Why so many negative reviews, ROTK 8 is purely role playing, it's true the events need to be triggered by you, but that's the whole point of this game, you basically roam around as a free officer and set the story in motion based on your actions. If you like the role playing aspect, play this or ROTK13, if not try the other ROTK games

Somewhat too easy AI, and making the game harder is not enjoyable either, just more time consuming. All they do for harder AI is make it so you get less resources per turn and the AI gets more. Which doesn't change the fact that the AI is not that good. RPG in this game is predictable and not that good again.

It is in fact incredibly faithful to RoTK 8, it focuses a lot more on the rpg and social elements than most, and that may have thrown people off, but I've been quite enjoying my time thus far.
