. Rise of Ninja and The Broken Bond are much better.

Running around an open world Konoha seemed fun at first, but being forced to complete side missions to progress the story made me dread exploring. It felt like a chore. It doesn't help that the side missions were repetitive; I probably spent more time searching for Konohamaru and climbing trees than I did in main story combat. However, despite my complaints, I still really enjoyed this game. Nostalgia certainly …

First Storm game...pure nostalgia. It’s not as polished as the later ones, but the charm is unreal. The open-world Leaf Village exploration, the OG soundtrack, and those boss battles? Really feels Naruto Classic. You can really feel the love for Naruto in every detail. A bit clunky now, but for fans, it's where the magic started. Do it, relieve it and have fun with it.

While I do recommend the game, I only do so if you get the whole bundle. The game is good, but it doesn’t hold up to the modern standards set by the other titles. If you want to play through the entire Storm series, then it’s a must, as it covers the whole Naruto story before Shippuden. However, if you just want a Storm game, you should get Storm 4 or Connections, as this one isn’t nearly as good as the more modern …

The OG storm game and the only open-world game at that too. Naruto: Ultimate Ninja STORM has it's ups and downs. Overall, I liked this game even though it is missing some key developments from the early start of the series like the "Zabuza Arc". If you are a fan the series you'd like this game.

Critics, per Wikipedia
Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm received "generally positive" reception, according to review aggregator Metacritic. IGN gave the game an 8.4 out of 10, praising it for its "phenomenal visuals" and the variety of things that can be done between missions. It noted that the single-button combat might turn away hardcore gamers, but found the fast-paced action and chakra management system to be redeeming factors. GameSpot gave the game a score of 7.5 out of ten saying it wasn't a bad game but it wasn't a great one either. 1UP.com gave it a B− and praised the game's graphics, but commented that some parts of the game system have issues. As of July 2009, 83,868 units have been sold in Japan. It was…

The game industry & US copyright office just showed everyone they don't give a damn about game preservation, so take matters into your own hands.

Nothing I've done works, no trouble shooting help, no amount of restarts or on and off of this setting or device fixes anything. Worthless company that made a cheap port.

Only thing I found slightly annoying was having to replay all missions for 3 stars because they don't let you complete bonus objectives first try. I went from Ultimate Ninja 3 to Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 in order to catch up on the story of Naruto. Anyway, I play this game now as an adult and I have to be honest It kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks. The open world is clunky and kinda bland, the way it goes about telling the story of the first part of Naruto is by having a…

neutral · AI labelView post →This is the game that started it all. The beginning of the amazing combat system in the Ultimate Ninja Storm series. However, unlike the games that come after it, this game's story is very hands off. No flashy cutscenes or anything like that. Which was fine with me. My biggest gripe with the single player is the fact that each of the "story" missions are locked behind you getting enough experience points. How do you get more experience points? Well, you have to complete stupid side missions…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had high hopes for this game, but unfortunately, there are three major drawbacks that prevent me from enjoying it. Firstly, the hub world is incredibly dull and empty. Initially, it's exciting to explore the village, but the lack of any engaging elements quickly becomes apparent. After a single walk around, there is nothing left to see and the stuff that is to do is uninteresting. Next, the storytelling is lousy. Many characters and their connections aren't mentioned in the brief texts…
