Updated. Tried to fiddle with it, but you might want to wait a little bit more before making a purchase.. Here is some Pros and Cons. Pros: - The fact the models are animated is nice. Scaling / Rotating / Positioning them is intuitive. - The Journal and Quests Editors are splendid. - The tool is super neat if you want to chill and create a map (which was my first interest into looking this title.) - The fact you can …

Solid VTT with an extremely responsive development team. This will be the best 3D VTT, if not the best overall VTT in the next few years. Check out the Videos for Brave Alice Games on YouTube to see the system in action. Edit November 2024: A year after my initial review, RPG Stories continues to evolve in all the right ways. A testament to the development team is listening and being reactive to the community.

Within hours of getting access to this program, as a VIP Backer, I was able to create beautiful and immersive maps. Over the next few months and updates, I have logged so many hours that aren’t even covered by Steam and have created everything from small taverns to cities, landscapes, world maps, spaceships, science stations, Egyptian temples, Werewolf Carens and a ton of other things, sometimes just on the whim of people asking for something on their Discord channel. Although RPG Stories is still in development, it is already a wonderful 3d cartography tool embracing elements from medieval fantasy, the modern era, and futuristic/sci fi settings. The people behind RPG Stories seem to be a truly delightful and dedicated crew, and their frequent updates give plenty of new virtual "toys" to play with. I cannot wait for this to become a fully functional 3d mapping tool and VTT in one!

RPG Stories is a game design tool available on Steam that lets players create their own virtual tabletop worlds for fantasy, modern, or sci-fi TTRPGs. Developed by Brave Alice Ltd, the tool offers easy-to-use resources and tools to bring your quests to life. As a fan of RPGs, I was excited to try it out. Upon using RPG Stories, I was impressed by the level of detail in the tool's design. The weather and day/night settings with shadow walks are beautifully rendered, and the sea background's…

I initially bought this program to create maps, but it turned out to be more of a "videogamey" tabletop tool. While I found it somewhat useful for making Call of Cthulhu maps, I switched to CAD programs like QCAD and FreeCAD because floorplans fit much better with my table’s style of play. This tool might be more suitable if your gaming group needs 3D visualizations to enhance immersion or to compensate for a lack of imagination. Okay this is obviously very early in development, but they are off to a great start. I have played around with it for about an hour and it's pretty simple to use. The main thing I wish this had is AI room building followed by the ability to deconstruct some of the prefab building assets. But I bet it's not long before new features and assets find their way into this.

It's capable of making beautiful maps, but be aware that the camera controls are absolute $H!T. REALLY not designed for a laptop, which most of the people I know use instead of a desktop. Plenty of pre-formed structures to use, but good luck actually managing to put anything inside of them, especially if there's more than one level. That said, if you understand that you're occasionally going to want to throw the computer out the window, I'd recommend it.

This is a wonderful 3d VTT with an amazing community. The developers are quick to respond to queries and they have been adding some great features with more to come. Building a map is really easy and there are thousands of included assets.

Quite fun and does what other 3D mapmakers do not which is the all incorporated piece of it. Really helps my campaign have a chance to be more immersive.

When I first sat down with RPG Stories, I thought I’d mess around for an hour or so. Little did I know that I’d become addicted, and five hours would pass before I realized what had happened. My #1 takeaway is how much FUN it is to use. When I went to save my project at the end, and while it felt a little odd to see “Save Game” (since I’d just been building a map), I really did feel like I’d spent that time gaming. That was my surprisingly engaging first experience with RPG Stories. Other…

I adore the kitbashing engine on offer here. The ability to scale any object/building (up or down) allows you to use your imagination to create things beyond the (already extensive) asset library. The lighting & color grading systems add to RPGS' overall beauty. Most of all - I'm a huge fan of the generous commercial terms - exports are all commercial free! Great for fantastical cartographers & artists alike!

Highly recommended for Game Masters and Players: 1) user-friendly controls 2) super support from the development team and community 3) high quality of graphics 4) incredible range of settings and themes 5) always expanding with more assets 6) many custom objects and environments in Steam Workshop

This is an excellent software package for creating board game environments. Lots of features to use and endless possibilities. The devs have regular updates and I am excited to see what else they have planned. A definite yes and thumbs up.

Great GM tool... dont understand all the bad reviews. You can basically build anything... wish there was a plain level tool though.

Looks intriguing! i searched online for the "Demeo" home page, and it looks like an open-system 3D VTT. i would want to compare against the other excellent options (Talespire, RPG Stories, etc), in terms of creating your own scenes, player game controls, and licensing issues.
