Players praise the game for its chaotic, over-the-top fun and humor. [1][2][3] Some note it strikes a balance between serious and goofy, unlike later entries. [4][5][6] Technical issues like crashes and performance problems frustrate some players. [7][8]

The only reason for the negative review is how often the game crashes due to old online services they have not removed from the PC version. I think there's a work around but honestly couldn't be bothered with the faff.

This was my first game in the franchise and a straight up childhood classic. I spent an unhealthy amount of time playing this game. The dialogue is completely insane, the storyline is even more unhinged, and the amount of sex jokes is so high that I’m pretty sure half of them went over my head when I was a kid. A lot of critics dismissed it as a GTA clone, which is honestly crazy. Saints Row The Third doesn’t want …

The sweet spot of the series where the shift towards over-the-top craziness actually worked and felt fresh. Unlike the fourth game, which took it too far and broke the core mechanics, the third entry strikes the perfect balance of chaotic fun. The soundtrack is legendary, and nothing beats the feeling of skydiving from a helicopter into a penthouse party while Kanye West’s "Power" blasts in the background. It’s an …

TLDR: Pure chaotic fun that doesn't overstay its welcome, as long as you leave your brain and standards at the door. PROS: ➕Good KBM controls ➕Graphics aged well ➕Over-the-top action ➕Lots of different activities ➕Stat progression NEUTRALS: 🔹Most of the humor is juvenile, but some can be funny CONS: ➖Crash to desktop count = 2 ➖Story is nonsense ➖Poorly optimized Content (Game world/Narrative) – [6/10] The game …

This game is 100 times more enjoyable when you ignore the saints row 2 fanboys crying about how "anything after 1 and 2 ruined saints row". Great memories with this game.

Players who liked Saints Row: The Third talk about chaotic, over-the-top fun with wild weapons; those who didn't talk about frequent crashes due to old online services. Which matters more to you?
Critics, per Wikipedia
The game received "generally favorable" reviews, according to video game review score aggregator Metacritic. Some said the game did not try to be more than a good time, and described it as a variant of "ridiculous", "zany", or "absurd". In another way, others called it "juvenile". Critics praised the degree of customization options, and had mixed views of the array of activities, but found Professor Genki's Super Ethical Reality Climax a high point. Some found the game's ironic sexism to verge on misogyny, and that its other humor sometimes fell flat. Several critics referred to the game as the perfection of the Saints Row formula It was a nominee for Best Narrative at the 2012 Game…

positive · AI labelView post →Story time: How unclear UI "tricked" players into having gay sex (and they weren't happy about it) In Saints Row IV we added a tongue-in-cheek companion romance system. When it was first hooked up in game the option in the conversation wheel was labeled 'Proposition'

positive · AI labelView post →Saints Row is free for the next 24 hours. I wrote a lot of NPC dialogue for this game, so get it for $0 and please eavesdrop on pedestrians a while before you run them over with your car store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/sain...
positive · AI labelView post →I wouldnt mind if Serb and I did a few streams just looking at every Saints Row game because it's a fascinating study of watching a studio lose faith in the thing it was good at.
neutral · AI labelView post →Game manuals used to be so good. The one for Saints Row was done in the style of an undercover cop within the gang, and if you paid attention, it basically told you who it was and it wasn't a twist that came out of nowhere in the game itself. Clever stuff
positive · AI labelView post →Open-World Games with Drivable Motorbikes?. I'm looking for good Steam games to wishlist for the Steam Summer Sale coming soon. Mainly, I'm looking for any open-world game that features motorbikes/motorcycles as drivable vehicles. It doesn't have to be a racing game. (Side tangent: I wish Forza Horizon 6, or any Forza game, had motorbikes in it.) Games I already have that do have bikes in them: - Cyberpunk 2077 - GTA IV and V - Burnout Paradise - Just Cause 2 and 3 - Saints Row 2, 3 and 4 -…
neutral · AI labelView post →So, the Saints Row reboot is actually good 3 and 4 still have the tightest gameplay in the series, but the new one still feels good to play. Honestly, I think biggest issue is that it’s a reboot. The game has the same DNA, but these aren’t the saints, for better and worse.
neutral · AI labelView post →Side note but I'm actually one of the people who likes the direction that 4 and Gat out of Hell took. They turned Saints Row into the best Crackdown/Hulk Ultimate Destruction game ever made
positive · AI labelView post →I know you're all sick of my posts about how underrated the original Saints Row series is but Saints Row 3 is a game released in 2011 about an American city being subjected to Global War on Terror style military occupation on the pretext of stopping crime. Think this aged better than the GTA games.
positive · AI labelView post →Promise Mascot Agency is really good. Hits that dreamy ps2 feel I remember getting when I played Saints Row 2 (even though the game isn't anything like that). You should by it

positive · AI labelView post →Random thought while cooking: Can we all appreciate what a great voice cast Saints Row III had? I still remember that beginning. And that plane section... Wow. Just wow😌 What a beautiful sexy game it was. Sigh... They don't make them like they used to. www.youtube.com/watch?v=m11m...

neutral · AI labelView post →Games with relatively mixed opinions online, like Final Fantasy XVI and Starfield, I played day 1 and had a blast. Others like Avowed or even the Saints Row reboot, I waited and ended up getting a lot enjoyment out of. If Wolverine (or any other game) looks like it’s a game for you, play it!
neutral · AI labelView post →They're asking a lot for a game that's basically the boring version of Saints Row 2
negative · AI labelView post →BEWARE! If you live/buy this game in germany, you will have the "low-violence" version forced on you. This also counts as a different game version for coop, which means that you are unable to play with anyone who is not using the censored version i.e. everyone outside of germany. This is a massive shame since the game is a lot of fun and i would heavily recommend it. Sadly i can not test the coop, since the people i want to play with live in countries with less draconic game censorship
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Saints Row The Third is pure, chaotic fun. It doesn’t take itself seriously for a second, and that’s what makes it so great. wild weapons, and over-the-top moments that somehow keep topping each other. It’s goofy, loud, and completely unhinged but in the best way possible. If you’re just looking to mess around and have a blast, this game delivers big time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh hell yeah It was actually a really good Saints Row game

If you guessed today's song of the day would be *Total Eclipse of the Heart*, well, that would have been a great guess, especially after the BBC called it "the most dramatic pop song ever written." Could have sworn it said "the most epic" when I first saw the article. But either way, that's the song getting all the hype, and it's a great song, but this one... You can ask five different people where they know this song and you might get…

The game has weird gyro controls where it only work for up-down, not left-right. I tried it for a bit but ended up turning that off and playing normally. Enjoying the game so far, there isn't much of a story though. You just select the level, go in, beat enemies and come back. You keep unlocking more and more stuff though, which gives you a sense…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I know it's a funny way of phrasing it but man I was a real mess in 2010- Saints Row 2 was my comfort game, I wish I could thank the developers at Volition (rip) somehow for helping me out. I was only 17, still obviously figuring a lot of things out, but SR2 was such a brilliant, life saving game.
positive · AI labelView post →3rd best game in the series. Has an good middle ground between serious and goofy. Though i think the goofyness was turned up a bit to much for this game. It lacks some of the serious aspects that SR2 provided while also being goofy at the same time. Gunplay, Gameplay the whole thing is great i think and all the side stuff are just as good as they were back on SR2. Do recommend just playing this on normal, as it's has the fineline of being "hard" and easy at the same time. At least imo if…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I mean, *Saints Row IV* had a female protagonist (though you could optionally play a guy) and there's a stripper scene where YOU(R CHARACTER) strips to *Simply Irresistible* and you do QTEs (since those were all the rage back then) to dance more effectively. I looked on YouTube and only one person made a video of it and everyone else is just reposting that one... and it's the guy. So that's a bit weird. YouTube is funny like that. Anyway, it happened, saw it on my own Xbox anyway.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite my favorite Saints Row game arguably being SR1, and me having the most time in SR2, hating the direction the series went in, and usually just preferring older rougher games as opposed to the more sleek and modern (and bland) corporate polish a lot of new games have, it feels like I really should dislike SR3 but it's quite the opposite. I can acknowledge it's still a pretty flawed game, but once I figured out the direction of the game, and just accepted that SR3 isn't even looking to be…
