If ever a game with potential was in dire need of an intricate UI rework, it's this one. WAY too many keywords and WAY too little explanation. Also, the pace is just a tad bonkers.

I have played for 117 hours This game broke my Minecraft addiction. I thought I was too old to learn new video games when I first played it but turns out I, too, can learn how to dodge all the nonsense coming at me! My first pacifist win was on recovery from food poisoning. I've never done genocide run or beaten the shopkeeper (though I've tried a bit on the first and a tiny bit on the second) but that's OK, I don't like being the bad guy in this game so much. This game looked super super cool, and getting into it I was worried that it wouldn't be for me. It throws a lot of stuff at you right off the bat, and a lot of the gameplay mechanics aren't super intuitive/aren't really explained. Once I gave it some time though, I really got hooked on the game. It's still pretty difficult for me, but I'm able to beat the game now and can start experimenting with other builds. Once you start getting the hang of things, it becomes really fun, you just need to…

This could have been a great game, but it is just too fast for anyone to play beyond the age of roughly 28. I am a pretty big enjoyer of the game series this game is inspired by. The difference is that those mentioned games are a rather relaxing experience and do offer lot more than just the combat system. Meanwhile this game is just too fast and punishing.

If you like roguelikes, deckbuilders and rhythm games and can handle the frustration of sharp difficulty curves, then this game's for you. That being said, it's very challenging mechanically and I wish the difficulty curve wasn't quite so punishing. It would be nice to have a lot more content to bridge the gap between mindless play and bullethell

The game is pretty ok but the speed is insane, mixed with a bad readability of what's happening, it makes the game really painful to play. Need a better learning curve a better hud/animations. Also, the characters are too specialized in their own area, which makes the deckbuilding completely nonexistent. Frost guy : build only frost, etc.

I'm hyped lol The worst deal i got is One Step from Eden, a mix of rythm game and deck builder. It looks like the most modern retro console it can handle is the GBA. Personally, that leaves you a bit limited as I personally feel anything older struggles to have a modern feel (not that there aren't good games, but I think it becomes a lot more about personal preference/taste on what counts as modern). For the GBA any first party Nintendo games will hold up pretty well. I think Advance Wars, Metroid, Zelda games would even be hits if released today. The Megaman series is actually a…

About a year ago, I was invited to play a card game called "Magic the Gathering". I informed the people who brought me over that I'd never played a tabletop card game before. They reassured me they'd show me the ropes and it'd be fairly easy to grasp for newcomers. After they handed me something called a "Commander Deck", they then proceeded to inform me of a new mechanic of the game on every turn I took and hastily requested I just play a card. I protested, saying I needed to read what the…

A great game but far too hard for me. I thought this would be more at the level of Megaman Battle Network difficulty and progression wise; but instead it is a roguelite where you will be at the mercy of good runs and bad runs; and a complete mess of things to dodge requiring more focus and skill than anything from MMBN. Its a slick presentation but I'm simply filtered!

I got this game because it has a very clear, and dear, inspiration, Megaman BattleNetwork. At least combat/ deck building wise. While I did successfully finish a few runs (like 6 or 7), I felt that the rouguelite implementation was not for me. The speed of battle is just too fast from the get go (a lot of spells hit exactly 4 panels in front of you, so lining up the spell while dodging is a nightmare), and on tougher battles I cannot tell what is going on my screen. For me it's any roguelike (or roguelite) I try. I may find the premise of the gameplay interesting, but having to replay the run from the start (while very likely not learning anything new, because I can't repeat the situation that gave me trouble before) ruins it pretty quickly. Even the ones I kinda like (Rabbit And Steel and One Step From Eden) can't keep my attention for long and I end up playing them very rarely. I played Mega Man Battle Network as a child, never finished it tho. This game basically roguelite of that. The game moves in real time so your reflexes better be good, you gotta be pretty skilled to play through it, also be smart, don't just pick every single card like a dumass. The story is pretty servicable with good cast of likable characters, you just want to get into Eden.

I played this game a long time ago while it was in the demo and even back then I would play it all the time. Now that it's out, I can confirm that I absolutely adore this game! Every run you make you encounter something interesting and new, and you always have chances for variety and building something different. Never gets boring 10/10 game.
