Pitch detection is broken, unless I'm missing something. But I've fiddled with the range calibration and levels to no success. If you have a novel base mechanic like this, it has to work flawlessly otherwise people will feel frustrated when it detects things incorrectly. It never picks up my voice's pitch (male, baritone) correctly despite using a proper mic setup (AKG D5 dynamic mic, Scarlett 2i2 v3). And I can …

One Hand Clapping not only asks you to solve most of its puzzles by using your voice, it does it with such grace and variety that never, not once, the game feels tiring or repetitive. You don't have to be a musician (or perhaps a karaoke singer) to be able to progress, and even if your voice isn't on par with the soundtrack instruments, the biggest punishment your lack of success can bring you is being able to hear …

I like the game, it's generally a lot of fun. But it feels like you need the vocal range of a piano to play properly. I spent 20 minutes on a single puzzle because I can't sing low D easily enough and repeatably enough to do it in any timely manner.

It really sucks having to negatively review this game because it was pretty fun at the beginning. I like the art style and the concept. Having a game that is played by singing is really a unique concept for a game that isn't just karaoke or whatever. However once the tutorial ended and the training wheels came off, it started to get REALLY frustrating. Instead of simply singing to move platforms and solve puzzles, the game starts making you repeat musical keys back at it. Which is really…

The pitch detection doesn't work at all and it's also really laggy to actuate the changes on the pitch in comparison when the game "detects" it on screen. For example, if you change your pitch, the visible sensor on the screen doesn't change immediately, it takes like nearly half a second for it to respond to the change in your pitch and this makes some of the puzzles that require timing extremely difficult if not impossible to complete. Also, even if I change my pitch, the game still thinks…

I would do a 'neutral' on this one, instead of straight yes / no recommendation. I've been eyeing on this game, finally got to it. Game started off strong, I kept mumbling to myself 'this game is amazing' a few times over and over. The more I progressed, the more flaws I saw. This might be personal, but I found the Maestro Mountain chapters annoying. Towards the end the chapters got more exhausting and tedious. Not to mention the pitch trackers can get really wonky -- I have set up the voice…

Pitch detection is definitely broken or so picky that it's not for anyone who doesn't have a lot of vocal practice/experience/confidence already. I was hooked on the first level where the concept of the game (find confidence in the power of your voice) really shone but the difficulty ramp made me a lot less confident and I ended up quitting it in the third area after really wanting to like this game and use it as an outlet to sing.

Had potential but ruined with a faulty pitch detection system. No range adjustment system can ever remedy wrong detection. I outline everything, of which the dislikes far outweigh the likes. On Steady Notes: - Often steady notes, even double checked with a tuner to make they are indeed steady, go all over the place in the detection system. - Then there are the cases where singing the same note puts the line at a different height each time you restart. Sometimes it registers the same notes…

Although it’s easy to get busy, one of the reasons I had to leave the game was because of a flaw that gets in the way of getting through the game. This game is not playable when its core mechanic does not work. The game conceptually could be great. However there is a lag between when you make a noise and when the game actually detects it of around half a second which is really noticeable. Makes it really difficult for timing of platforming. The worst part however is that it cannot detect pitch at all, whilst requiring you to sing specific notes. I would sing a constant note and it would jump around like crazy, as if I had the range of…

If you are a singer or someone who understands and practices basic key of vocal, you'll find this game fun. Can't really recommend this game due to audio and pitch recognition issues. As a standard male baritone, I was literally sitting with a DAW equalizer, comparing every octave in my three-octave range. Not to mention the roughly one-second delay, which I can't overlook. Somehow my C2 became C1 for the game's EQ, and my range isn't that wide when it comes to low notes. I assume the game is trying to mess with the major scale, thinking it's a low female voice, but with a very strange approach.…

love the music and love harmonizing also despite what others are saying, you seriously don't need any music knowledge for this game. Just good hearing, because a lot of it is just "sing what note you hear." I'm good with music and all, but not good to the point where I know each note by sound, but that didn't make the game any less enjoyable y'all just suck at singing

Gorgeous experience, definitely enjoyed it. Can't say it's a game for everyone due to mic issues and some puzzles not being very straightforward, but it's easily a 10/10 conceptually.

I've been trying to play One Hand Clapping with my usual PS5 headset mic and the voice detection has been flying around crazy style, accusing me of shite singing. Plugged in my old Samson Meteor USB mic and the game says I sing "beautiful and perfect" and YEAH I KNOW I WAS DOING THAT THE WHOLE TIME
