positive · AI labelView post →Really well done autobattler/unit merger type of game. Placement of units matters, and no matter what I've been handed, it's very easy to get some synergies going. It has unit unlocks and some light meta progression, but nothing crazy that'll top what picking the right units and items does for you. Tons of difficulty modes to unlock too. One of the best designed, and well thought out ones of these I've seen honestly. Absolute steal for the price.

Makes it a lot harder to land upgrades or get items you want as the pool of random choices grows. Add a way to shrink the pool of random choices and I'll give this a thumbs up.

I have currently 100%'ed the game, so you can see how much gameplay it has to offer (double it for the time I spent with the demo, so almost 7 hours in total), and I can see myself just going back to the challenge bit to try out new things, because it gives you the enemy roster as well. Not sure whether there is a balance issue in the game, as I have managed to get the maximum 'overkill' on all different acts of the game, essentially using the same combo. Maybe there are other equally powerfull combos, but I felt that the molten egg buffing was the one easiest way to grind overkill points.

It reminds me of something between an auto-battler and Into the Breach: a small play space quickly reveals surprising depths of strategy. It’s evocative, engrossing, and a perfect game for a rainy day or on a Steam Deck. Easily worth the price of admission.

I would have preferred a more challenging experience, like a hard mode, where I can barely scrape out a win, rather than it being balanced around how much you can break the game and the amount of overkill is what counts as your overall progress. If I could request something from the devs it's this kind of game mode, which would make me come back…

The game utilizes spatial synergies similar to the ones in Backpack Hero, but combines it with autobattling. Edit after a few more hours: The effects of your actions are much less predictable than in Into the Breach and similar games, but you still feel you have some control over what happens.

I've gone back a few times and it's only gotten better since then. If you like autobattlers (or you're new to them like I was) it's definitely worth a look!
