What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 175 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (2,928 of 3,160 positive).
Some find the game too short or grindy, with progression issues and bugs. [1][2][3] A few criticize the lack of content and depth, calling it mindless or unfinished. [4][5][6]

At $15 I didn't even get an hour of playtime per $2 I spent. The entire game was playable in 2 sessions that didn't even take me 7 hours total. There isn't enough content in it for self expression to drag the time out. You can build a base but can't decorate it, have like 2 materials to select between. Outpath has a TON of potential, but if you want a little clicking adventure there are so many better games out …

Edit: Research Bench bug is FIXED! Thank you devs for the prompt response! I genuinely love this game and purchased it when it first went into early access, and recently I felt like diving back in because its absolutely a cozy/chill/relaxing survival game. This is definitely one of the more "zen" types, but the blend of automation with the procedural spawning of resources makes it unique amongst the rest. Also wall …

A very addictive game where there is always something to do. You start with simple resource gathering and before you know it you are building entire production chains and automating everything you can. I liked that there is no pressure or rush. You can explore islands build your base go fishing and unlock new possibilities at your own pace. If you enjoy games like Forager or Satisfactory it will be very hard to stop …

It's good, but it's a little shorter than I expected. What you're getting is very similar to Forager, but in a first person perspective and with a few of its own fun little mechanics. You gather materials and unlock new islands to obtain new materials, repeat until credits. The big difference is that there isn't any combat or puzzles like Forager had, it's just running around and collecting resources. If there's one …

In short, it's a 3D Forager (the 2D game), but not as complete. The music is a blatant copy of Minecraft. There's TOO MUCH GRIDING; I believe the resources needed to craft items should be halved, at least, and I won't even start talking about the point system. Automatic miners in the mines should solve some of the grinding. Speaking of automatic miners, mining posts should consume less energy, as they deplete much …

It was a couple who worked on it, then the girlfriend left him and he said he would try to come back twice. Did once, gave us the tiiiiiniest QOL update. Then said he was gonna try to come back again, (so three times total) asked what should be added, and removed the christmas deco (RIP) annnnd dipped and never came back again. Its been 2 years I think so far, going…

neutral · AI labelView post →I see many people describe this game as "relaxing". I'd say it's more accurate to call it braindead: Just point at things, click repeatedly, and mindlessly click on Upgrade and Crafting buttons to make things slightly less tedious and give you the illusion of progress. To me, a real "relaxing" game is one where you can exercise creativity, or enjoy the scenery or some kind of narrative. Here, there's nothing... just clicking and clicking and clicking, and numbers going on. Only braindead…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is scary man. The first day I started it after dinner at 7, the next time I checked the clock it was 12 and I was just like "What, where am I, how did the time pass so quickly??". The next day when I played it, I just can't seem to put it down and kept being like "Just a bit more, just gonna play a bit more." and well....I basically pulled an all-nighter playing it. lol Barely made myself stop when sunlight shined through the curtain at 5 and I just scrambled to bed for 3 hours before…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A bit of a conflicting game, a clicker with survival type mechanics that get in the way of it being a clicker, and when you turn them off the 3D first person design of it gets in the way of it being a clicker because you have to take more steps and space to do the things you need to do, I was just trying to get through it so I could see what else it had to offer before I outwardly proclaimed my opinion of it but then, after Steam crashed on me, I found it had no autosave, losing hours of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cozy: - Slime Rancher is super cute. - Forager is pretty nice, but the controls suck on anything other than keyboard/mouse. - Outpath is kinda like a 3d Forager with a dev who doesn't have staff he can't pay. Rythm: - Geometry Dash is great. - ADOFAI is awesome.
positive · AI labelView post →i found the game to be a really enjoyable and relaxing experience and i was surprised by how much time i ended up dedicating to it while collecting all the achievements was a bit of a slog the effort ultimately paid off

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →meh, this game is just whatever, its just a huge incremental game with extremely slow pace and uninteresting mechanic I dont see anything interesting in it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →played for a while when i first got the game. recently hopped back on for the first time in a little bit and all the research benches are non working. i can see the mapping of the items i can unlcok, but i cant interact at all. tried restarting game, destroying and rebuilding the benches. neither worked :/
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They just implemented controller support and its so clunky and messed up. Menus dont close right. You can open more windows at once. It has a mouse sensitive for looking left and right for the controller but looking up and down is super slow and now setting for that. If you use the mouse it flies but not on the controller. The buttons are not set up like you would think with a controller player. It seems like whoever programmed it didnt know a thing about using a controller. I feel like this…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is kind of like Forager, but the progression is often very unclear and even when you know what to do it still feels painfully slow. So much of the game relies on the money, but as far as I can tell there's no way to sell resources directly. If the gameplay loop seems fun or interesting, I'd probably recommend going with Forager

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed this game. It's a shame that the developer stopped working on it as I feel like this could bloom into something really big. This would be sick in multiplayer. Although there hasn't been updates, it still has enough content for anyone to enjoy it for a fair bit. Super satisfying game. Base building feels like a feature that was added without a reason. The environment doesn't interact with anything you do so building doesn't feel efficient since you can have a portal that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No controller support, so I'm refunding it. I'll bought it because the developer said it would be added 2 years ago. After buying it it turns out it wasn't.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →- Battlefield 4 / 1 / V - just campaigns. What I remember from playthroughs were nice graphics and cool sound effects. - Sniper Elite V2 Remastered - I have done it in few coop sessions with my brother. The ability to finish the full singleplayer campaign in coop is a great feature in games and this is what I look for nowadays. - Hellblade: Senua Sacrifice - quite repetitive mechanic, but for story lovers is very fun to sink in - Start Wars Battlefront II - similar opinion like for Battlefield…
neutral · AI labelView post →throwback to the time I played through the entirety of Outpath (nearly 30 hours) with my own patched-together Steam Input gamepad binds only for the game to get updated with official(ly fixed) controller support the literal week after I rolled credits it's what we in the biz call "unlucky timing"
positive · AI labelView post →Very fun game with tons of upgrades and crafting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →outpath is an interesting game. it's essentially forager with a first person perspective and Titanfall like movement, but plays like an idle game. unlike forager however there is no combat or dungeons to be found in this game, at most you get a cave that has no enemies or secrets to be found in it. some items in the game are strait up useless such as the magic tools and potions. through my entire 100% play-through i never used the magic tools, and only used the potions twice. first as a test,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Also, I got a copy of OUTPATH today from the devs, so we will be playing that tonight! It's an incremental/clicker game inspired by stuff such as Satisfactory, Forager and Minecraft, while being super chill - and has a free demo! Keep an eye out for a going live post :) #vtuber #envtuber
positive · AI labelView post →Gra is gingerly bringing out one of her personal favorites to stream it for the first time, a hybrid first-person builder and incremental game called Outpath. This will be a quieter and more chill stream, so come by if that sounds nice. twitch.tv/grastreams
neutral · AI labelView post →This game has exactly *one* gameplay loop and that is clicking on stuff, and the clicking on stuff gets really menial after the first 3 hours
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool idea but not worth $15 as is patch notes say full controller support yet it is still broken. You cannot eat food out of your menu using the x button nor can you open the build menu, in fact X button for some reason doesnt trigger anything although it reacts with a press no execution happens. mouse and keyboard might work but to me i paid 15 to play on deck and thats not possible so its a deal breaker. and whats annoying is the demo worked fine 2ish years ago and i bought it then…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I‘m gonna play **Outpath** when I have time solo and **Peak** with my gf. And I‘ll probably randomly boot up half a dozen other games if Outpath loses me.
neutral · AI labelView post →I‘m gonna continue **Salt & Sanctuary** this weekend, which is basically 2D Dark Souls, like, heavily inspired by Dark Souls. Other than that, I‘ve picked **Outpath** back up which is **Minecraft** graphics combined with **Forager** gameplay, I suppose? It‘s hard for me to describe. Maybe I‘ll start **Peak** with my gf if she wants to. She‘s kinda scared cause she read it‘s hard, I have no clue, I‘m going in blind lol

neutral · AI labelView post →3d Forager with some interesting movement mechanics that make it a little more fun. I would give it a 6.5 out of 10. There really is no story beat, or reveal that makes the time spent feel worth it to be honest. About half the automation mechanics can be completely ignored as the game will automatically gather and add to inventory every time you jump to a different island. I never once built a vacuum, or collector. Just the clicker. Jump to a different island every now and again to gather every…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Neat little game but far from perfect. Farming bugs out super easy and just quits working, fishing feels too slow at least at the lower levels, and the game as a whole is super grindy, at a certain point the easiest way to farm something is to figure out the automated system and come back a few hours later to let the game do the grind for you. Might be worth if on sale. PS: There's a soul cauldron thing that says something about sacrificing animals, I couldn't figure out how to get it work,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Maybe its just me but the game takes a long time to make any real progress, and there doesn't seem to be any real combat of any sort which is fine but makes it feel like a more boring version of Skyblock.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wasn't sold on the visuals at first, but I am so glad I gave it a chance. Beneath the surface lies an incredibly deep and satisfying game. The resource gathering, crafting, and automation loops are highly addictive, and the mechanics constantly reward you with meaningful progression. It is a deceptively complex experience that is absolutely worth playing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finished the game in ~15hrs. Had fun with it for a fraction of that. Rest of my gameplay time is testing to see how long the it takes to get the last achievement. The price tag is too much for what the game is in my opinion. You can get games with much deeper gameplay/mechanics for the same price. This is essentially just a 3d forager, but fairly shallow in comparison. It's janky and half the time things don't trigger properly, automation setup isn't intuitive. Number go up feeling flatlines…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Need food to do anything. Food spawns randomly. There's no baseline percentage of food that must spawn because that would require some forethought from the developer. I ended up with no food, no energy, and no food was spawning. Besides, that progression is way too slow. This is my second attempt trying to get into it. Does not respect your time at all. The current island you're on is the only one that actively does anything. Minecraft and Vintage story can have an entire world running…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very addicting and fun game. Has some unique mechanic's. You get cute graphics, inspiring music, little bit of grind and a progression path done very well. +1 to replayability.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i have been playing the game since the demo and have fallen in love with the entire journey playing it I will HIGHLY recommend this game to all that want to try it out.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My partner gifted me this game after I said no game was exactly what I wanted. Stardew is overplayed, minecraft doesn't have enough objective, etc etc. I wanted something relaxing but not too relaxing, grindy but not too grindy, goals to work towards, and co-op. So this game is pretty perfect :D Very excited to see what will be added in the future!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't normally enjoy these types of games, so I didn't expect to play it for very long, but I was surprised to find myself coming back to it over and over again. It's a relaxing zone-out experience that starts out slow but speeds up over time with plenty of things to collect, convert and generate with an emphasis on automating those systems to maximum efficiency. You don't have as much control over the environment as something like Minecraft, but that's fine with me honestly- I liked figuring…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Would like to make an early review on this game. Reviewing with 4.8hours recorded at this point in time, recently unlocked Old Dust The game itself gives very big forager vibes which i absolutely loved so having another forager-type game is very intriguing. Although, its not perfect due to having many mechanics that, in my opinion, are dissapointing or weirdly designed. Before any further statements, like to say that i wish each segment of an island should be connected. Thats how islands…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Outpath is cool though, check it out if you like the resource-hoarding loop of Minecraft automation / factory games scare me like cucumbers scare cats, but I can assure you that complicated diagramming / networks are unnecessary Currently on sale for 75% off store.steampowered.com/app/2237970/...
positive · AI labelView post →It was ok, the gameplay was fun for the first few islands when you were getting a lot of unlocks and setup automation but the last couple of islands it started to feel a bit of a drag. Took me 32 hours to get 100% of the achievements with the last achievement being quite grindy, I found a strategy online to speed it up but otherwise it would pad the time massively. Worth it if you buy it on a sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →[url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AI_slop]Warning: AI Slop Some marketing materials for this product were produced with soulless AI generated content. The developer violated the Valve requirement to warn gamers about any use of AI slop in a direct attempt to use AI slop for profit. Outpath is a "sandbox" (read: content free, directionless) survival/crafting/automation game (extremely lightweight)... but it's better to describe this as a Minecraft ripoff with substantially worse graphics and…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As someone with a not-so-good pc, I absolutely adore this game. It runs amazingly and I love the pixelated aesthetic. It's easy to understand and so simple, yet I feel like I can play this for hours! 10/10 would recommend!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short review cause I'm busy. The gameplay loop is decent, introducing movement and parkour into the game spices up what would otherwise be a very monotonous experience. Now that I've "finished" the game, I'm thinking about what the gameplay loop actually is, and it's pretty mediocre. You break resources, to get stuff that breaks resources faster. You never actually get to do anything other than break resources. Other incremental games have a loop that feeds into something, like Resource…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →really tried to pull some joy or fulfillment from this game but it was just boring
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Voxel version of forager, I mean it's almost %100 the same game other than graphics. If you like forager but you played it a lot of times like most of the forager fans, give this one a try. It's different enough that it's enjoyable actually.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Progression isn't always the smoothest and I wish there was more incentive to use really any of the logistics throughout the playthrough. BUT, besides that I enjoyed the game thoroughly over the week or so of playing :) Thank you, David!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would pick this over Minecraft any day, it's more relaxing and satisfying, it feels like it has actual graphics and animations and it feels more retro than simple and made for kids. The only downside is that is an exclusive solo experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun game for people who like to unlock things and see numbers going up. Beautiful sprites and colorful bright style. Great soundtrack, it increments to the chill vibe of the game. It has a surprising amount of content and it's worth quite a few hours. It has a few hiccups though, especially with some bugs relating to achievements but nothing that cannot be solved.
