What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 103 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mixed (203 of 293 positive).
Players compare it to Warpips, with some saying it improves the concept and others calling it a worse clone. [1][2][3][4] Many reviewers note the short campaign length, with several completing it in under five hours. [1][5][6][7] Some players praise the tactical control and unit management, while others find the AI unbalanced or the gameplay repetitive. [1][8][9][10]

Not as many features as Warpips No real campaign, just series of scenarios UI doesn't make clear whether attacking or defending Annoying Soundtrack Warpips did this better unfortunately.

Alright, let’s just say it: this game feels like a cheap knockoff of Warpips. And since that comparison is unavoidable, I’ll be making it a lot. Unit Selection: Too many units and abilities feel like copy-paste versions of Warpips, right down to the air-dropped special forces. In the original, those units were punchy and fun; here they feel weak and uninspired. The devs should have tried harder to stand apart …

The biggest negative ill throw out there is that it took me 4 hours to beat all 10 main campaign missions on hard. I have not started on the endless mode though. Basically this game took the concept of Warpips and made it better mechanically, but with out the roguelike mode. You can have full control of your troops! you can tell them where to take cover, advance, target, and even retreat back to base to regroup. I …

To be honest like the best so far implementation of Warpips ideas. I like the flow of the game and little RTS control is like a charm. Decent map and units pool, AI sometimes can be challenging to prepare your ass for that :D

Without multiplayer I feel it's worth $10 at most. Beat the game in under 4 hours on hard including some of the endless level rewards.

I think it's especially funny in 'Operation Krabby Patty' because, like everything else in the game, it's something the show would never do

neutral · AI labelView post →I thought, at worst, "a clunkier clone of warpips might still be fun, right?" Nah, this game is pretty much just trash, and I don't say that lightly. Even if you've played warpips until you're sick of it, you'll STILL have more fun replaying warpips than this thing. And if you haven't played warpips and think this game might be interesting, good news! There's a game called warpips that this game is a very poor attempt at copying, and it's better in literally every single way. I beat the first…

neutral · AI labelView post →Yes, I called the new ALIEN RPG cinematic 'Operation Leading Edge' as a homage to publishers of the original ALIENS RPG, Leading Edge Games. It suits the nature of the adventure and works as a fond throwback; even though the game system wasn't great it was my only source of ALIENS info at the time.
neutral · AI labelView post →Warpips but without all of the features that make it good and engaging, like mid-combat upgrades, actual drawbacks to just bringing everything you have, and strategy beyond just "wait until troop ready and click troop, watch pewpew". With the added benefit of new and annoying mechanics like needing to micromanage troop movements lest you miss out on random drops or have your troops just explode. The unit design is also very uninspired, with it not being obvious how enemy units are different…

neutral · AI labelView post →Basically a Warpips clone that does the same thing but worse: Pros: -Looks better than Warpips in my opinion, others may disagree -Slightly more unit variety than Warpips, units like medics and artillery are fun concepts -I like the ability to individually control unit positions -Great skins for units and vehicles that give a more realistic look vs Warpips Cons: -Feels extremely derivative of Warpips, most units are carbon-copied from that game. -Poor unit balancing for the few…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can beat the game in two hours. Sure, you can replay the levels for an higher difficulty and to unlock skins and more money but that's not really compelling. Instead of paid dlc, it should have been free updates. Like others said, get Wapips, it's way better game, it doesn't look like another unity assets slop and has more content.
