Beautiful, deep puzzle game with unlocks and meta-progression. But if you are looking for a colony sim or city builder (like me), then this is not for you, the tags are misleading. The advertisement is misleading. "Fill the universe with life"? "Endless planets"? More like: Fill a planet with points. Put it on the shelf. Repeat.

This is not a city builder or colony sim, rather a rogue-like resource management puzzle. And it's amazing. As much as I love the style and vibes, it's probably giving people the wrong impression of what sort of game this is. You have limited turns each era to place down "Biotica" on limited slots. Placing down Biotica gives you resources, which helps you reach your goal, while also acting as currency to purchase …

Biggest thing about Reus1 was having to know from memory how combos worked, because you didn't have time to read for a high score. You wanted to act fact and reckless. Your only resource was time. Reus2 removed that and now you have all the time in the world to think, but your actions are limited. Its a huge improvement given the complexity of the game. It also now has a challange system. So instead of just aiming …

I've been doing some more indie game PR! The ecology-building god game Reus 2 is getting a huge update tomorrow and its first DLC. Streamers, YouTubers, writers or anyone showcasing indie games, I've got Steam keys! Fill in the form and share it around. I only promote games I personally enjoy.

Reus 2 is a good'un. Came out last year and flew under a lot of radars, but it's Overwhelmingly Positive rated on Steam. It's very different from most god games. Almost like a turn-based worker placement board game, building up ecologies to human needs. store.steampowered.com/app/1875060/...

I wasn't 100% sure what I was getting when purchasing this, so to be clear - this is very much a "Puzzle Game" with a civilization & ecosystem theme. It works really well. Tons of different strategies, and depending on your approach early in a playthru it will have impact on the narrative & goals later on. Amassing more & more species of plants & animals, and varieties or minerals, is fun from a collecting standpoint but each one also opens multiple gameplay & scoring combinations. The…

I must be missing something given the reviews because I do not enjoy this game. It looks like a god game - it even says "shape worlds with your godly titans" but what that actually means is you click "create biome" on the relevant titan to get some of that type of land. Same with placement of the animals/resources for the given biome. The titans are otherwise meaningless. It is really just a tile placement game where you min-max the placement of things to get multipliers in the score, to…

Reus 2 is the sequel nobody asked for but everybody needed. It takes the charming god simulator formula—giants shaping civilizations, people rebelling, you smiting them—and gives it a fresh coat of paint. Better graphics, smoother mechanics, same divine heartbreak. Positives: + Gorgeous new visuals make your giants feel truly majestic. + The core loop of nurturing civilizations is still oddly satisfying. + Replayability remains endless—every Era is a new chance to raise (or ruin) humanity. +…

I regret buying this game, even though I got it on sale. This plays like a board game and is most definitely NOT a god game. It was fun at first, and seemed like progressing would open up more options and different ways to play, but alas, what you see in the first 2 hours is the whole game. You just plop cards into slots to maximize specific elements. All you get with progression is potentially more cards to draw from at random, but that doesn't impact the strategy or play style. Utterly…

In a update on the company page the devs stated how they do and don't use GenAI. And while It's certainly not as much as other companies its still more than I am comfortable with and cannot in good conscience recommend this game anymore. This may change in the future if the devs change their mind and stop using GenAI for their games. Edit: Since disabling comment hides the comment I put, here is the link to the devs statement on their AI usage so you can all decide for yourselves if its past…

Though I loved Reus 1, I rarely played a full era, in Reus 2 it feels more doable and rewarding to complete an era and also much more engaging with the option to pick your goals. Pretty puzzle game, once you play about 4 planets you've played the game and it gets pretty repetitive. I'm left scratching my head. The game somehow has been tagged with "colony sim" and "city builder" but I found little of that. I found no benefit to any of the diplomacy and battles seemed to have no effect. I played the demo and bought the game because I thought it would go deeper, but it didn't. If you want a zen game that puts pretty things on your screen and you don't mind spending dozens…

Loved the first one and this is the kind of sequel I enjoy. Takes mechanics, design and themes from the original and puts a new spin on it. Makes me play the original again, but in a good way. More hectic time based experience in the first one and a slower more puzzle-like with this one. If you either liked Reus or other games by the same developer you will most likely enjoy this one too.

One of the most relaxing games I've played. Especially since they made timed actions an option in the game, you can literally just sit and ponder what you think is the best solution at that time. Or turn on the timed options where tribes attack each other and your giant if you want more action. Either way a great game.

I want to praise this game for a good balance. Whenever you are going for the win in a final era, you feel like you will go bananas now and start seeing huge numbers. Instead, you realize all these little thing you did actually mattered and you end up only 10 points above what you needed to achieve to win. Game is tight. Absolute cinema.

Neat puzzle game but not really a colony sim or city builder as advertised. On its own merits, I think it's a cool idea and I like the visuals, but it lacks the depth and longevity for real replay value. I've finished a dozen+ planets now and unlocked all the main milestones and I just feel like there should be more. DLC looks overpriced for what it seems to add.

I kind of expected this to be more about building up a planet, but it's actually just placing random things into tiles. It seems to have extra unnecessary complexity, for example the giant creatures that move around? I guess they look cool but I don't see them really adding much to the game.

I found the gameplay enjoyable, even though I don’t usually like puzzle-style games. It does lean into that structure more than I typically prefer, but there’s still a lot of value in how it plays overall. The progression felt somewhat limited in terms of how much things actually change. The different giants don’t feel dramatically distinct in practice, even if they’re themed differently like swamp or mountain. I was hoping for more variety in mechanics, like completely different environments…

I wholeheartedly recommend Reus 2 to anyone who enjoys complex puzzles, resource management, relaxing, and cutesy stuff. One of my favorite things about this game is how much care and thought has been put into each "Biotica", which are the many plants, animals and minerals you can place around the planet. They're not just meaningless puzzle pieces to generate resources, they're things that when I sit and think about them could really contribute the resource they provide or the synergy they…

I really like Reus 2. You play as 3 immortal giants, who place 'biotica' (plants, animals, and minerals) for humans to exploit on a planet to grow their cities. The biotica have synergies. Put a carnivorous ocelot next to a gerbil and you'll get a bonus for thinking your ecosystem through. Lapiz lazuli like to be surrounded by other gems; clownfish like to be next to anenomes. As you progress through the game, your planet becomes more biodiverse - a score the game tracks, which allows you to…

tl;dr: negative review for antisemitic content. I really loved this game. One of the very few where I've managed to get all the achievements, and then kept playing because it was so satisfying to build a cute little world. Great; 8/10. Reus 2 is a puzzle-strategy game that aims to create a chill and casual atmosphere rather than focusing on raw mathematical difficulty - but players who enjoy such challenges can still turn up the heat and find what they're looking for. The game is simple on the surface (which makes it very learnable); each round, you pick three gods and create a functioning and healthy ecosystem on a planet, making you think of what kind of biome and ecology would suit each growing human tribe…

Having played the first Reus, I can happily say this is a definite upgrade on the previous instalment! I thought this was going to be a different game than what I got, which was some tile building nonsense.

A moderately interesting game with good balance, but all its features are unlocked within the first five hours, after which the gameplay becomes boring and repetitive. The graphics feel outdated, the music is off-putting, and the interface is inconvenient.

This is a rare sequel that is actually great! It is slightly different from the first but all the magic is there and more. They added a few new mechanics, new combos, and of course many new things you can create on planets. There are more giants with their own perks than in the first Reus. An excellent upgrade from the first from top to bottom. The Devs did a great job. They sticked to their recipe and did not go trend-hopping or monkey-see-money-do. Thumbs up!
