What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 175 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (1,079 of 1,311 positive).
Players find the game fun and addictive, especially for short sessions. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note that the game becomes monotonous and repetitive after a few hours. [4][5][6] Several players appreciate the improved story and humor over the original Reigns. [7][8][9]

I really love the art style, and there seems to be a really interesting story line in there...somewhere...its just really difficult to find it. The game is a deck of cards of events, so it basically repeats itself randomly over and over until you unlock more cards and an occasional hint at how to progress one of the story lines. Okay, sure, that's fine...HOWEVER, since this is the type of game you play for less than …

It seems similar to the previous game 'Reigns,' but the addition of new elements has made it even more captivating.

Personally, I believe this is the best entry in the series, the story is more complex and the consequences of your decisions are taken more seriously than in previous games and the overall humour of the game makes it enjoyable. However, if you try and go for all the endings you might get REALLY bored since most of the endings are not so different from each other and, in order to get an ending after already getting …

This is a fun little kingdom simulator, for about an hour-and-a-half. After that, it quickly overstays its welcome and becomes very monotonous. The gameplay is very simple. You play as a queen, and you are presented with a picture of a character and some dialogue. You can respond by swiping left or right, and then you move on to another picture and another decision. Your decisions influence the game, and you have to …

played this a lot more on my phone but i was such a good casual "roguelike" if you can call it that.

Reigns: Her Majesty sits at 71% positive across 171 opinionated reactions from 4 sources. Fresh or rotten — where do you land?
Critics, per Wikipedia
The game has been described as "smart and surprising" sequel with "fun and minimalist" mechanics, and an "improved and captivating story", but critics have said that it suffers from repetition. It has been compared to services such as Tinder because the player makes decisions by swiping left or right. The Verge felt the game allowed experimentation throughout different lives, and liked how progress carried over through playthroughs, "Majesty does a remarkable job at making each life feel unique, and giving you enough information to feel at least somewhat in control of your destiny". Kotaku praised the game's approach to approaching sexism, saying "Her Majesty isn't one of those stories…

positive · AI labelView post →Some behind the scenes Lil' Guardsman lore: Initially we had the player balance the favour of the three advisors, inspired by Reigns. Ultimately it proved cumbersome with the other systems, but this element definitely shapes the dynamic between Lil and the advisor trio through the game!
neutral · AI labelView post →Thought I'd also give an update on my "Reigns but TF" game as well. Currently, I'm in the process of redoing all the current pixel art into a simple vector style instead. I felt the pixel style had some readability issues, and I was getting a bit frustrated with the medium in general.

A confession: I don't really like card games (leave alone mobile ones) so I'm not really sure why I bought Reigns: Her Majesty in the first place. I guess, I really wanted to be a Queen that much? negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked the game at the start; it was quite fun, but as I played more, I realised this is just one big grindy memory game. The game does have unique mechanics, and has good potential, but it requires a very large number quality of life improvements to make it playable. Gameplay ======== A decision roguelite where you're presented with a card, and you can pick two options. The decision could lead to further decisions, or you'll draw the next card. This will influence the rest of your reign (the…

Like the original Reigns, the game is controlled with the mouse and you make decisions by dragging the card to the right or left. Well, just like in the original Reigns, the player's task here is to keep the queen on the throne as long as possible. The length of the reign alone determines how far you progress in the story. During one round, you make deals and…

Volume is insanely loud, completely drowning out the movie I had up in the background. Menu options are nowhere to be found (even when progressing further through initalization). I finally manage to get the menu open (still by hitting ESC, it seems to be random, as later attempts also alternated randomly between results; However, on some game load-ups, this issue doesn't…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I respect these games are trying to do something unique. For the price it's certainly not a bad deal, and this one I'd say is an improvement in some aspects over the first. But the deaths are extremely repetitive, and it isn't always clear from the text why or how the affects happen. It's also just frustrating to me that one of the most dangerous situations you can be in is having won everyone's approval without stepping on everyone else's toes...the thing that from an in character…

neutral · AI labelView post →I really like Reigns: Her Majesty. In my opinion, the game really thrives on trying things again and again, experimenting with different choices and discovering new possibilities. That's a big part of what makes it fun. That's why it's a bit strange to me that some objectives can apparently become impossible to complete if you miss a certain event or make the “wrong” choice. Since you can't even start a completely new game to try again, it can be frustrating. I don't mind that some…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wonderful simple game with a suitable price tag to match. If you are into a laid back game where you rule as Queen then this is for you. It's very easy to get into and a game I find myself coming back to. I still have the same enjoyment for while playing that I did when I first bought it.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This isn't a bad game by any means, but I wouldn't recommend it to a friend. Despite its cute art and often-hilarious dialogue, this game is pretty unforgiving. You can die in just a few cards, and you have to basically memorize the situations to know which ones could suddenly send your medium stat over the edge. (I know you can sometimes use items to delay, but that only gets you so far). It's difficult to figure out how to end the game, and you can go a long while before getting the cards…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This sequel has its heart and head in the right place (the story, court member intrigue and message are way more interesting, actually), but the game mechanics are broken compared to the previous game. Reigns & Reigns: Her Majesty are "card" games in which each card asks you to make a decision. Each decision affects one (or more) of the four domains of power: the Clergy, the People, the Army, the Treasury. If the meter on one of these four domains maxes out OR bottoms out, you die and begin…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As its predecessor, Reigns: Her Majesty is a unique combination of storytelling through a card game. You choose an option in card which will determine several parameters which you need to keep in balance. Too little or too much will cause your character to die and start repeating the process. You have several "global" objectives to fulfill through some unique card choices that wont reoccur. Among the improvements that Ive seen I can name a reduced timeline it takes to get to endgame (1000…
