What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 280 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (32,835 of 37,750 positive).
Players praise the game's faithful recreation of the RoboCop movies, including the original actor Peter Weller. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note technical issues like crashes, poor optimization, and save corruption. [4][5][6] Others find the gameplay repetitive and slow, with weak enemy AI and trivial combat. [7][8][6]

My review was going to be very positive, even though I faced counless crashes to desktop or blue screens. But the nail in the coffin was when after 10 hours my saves were corrupted and I cannot restore them. I tried many solutions I found online with no luck. The game is good, the shooting is solid and enjoyable but the technical stuff are a mess. Try it at good discount, you might get more lucky than me.

To be objective about this game means splitting the analysis in two parts. Lore: they re-created the Robocop movies in such good detail, with tons of real locations, real characters, expressions, they even dug into the memes and all the cult following of the original Paul Verhoeven movie, and it's definitely a success in creating the definitive Robocop game. You play in first person and you're an unstoppable tank as …

RoboCop is one of my favorite movies ever. I love second movie as well but everything else - both TV shows, animated show, reboot and third movie, all of it is mainly trash. This game, tho - it's complicated. PROS: + RoboCop! + Auto 9 carnage + atmosphere + it can look cool at times + Peter Weller is back as Robo's voice + slight RPG elements CONS: - story has couple of cool ideas but it's mostly a boring generic …

This is a very special game. It may be an AA title, but in many respects it gives AAA games a run for their money. Most notably, this game has some of the most lovingly-crafted, detailed, and immersive environments I've ever seen in a game - you kind of have to see it to believe it. The 90s urban grunge aesthetic is realized so, so well that I think Rogue City really should be a case study in environmental design. …

I expected a decent shooter, but this turned out to be so much better. Walking through Detroit as RoboCop never gets old, every gunfight feels heavy, and the Auto-9 is just ridiculously satisfying to use. On top of that, the game actually respects the movies instead of simply borrowing the name. I had a great time from start to finish.

Usually happens pre-release (been sent a couple review keys for empty folders before), but anyone else remember when Robocop updated with an internal build of the wrong game?

neutral · AI labelView post →When I first played this game, I honestly didn't know anything about this IP. I just knew that it's a really old IP from the 1980s, so never really saw any of the movies. I wasn't expecting much at all from this game, just wanted to give it a try since my friend insisted that Robocop is amazing. After playing this game, I have turned into a Robocop fan and have seen all of the movies (Robocop 1987 is still the best one). Not only that, I went ahead and immediately purchased Mortal Kombat 11…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was surprisingly fun, not exactly a 10/10 game but definitely worth playing. Graphics as well pretty much beautiful for an small dev team. Especially environment and effects. Lots of replayability since most of the gameplay progression are based on choices, and unlike most fake advertised "choices matter", in this game they actually do matter, you can change several outcomes based on your decisions as RoboCop.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite a strong start, the game has some serious issues. A few levels in, fps dropped to unplayable values (from solid 60 to a stuttery, unresponsive 15). Also, aiming with a scope is so terrible as to be useless. Actually, I kind of feel all the guns are kind of useless next to the default Auto 9, which is upgradeable with unlimited ammo. Thankful I waited to get this for 90% off so the few hours that I did play were somewhat worth it. Otherwise, would not recommend.

neutral · AI labelView post →This is not a bad game by any means, its true to the source material and Robocop fans will get some fan service here. However the overall dull gameplay will bite in as the action and dialogue is slow & plodding and is overall quite a repetitive experience. The game just doesn't have enough ambition to stand up to the stiff competition on offer in other titles.

neutral · AI labelView post →Robocop: Rogue City is pretty good. As a first person shooter, you are basically a tank. You aren't dodging or crouching behind cover. You take hits and make quips. The gun play is sort of basic and your beginning sidearm is all you really need to get through the whole game. The exploration and decision making is also pretty basic. You find the hidden items or objectives and either blast everything or make a simple binary choice. Where the game really shines is for fans of the movies. The…

Basically you stomping around as a Robocop, killing all the bad guys and investigating some minor crimes at semi-opened locations. Weapon impact is superb, gore is fine, graphics and lighting are mostly good. Some minor things like facial animations or ragdolls feel a little janky but it is really not a big deal.

I kinda expected it to be longer, my playtime totalled to about 12 hours and that's including all the achievements and nearly all of the side quests. I don't have any complaints just two nitpicks I would like to share. I never understood why it was added is the auto 9 upgrade minigame, it's literally mentioned once and never elaborated on further. Feels like the developers just forgot it's there. The only noticable thing that it does…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Even at 4 euro I find it to be a soulless, boring, and outdated mess. The RPG system was not necessary. It's a lazy way to gate content and force backtracking to stretch gameplay time. It's not fun clearing an area, only to run into a safe, or a wall, and be told to come back later when you've put some points in a UI, just to be able to do something with it. It's fun enough to be robocop doing stuff like break through walls and crack safes. It didn't need to be gated. The character also…

positive · AI labelView post →As a Robocop adaptation, this is an amazing piece of media. As a video game, they somehow managed to make a cool IP into an incredibly boring experience. The game starts out fantastic: a linear, story driven first mission. Fight your way up a skyscraper to stop a group of thugs. For some insane reason, the devs decided that the next mission needed to be a large, open world map with multiple side objectives. Brownie points for being dedicated to making Robocop feel like a slow, meandering tank…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Faithful Robocop game, that follows the tone of the first movie, including the original actor Peter Weller! My favourite movie as a child, this game tickles my nostalgia gland! It fits the first movie, has elements of the second. And has a story that does justice. The only thing that is a bit weak is the enemy ai. Villains present themselves one after the other, so you always have some action. The story is a bit stretched out with some menial tasks, but that too is Faithful. With the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Good: +good environment graphics +combat is good (at first) The Bad: -performance/optimization is bad -the game is mostly talking head NPCs blabbing at the camera -walking simulator fetch quests -combat is trivial even on higher difficulties and gets old fast If you like games where you walk around and watch NPCs go through their dialogue, then this game is perfect for you. The combat initially seems fun, but it just doesn't cut it in the long term. The dev team certainly really tried to…
