What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 189 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (6,652 of 7,046 positive).
Players praise the game's movement and trick system, calling it one of the best parkour games available. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note that the controls, especially wall running on keyboard and mouse, are frustrating and need improvement. [4][5][6] Several players mention the game is more enjoyable with friends, but the price and small player base can be barriers. [7][8][9]

The controls ruin the game. It is the most difficult part of the game and not worth it for players with limited time. A single update for customizable controls would make this game accessible to so many people.

SUMMARY: GAME IS A SOLID 9/10 for me with a couple of necessary tweaks. Wall run mechanics for keyboard and mouse are HOT ASS making time runs nearly impossible... but nonetheless, this game is a blast, smooth mechanics for the most part, and I can't wait to see how far the developers take this. 1. WALL RUNNING The primary issue I find is that once you are wall running you can't move your mouse to look in a …

One of, if not, the BEST parkour game out there. It's multiplayer, its fun to learn and master, combos and lines are extremely entertaining, and the community is great! 10/10

I cant express how much I love this game. This is absolutely a steal even on full price because the amount of love and devotion this dev has for his game is amazing. Oh yeah, solo dev btw. So the presentation as well as performance go hand in hand because I really marvel at how good this game looks on weather on my high end PC or my steam deck and you always find nooks and crannies that are cool to fun and of course …

Brutal challenges, smooth flow, great trick list, nice character customisation and comforting atmosphere. Some jank exists but it's not gonna affect your experience really. Maps are incredible, unique not only visually. Lovely game for chill gamers and for those who want a good challenge! As a parkour athlete, I love it! (Also love the pigeons)

60 of 229 · most liked firstI wish it had more in the way of a cohesive singleplayer experience, but Rooftops & Alleys really captures the magic of a game like Skate - doing even supposedly "easy" things is very difficult, so simply completing half a run can make you feel incredibly cool even after you fall face-first.

neutral · AI labelView post →I watched the development for this game like the rest of us, got insanely hyped for its release only to be here in October regretting my purchase. the game was fun at first, don't get me wrong. But it truly feels as if the developers made the game and then decided to start phoning it in. This game should have been a free tech demo of something bigger. you get 6 maps that feel akin to a mobile game with how textureless and small they are. the lifeblood of the game comes from the community and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has potential and i want to see it do good but i just cannot recommend this game in its current state. I refunded after spending about 50 minutes in game and i can tell you it needs more flowing movement and more things to do. Sadly, even on sale for 13 dollars i cannot recommend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very epic parkour dont listen to haters. if the devs are readinjg this, great job
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →at first it was above average, felt like it wasn't many maps and got 3 stars on them quickly. certain bugs. but with the updates coming in and new maps appeared , fits level editor, patch fix ups.. That brought the excitement back, now that there's more maps to switch depending what the vibe is. keeps you in a groove i cannot explain. like broo, just hit the blunt time and play this ♥♥♥♥ with some headphones and music going. as a break dancer, and old parkour runner, this game goes…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do not like this game. That does not make the game bad. Game good, not bad. Game fun. Game just not for me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game makes trick games like Tony Hawk look and feel smooth. I remember doing 2min runs all in one trick and messing up half way through only to restart the run 100 times over. The key to this not becoming frustrating is decent button mapping on the controller. This game fails for one simple reason that you cannot remap buttons and in some divine level of stupidity the devs of this game decided to put the in air trick button on A which means when jumping or looking to clamber up on to a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an amazing game with lots of new content every couple weeks and has an amazing dev team
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the wall run mechanics need serious work for kbm, other than that not bad, only reason i wouldnt reccomend is because of the wall run, you have time trials that include that sloppy wall run? what a joke! camera doesnt move, character just is like rock mid air, no turning or anything. please work on this
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been following since release and it's a pretty unique project that has frown substentially since it's beta days. Dev is a cool person who listens to the community and he DELIVERS! Nice to have a modern parkour game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rooftops & Alleys is a decent parkour game with solid mechanics, but it is a little low on the content side. However, it does work well on the #SteamDeck. A copy was provided by MLMEDIA for review. steamdeckhq.com/game-reviews...
neutral · AI labelView post →35$ for this is crazy, even on sale i wouldnt say its worth it, controls are clunky and inintuitive, the maps are lackluster and the tutorial just says ah figure it out. Oh also on 4k the game looks like ♥♥♥♥, how have they not fixed this yet

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →R&A has fallen a little barren, in my PERSONAL opinion. I've had the game since Day 1 launch and I loved experiencing the tiny little features roll along... however I'm since disappointed with the lack of expansive updates. The biggest thing this game has done since launch, at least from my memory, is adding mulitplayer & custom map building. Which are both great, however what really makes it feel limiting is how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SMALL the map is. Me personally as a gamer, I can't keep running around…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game's movement system absolutely rips but it feels like it's missing a reason to use it to its full potential. there are time trials and point attack challenges placed around the maps that are currently available and they're pretty alright but so far they have felt somewhat lackluster. I think I would like to see some more deliberately crafted courses (perhaps featuring BOTH score and time rankings) as opposed to the current game's series of mini open worlds with challenges sprinkled…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is pretty fun and has enough content to be played for maybe 10 hours, but that's about it because the multiplayer is dead. It's a good $10 game, but it costs $25 for some reason, and I don't think it's worth that much. (Don't wait for a discount, because there won't be any not even for Christmas.)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like realistic parkour with fluid movement, this is probably pretty good. It seems like it's primarily trying to be skate but without the skateboard. That's fine and if that sounds fun to you, you'll probably like this, but it's not what I wanted and it's not for me. When I play a movement-oriented game, I want it to be focused on tight movement with intricate controls, rewarding momentum preservation, and the challenge of getting from point A to point B. My very short initial…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I imagine this should be extremely fun with friends. Game is actually pretty good. I love solo devs, but unfortunately this game's price is a bit too steep to sell it to my friends, which leaves me playing alone :(
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The controls have a bit of a learning curve, but once you get your head around them this is a wonderful game to try and master.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I felt pure panic when i'm being chased by my friends, I needed to know the controls inside out or its life or death in a game of tag. 10/10 would parkour with friends again!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Summersault into a quadruple flip-corkscrew-neck break on the pavement, stand up, turn into a pigeon, backflip into a concussion and try 40 times to get gold in a single time trial... Its great fun 👍
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My friend, Johnny, recommended for me to play this game, and after maybe 1-2 days of him begging his tush off, i finally got it. AND! This game is really fricking fun, me personally, i love parkour games, but never really found one that was my taste, until now! If my friend never told me about this game, i would just be a lost soul, looking for THE perfect parkour game, but thankfully that's not the case here. you can even turn into a pigeon, which is PEAK btw, i just be soaring…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think if you're a big fan of parkour and Skate-esque gameplay, you have a good chance of liking this game. My big issue is the maps are too small. I was hoping for a lot more room to roam and explore.

neutral · AI labelView post →Great game with amazing graphics and movement, though I do think buying the game full price is not worth it due to what it has to offer.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In my opinion this game is too expensive for what it has to offer. I dont know the Multiplayer seems kinda dead 2 me and it gets pretty boring after a while. Other then that you can learn actually cool tricks but its like boring if u play alone. Props to the producers tho!

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i dont like it i looks a lot funner than it truly is
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great game, cant change pc controls. "ur supposed to play on controller" i dont want to, i find controllers uncomfortable. it should be possible to change the controls regardless, why is G the button for doing tricks??
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of those platformers that reminds me of the original tomb raider games where you have a consistent move set, and you must figure out how to string them along to get from point A to point B. This game asks you to do almost every single action which makes it feel like a parkour game vs a standard platformer. The movement is very precise where, for the most part, I can tell what I did wrong. For example, if I messed up a wall run, I know the angle my character was jumping toward the…

I am beyond shit at it, but I have a real drive to get better and start putting together some cool stuff. It's a game you need to master. PARKOUR!
positive · AI labelView post →Rooftops & Alleys is the freeform parkour game I've always wanted
positive · AI labelView post →The concept is really cool and it feels really fun most of the time but the control scheme is really stale an awful. Steam recommended I play this game with a controller so I plugged my controller in and gave it a try, I'm not personally a fan so I try to swap back to keyboard and the keyboard controls are pretty abysmal and there isn't even an option to rebind things. While playing with a controller it feels like I can only really play if a grow a third thumb or get someone to control the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is really fun to learn, from the gameplay to the time trials though some of them did make me question my existence the parkour aspect of the game is really there and when your playing online with others it feels more lively and there are modes that you can play which it doesn't just keep you in freeplay and all and all the game is pretty addicting when you first get it, I played about 6 hours on my first time opening the game and it will take time to learn everything so don't get…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is the most infuriating game I've ever played the only thing keeping me playing this is the relief I get when I finally complete a level after pulling my hair out for the past hour.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →peak game good job dev
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Skate 5 without the snaekboard. Imagine how Session is more of an arcade-simulator hybrid to the Skate series. R&A is the same, but for Mirror's Edge styled parkour. The only differences really are that R&A has more in-depth mechanics, so you're not just pressing a few buttons to chain together smooth movements, plus R&A has multiplayer to do stupid friendslop fun with your friends. It's something I've always wanted from Mirror's Edge, and Mirror's Edge 2 making it an open world didn't fill…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →rooftops and alleys is very creative and you can do lots fun, and intresting things
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →parkour game that fills the obvious gap in the genre. It follows THPS, Skate in terms of tricking philosophy, but I found mastering parkour and free-running much more satisfying than mastering skate. A lot of potential to build further, hope the developer continues on iterating and release new parkour game with a story and much more dynamic world.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →KEEP ADDING TO THIS GAME, IT IS A PARKOUR GODSEND 10/10 for those who love a parkour game simple enough to pick up, and VERY difficult to put down, at least for a parkour sucker like me. Do you love parkour, and crave satisfying movement with some ridiculously smooth animations? You're gonna love this game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to start this off by saying: The game has a lot of potential and is cool to look at... in concept. The flaws in this game are just to readily apparent from the get go, and while I would normally look past these as just a single dev doing his best, this game is 25 WHOLE DOLLARS. The absolute balls to charge 25 for this is insane. The Upsides: Honestly, I can't name many. There are a lot of cool concepts here, but they are implemented in such a way that it is impossible to enjoy them for…
