What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 63 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (133 of 154 positive).
Players praise the game as a worthy sequel with more complexity and a larger, more challenging setting. [1][2][3] Many reviewers report significant performance issues, including stuttering and lag spikes, even on high-end hardware. [4][5][6] Some players find the anomalies too subtle or numerous, making the game feel unfair. [7][8]

I have just requested a refund. The game uses the same graphics settings as its predecessor did and looks the same, yet, it has extreme lag spikes. Since you move your camera regularly looking for anomalies, given the lag your camera movement reacts later and this results in a very sudden, abrupt camera jerk. It completely eliminates the immersion. The game requires optimisation / patches and this should have been …

I got the first game when it was free and oh boy I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ loved it. As soon as I found out that their was a second, I had to buy it. And once again, I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ loved it, as much if not more than the original. It's crazy how underrated this game is. If you make a 3rd, 4th, 5th or more. Ill ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ buy it, every single one, at full price. That is how much this franchise is worth to me. Please keep on rolling devs, and …

Paragnosia:Museum follows in the footsteps of the original Paragnosia with nearly identical gameplay, but features a larger setting that makes the experience longer and more challenging. The atmospheric and audio-visual design remains expertly crafted and deeply chilling. Set in an archaeological museum, the location offers high variety in its anomalies, complemented by a rewarding nightmare mode and a hidden …

This is a weird one. I liked the concept and the anomalies were cool when I could actually find them, but this game suffers from having far too many objects which may have anomalies and too large of an area to have them be truly impactful. I think that this is a point of pain when playing this game. If you're going to have a game where fine text and decals change, it doesn't feel great when there's so many to look …

Great fun. More of the same over the first one with added complexity. A few performance issues which will hopefully be patched out. Hope there's more to come. Sensibly priced.

Did I mention there is no monkeys ? And darts ? But you kinda are the bloon, on the rail to your destiny, also you take photos and it's an anomaly horror game, fascinating isn't it ?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sick anomaly-seeker. S-tier. Great anomalies, cool rail shtick, nice presentation, primo.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Are you enjoying #SteamNextFest ?😊 As PARAGNOSIA is a short game, we have chosen not to present a demo. But I can tell you that we're currently in the process of putting the finishing touches ✨ So, stay tuned for the #IndieHorrorShowcase next week! #indiegame #ゲーム制作
neutral · AI labelView post →Fun game! Might jump scare you a bit -- you're playing a horror game, what do you expect? -- but it's a fun kind of thing that is more enjoyable than annoying. Great game, needs some lighting help (the rooms are way too dark no matter how much I increase the screen brightness, both on my computer & the game itself) but it's enjoyable and can be a LOT of fun. I'd love to see a two-player version!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No matter the device, constant lag spikes before an anomaly spawns. Hardly playable with those lags, everytime something happens you will always be looking the wrong direction because the mouse becomes unreliable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Later today i'll be playing the 2nd Paragnosia for stream! Been looking forward to this since I played the demo and the 1st game way back. It spawned a joke that still goes to this day 😄
positive · AI labelView post →Loved the first game and really was looking forward to this. The new installment is really laggy and seems unoptimized. I've got a RTX3080 and I constantly get stuttering. This is not ready to be played imo. The "performance update" on Oct 2nd didnt fix that. There's too many assets being loaded at all times, cmaera smoothing feels really bad and on top of that the game constantly stutters. This is no AAA type game with AAA type graphics. There's no reason for it to still be so laggy.

neutral · AI labelView post →sadly this game has significant performance issues right now. on a decent gaming laptop I'm barely getting 60fps but there are extremely frequent dips as low as 20fps, and it's very obvious when things are loading in. I hope the developer can try to improve this in the near future. aside from that: the design of the museum is really cool, visually this game is a lot more interesting than the first. the difficulty is a big step up from the first game - so far I'm consistently missing several…

neutral · AI labelView post →Loved the first one, but the amount of tiny anomalies in this one feels unfair. I want to look for supernatural anomalies, not for a teddy that has been moved slightly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Poor performance and lag under high and medium settings (I didn't bother trying low settings) made this unplayable, so I returned it for a refund.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i really liked first part, was very excited to beat the second for 100%, but the worst part is that the game freezes even with low quality. hope optimization will get better in the future, but it's REALLY difficult and annoying. when it get fixed, maybe i'll come back to this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is great and fun, they've outdone themselves! Some good jumpscares and an actual 'sort of' story to resolve (but story continues from the demo which is currently not playable). The only 'warning' for this game is that if you care about achievements, only the 'fail' achievement works, the other achievements are all broken and can't be obtained

positive · AI labelView post →Great part two of the series. Much harder, bigger area and more anomalies.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a great sequel to Paragnosia. I played and 100% the first game and was thoroughly impressed with the fresh take on the anomaly/hidden object games. The Cam-on-rail system is great and much more interesting compared to the walking simulator you see in other games similar to this one. I really enjoyed this game, and I especially enjoyed the anomalies that required you to move around the map in order to exercise them. Comparing this game to the first, they've significantly upgraded the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My partner and I really liked the concept of the first game, so we were excited to try the demo for Paragnosia 2. The demo was very interesting, especially the challenge aspect. It was also a nice surprise to see both our names in the credits. We enjoyed experiencing the full game, including the hidden ending. Thank you so much for the experience! Our only issues with the game are the following: • Some anomalies were significantly more difficult to find compared to the first game. • The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am enjoying the second paragnosia. It has some stuttering issues, which kind of gives away a gotchya. There is alot of detailed things to keep track of, and the main storyline is kind of meh. Off to nightmare mode I go. I enjoyed the first game, so I grabbed this on launch. It is worth the $5, good job dude.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the hardest anomaly games I have played, hands down! Not a bad game, just difficult with the sheer AMOUNT of different anomalies to keep an eye out for, and a lot of them being very discreet. One complaint I do have is there is a clear optimization issue: I'm not sure how the game is built, but the map has very clear "loading zones". The reason I know this is that when you cross the "loading zone" the game hitches slightly (not a big deal), but it also throws your mouse/cursor/aim…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i love these games. having played through both paragnosia games, plus the demo (and totem mode), i am in love with the style these developers use to make these games. it's creepy, it's psychological, it instills genuine paranoia, but it's still fun and incredibly unique. you will not find this kind of game anywhere else. thank you sinecoda for being who you are!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Given how much I enjoyed the first game, I immediately purchased Paranosia: Museum and I'm glad to say it's another very enjoyable iteration. The setting is fantastic with a great, unsettling atmosphere, and I think a larger number of the anomalies this time round are more memorable with way more causing jump scares, which has been fun. There was some stuttering when I first started but that seems to have ironed itself out over time. It is significantly harder than the first one, if that's an…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall, Paragnosia Museum is a really well made anomaly searching game that has the potential to be fun and enjoyable to play. It follows the original games mechanics, you are a cam on rail and must exorcise demonic entities. I really liked how each hour the time of day actually changes and is noticeable in the lighting. There are over 100 anomalies to find, so there is a lot of fun and replay value. Once you finish the main story, Nightmare mode unlocks which offers more game play, but it is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It looks great and plays decent. Performance takes a random hit here and there, causing the screen to freeze randomly for a fraction of a second. Some of the rooms are really neat, especially the trail of ghost hunters. The manor is a close second. Some of the anomalies are quite scary. I'd recommend Paragnosia: Museum to those looking for a challenging anomaly horror game. However, I found it too difficult, and that lead to frustration. It's just too big with too much to keep track of.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Paragnosia (2024) 6/10 My first 'observation' game. Way too easy. Most of the anomalies you're set to find are incredibly obvious, humanoid shaped shadows and apparitions. There are some really good scares though, with how they appear and some even create panic inducing minigames. Gimmick is neat.
