Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 221 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (3,539 of 4,859 positive).
Many players find the remaster a solid update with improved graphics and all DLCs, but note it's essentially the same game. [1][2][3] Some reviewers report significant technical issues like crashes, micro-stuttering, and bugs, especially in co-op. [4][5][6] Several players recommend the original over the remaster, citing worse performance and character model changes. [7][8][9]

honestly just play the original version, the 'upgrades' in this vers honestly make the game worse for the most part, the character models look abysmal, the only one that looks even halfway decent is the Playa but even they still look ass thanks to the funky ass patina coating the character model. The most noticeable upgrade is the lighting but that's not worth the sacrifice in storage and performance compared to the …

It's pretty much the same as the original but with slightly improved graphics and all DLCs included. Literally nothing else has changed. If you never played the first iteration or want to replay it again after many years, it's fine for 3 bucks.

Saints Row The Third Remastered is a competent update that makes a classic title playable on modern hardware, but it is ultimately just a fresh coat of paint on an aging structure. Beyond the visual and technical cleanup, there is nothing new here. If you have already played through the original, there is very little reason to return to Steelport unless you are looking for a nostalgia trip. It’s perfect for …

⚜️ Surprisingly, this is indeed a remaster, in case you were wondering if it was just a minor improvement. Sure, the textures are higher, the main character models have been improved, the lighting in 90% of situations is better and more realistic, including all the effects. If you haven't played the original, just play this. However, it's still a game with the conventions of its time, as the animations remain the …

Saints Row 3, but rmastered. Difference in shaders is significant, but the remaster is glitched even more than the OG, to a pint where you will experience constant crashing or memory leaks. even freesync feature is bugged... only way i found to fix the crashes is: - disable nvidia reflex for this game - run the game in borderless windowed mode - cap the game fps to 60 in riva tuner or via driver settings.

Unfortunatly he passed before we could buy it for him and play with him. I will still be buying it for his account even though he isnt around as a tribute to this good game and all that my dad has done for me in my 19 years of life. Thank you Devs. Miss you dad.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Saint's Row: The Third Remastered has a lot of performance problems. I've attempted many community-proposed fixes, but continue to encounter micro-stuttering after about thirty minutes of play. Just get the original game instead; the graphics might be older but at least the game works. I'm glad I was able to get this game for only $2.49 USD.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →🔫💥💜Saints Row The Third Remastered💜💥🔫 I highly recommend buying the original version of this game.- especially if you intend to play co-op. There are no positives to this remaster- only negatives- and it is by far the worst remaster that I've ever played. Problems/Bugs ✪ A constant 'LOW CONNECTION' written across the screen at all times in co-op if you're in different countries ✪ The activity called 'Insurance Fraud' being bugged in co-op to the point where you can't complete it. You…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're asking yourself if you should buy the Remastered or the original, the answer is the Remaster. Personally, my friend and I could not go more than thirty minutes in the original without a crash or network disconnect happening, we had no issues with this one. If you've never played a Saints Row game before and you're asking yourself whether you'd like Saints Row: The Third in general, the answer is probably yes. SR3 is a very simple game. You see the bad guy, you shoot. Granted you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Platinum 156 - Saints Row (2022) Lovely game, not nearly as bad as people say it is. Solid game with a great cast. Some requirements for the plat were mind numbing though, so I'm glad the post game hunt is done. #PlaystationTrophy #PlatinumTrophy #TrophyHunter #SaintsRow
positive · AI labelView post →impressively they made it worse in every way which is actually an achievement
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The old one is better, don't get this. Get the older one, it's less jankier and more optimized.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a downgrade to the original. Remastered? WRONG! It does not achieve the same level of quality as before. SR series has always had bugs, but this is just worse than before. If all you care about is graphics slop then I guess play this over the 2011 version.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →• JOHNNY GAT DIDN'T DIE FOR THIS ... The most jarring changes in Saints Row: The Third Remastered are the painfully awkward character redesigns. The developers completely butchered the original cast, replacing their expressive, stylized faces with stiff, uncanny-valley models that lack personality. Boss, Pierce, Shaundi, and even minor NPCs now look like plastic mannequins with exaggerated wrinkles and shiny skin textures, making cutscenes unintentionally grotesque. The lighting overhaul only…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Remastered? It's just lazy "barely enhanced" edition that's overpriced and that has more bugs and crashes than the original one. It says that this one has better distance view and stuff doesn't disappear so suddenly anymore yet it's just a lie, it's false, npcs and vehicles still disappear and from really close. Worst is that they sell this "udate" for 42$ and on sale the best price as of now is about 11$. Even at 11$, it isn't worth it. Saints Row: The Third is a great game but this edition…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →-90% Sale, cost me like £3 and refunded. Read the reviews that did warn people about this "remaster" and honestly they are correct. Would never play full price for this. Multiple graphical bugs during the first mission, one of them being depth of field not working correctly and making the entire screen blurry when someone walked in front of me to the odd hit detection during the second mission. Soon as I finally was able to roam around steelport the game would drop frames inconsistently to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game is still very buggy, even though i liked the game on the 360 i can not recommended the remastered
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you never played it and see it on a promo for $2? Grab it and enjoy, it is a game full of positively dumb action writing with fun-enough arcade activities to go with it. Be warned though, developers absolutely didn’t care about this game and not a single one of them turned the remaster on to test it. If they did, they would notice the astonishing number of smaller and bigger glitches that are impossible to miss. True, only a few of them are game-breaking enough to cause crashes or to block…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I absolutely love this game, even after all these years, the game is still really fun. The gameplay is chaotic, the missions are crazy, and the comedy still holds up pretty well. Some of the jokes are absolutely ridiculous. Still my biggest criticism is that some parts of the game definitely feel dated compared to modern open-world games. Some activities can get repetitive after a while, and the shooting and driving don't feel as smooth as newer games. It's also kinda disappointing that some…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crashes constantly, half the time it doesn't make it past splash screens. Buy the original, it actually works, the graphical upgrades aren't worth it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My very first Saints Row game I played many times back on the original PlayStation 3 version & honestly, I couldn't be any happier to replay this crazy over the top game once more on my Steam Deck OLED. The Remastered version is every bit as I remembered playing the original 2011 game. Saints Row: The Third Remastered is a very strong 8 out of 10 in my book. Without too many spoilers, I'll keep it light for those who haven't played any of the games yet or are interested in playing this as…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's literally the same game as the original but with more bugs, graphics are upgraded but I don't think it suits very well. tho I already knew this when I bought it, so buy it if you want one more excuse to play sr3 again. If you haven't played sr3 before then BUY THE ORIGNAL.

Also in Gat Out of Hell, Riegel voiced several demons in the game. #SaintsRow #SaintsRowIV
neutral · AI labelView post →I had lots of fun playing this game. This is the first saints row game I have played, so I am not sure about people who are dissatisfied this game. Other than the Jimmy vehicle chase, all other missions were great to complete. I would definitely recommend people to purchase for brainless fun. Edit : I played on Acer predator helios 16 2025 laptop
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The characters all look ugly now imo. Graphics do look better. I didn't have any problems running this game; some people report the original SR3 crashes frequently, so they recommend this. I never encountered any crashes with SR3 luckily, so in my personal opinion: buy if you don't already own the original or have crashes you can't fix with the original.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun, looks good. But is very glitchy. Some people might not have the same patience as me with the glitches.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you haven't played this game, it's worth playing. I skipped it back in the day and wish I hadn't. Especially worth the like 3 or 4 dollars when it's on sale. 100% worth it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's the same scuffed game but with more bugs and worse lighting. i've experienced more crashes on this remaster than i have on both the original 360 and PC versions combined. as for the "remastered" aspect of this, the characters' faces and the gun models are the most obvious changes while everything else is about the same. the character models are also uncanny and have stiff facial animations. they remind me of that hyper realistic mario meme every time they come on screen you're better off…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game as I have always been a hardcore fan of Saints Row and I wanted to add more games to my Steam Deck. Let me say that this remastered version of Saints Row The Third gave me no issues playing, I would say that this game should be Steam Deck Verified because it seems to work as it should on Steam Deck. Any way, anyone who is looking for games to play on a steam deck should definitely pick this game up. Cheers!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun little game to kill time with, either solo or cooperatively; this is a good game to casually play when you got nothing else of note to really look into doing. You can play through everything with a friend, with some missions actually having your friend do the odd mini-game, or taking control of the weapons when you are driving (or vice versa). Compared to Saints Row IV, this title is also more realistic and grounded. It is still quite outlandish but you aren't fighting aliens in a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just as ridiculous and fun as you remember, and the new coat of paint and modern upgrades make it an adventure that you'll want to take on even if you've already experienced it before. Fans who missed out on the original also owe it to themselves... Ultimately, the best way to look at Saints Row The Third Remastered is as the best version of a 2011 video game. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3770729915 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3769985103
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To put it simply, if you loved the original then this is a fantastic excuse to revisit this wacky and memorable joyride. The graphics are obviously much improved and there are several character redesigns which you’ll either love or hate (I’m not a fan of Shaundi’s, for example). If you’ve never played this game, or even never played a Saints Row game at all, this game is definitely worth the asking price of around $30 (or wait till it $2). You’ll get your money’s worth in terms of content, with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too cartoonish and plastic fortnite ish look of the game made it worse option for me. I would recommend you to play original than this. I faced many visual bugs. The rain, textures on clothes, some hair textures are with artifacts. Characters, npcs are looks too cartoonish. I expected more from it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →boy i'm really glad i only paid $4 for this because this is an awful remaster. played the OG back in 2013 and it was nowhere near this janky. you have to wrestle your fun out of the iron grip of this turd. just buy the original and play that.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gameplay is wacky and fun, just like the original. But the co-op is absolute garbage. Some missions straight up don't work. Cut scenes are skipped. And when a missions is going really well, you will lose connection and it counts that as a mission failure. No checkpoints, no attempts to re-connect the players, just "game over" screen and start over from the beginning. It is incredibly infuriating.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not even worth when it on sale tbh, micro-stutter eveywhere and bugs, crashes. Get the original, this one is an unfinished product.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still probably going to try to 100% this, but I honestly think you'd be better off getting the original. Parts of the game definitely look nicer than the original. The lighting is gorgeous compared to the original. Character models have much more detail. The SSR looks really good. But I think with all that being said, it's lost its original art-style that was a bit more cartoon-ish, which in some cases is to the game's detriment, particularly with facial expressions/animations that I'd roughly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Goated just like the original. (also did anyone else realise they censored a lot of images?)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's the exact same Saints Row: The Third you remember, just with updated character models and better lighting. Some of the characters' models look completely different compared to how they looked in the original release. Some are improved, while others just look a bit bland and uncanny. The new lighting engine is quite good, especially when driving around at dusk while listening to GenX 89.0 and running over the Syndicate (and mostly pedestrians as collateral). This version comes bundled with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →goated game, beating people up with a purple phallic bat is in fact STILL peaking gaming
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Way better than the hot garbage they gave us 3 years ago. Goofy ass game but still enjoyable. Would I buy it at full price? HELL NO!!! Wait for it to go on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Saints Row has always been my jam and vibe, especially The Third! Ever since it came out back in 2011, I've lost count as to how many times I've played it. SR3 is the complete package: action, adventure, humor, parody, dope customizations, stylish attacks, phenomenal gunplay and total mayhem makes you feel like a Boss! The Remastered version only enhanced the beauty of this game in the most adequate manner. Saints Row: The Third is the best game in the franchise. Period. And my absolute…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →remastered for better graphics ok good but besides that everything is the same the same bugs and invisible walls etc, just get the old original game instead or get it in deep sale
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I will be honest here, I swore not to buy nor play remastered when Volition announced it for Epic store and yet here we are. Actually it is quite refreshing to be playing SR3 again after more than decade when i completed original, I am still enjoying it, however with remaster there come bugs as well, getting infuriating when you have to restart activity (mission) because of AI who does not move or gets stuck. Although people have said that game crashes, while i have spent 8 hours so far I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This Game Is The Best! Fun gameplay without any annoying realism. Most of games want to be so realistic, but it's not fun! I want explosion, ragdoll, crash, boss alike. But, one minus, there's no interaction with the hoe.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Saints Row 2022 modding update. Fixed a few secondary textures. So I'll be doing 3 sets. One is Freckle Bitch's, 2nd is movie posters, replacing some of them with vintage porn posters. Lastly will change a few art pieces in the game. Those I haven't started yet. #saintsrow #nsfwmods
neutral · AI labelView post →apparently theres a fps bug and it runs like trash honeslty have good hardware but this is just sad
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Idk how they managed to make more bugs in remastered version
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unplayable piece of trash. Go play the original. I still cannot fathom how game developers have grown so incompetent.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't get this one. Play the 2011 original. It works and doesn't crash all the time. I continued playing, it gets way worse. Trust me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The funky mode of GTA... But Remastered It's Saints Row The Third again with better graphics and a much bigger game size (the option of borderless fullscreen is cool too). Honestly prefer the original than this even if this remaster looks good, beware of some crashes here and there.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →CONS: ➖Crash to desktop count = 1 This is a shorter review for me to assess the differences in the base vs remastered versions. [url=https://steamcommunity.com/id/Synikx/recommended/55230?snr=1_5_9__402]For my thoughts on SR3 as a whole, my review of the regular game is here. Final Verdict – I think this is a worthy remastered version. Effectively, the game is brought up from PS3 to PS4 fidelity. I did crash once, and I did also notice multiple bugs that were also in SR3…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its as good as the original, dont expect less glitches with fixes. its good I played it last decade, its fine.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gameplay as solid as the original, with all the extras all there, plus you don't spend 5 minutes clicking through all the DLC that was added when you start a new game. Graphics are awesome, and it's still fun to play. Still comletely over the top!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Looking back at it, its crazy this was one of the first video games i started playing when i was a kid lmfao 10/10 nostalgia
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Better than SR1, better than SR2 because the game actually runs on the PC. The challenges are way more doable in this one, not as many and not as try-hard. I can see how this is slowly turning into an even more ridiculous franchise. Did crash a few times during the insurance fraud, I think because I had a homie with me and I crashed into a tree too hard? Not the worst just sucks when you haven't saved in a while. The customization is really nice in this one, decent outfits.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In March 2023, I bought the Saints Row Franchise (excluding the Saints Row 2022 Reboot) on Sale. The only info I had about this franchise was that they were Third person open world action games like GTA. After resting untouched in my Steam Library for over 3 years, Saints Row The Third Remastered is the first Game from the franchise I played and I enjoyed it. I didn't encounter any technical problems with the game. My old & weak graphics card managed to run the game smoothly after I slightly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I used to play this game a bunch when I was younger and I was able to get the remastered version recently and it's been loads of fun. There's new activities in the version and makes it an unforgettable new experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game and the 4th game (Saints Row IV) are my favorite open world games. I LOVE the franchise it's always fun to play this game and it never gets tiring as with mods you'll have an endless adventure and with lots of activities and missions! sad that volition turned this way and ruined their career they had potential but what can I say, they deserved what was coming to them with the way the things they did at the end.
