Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 176 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (5,230 of 5,586 positive).

Aside from the visuals, the game is a downgrade in every way. Even as a gamer who loves music, I did not enjoy the musical elements the game added. It was tedious to grab the flute every time to progress the puzzle when they could have been just simply integrated into the level design. I loved the series before Samorost 3 because it was impossible to fall for unnecessary backtracking, but with this installment, the …

Samorost 3 is what happens when the series looks at reality, nods politely, and then walks in the opposite direction while playing a flute made of mushrooms. You are once again a tiny gnome in space, except now you have a magic space flute. This flute does not play music so much as it politely rearranges the laws of the universe. Blow into it and suddenly plants wake up, machines cooperate, and entire ecosystems …

It's beautiful, melancholic and contemplative. But it's also whacky and full of little gremlins. Everyone had a children's book that looked like Samarost, and the journey of life is trying to capture that sense of wonder once again. You ever played those slop Artifex Mundi hidden object games? They are a simulacrum, one millionth parts wonder diluted in jank. Samarost pumps the feeling directly into your veins.

I'm not super into Point & Click adventures, i got this game for the absolut stellar, mind altering, astral projecting 10/10 soundtrack alone, but now i got a really compelling and very stylistic adventure game, where you play a funky little jazz musician with perfect pitch in downtown New York, to go with it.

Visually and acoustically the most beautiful Samorost. But in my opinion too long and often too illogical for this type of game. That's why I prefer the two prequels more.

Players who liked Samorost 3 talk about stunning and creative visual design; those who didn't talk about puzzles can be illogical or confusing. Which matters more to you?
Critics, per Wikipedia
Samorost 3 has generally been well received by critics. It currently holds 80/100 on Metacritic. The Washington Post called Samorost 3 "a strange and beautiful point-and-click adventure game." The review likened Samorost 3 to Loom as both games "feature a hooded main character (gnome) who channels magic out of music." The review praised the animation and surrealistic visuals. Another point of praise was a hint system that can spare players of frustration. The review finished with a recommendation for parents who "look for something to play with their young children." PC Gamer reviewed the game positively and praised its surrealness, writing, "Samorost 3 is brilliant at times: Weird,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Samorost 3 is a good sequel to the two previous game, following the similiar theme of exploration, interesting soundtrack, beautiful graphic design and a story told through pictures and sound. This time our Czech animation character is exploring space and other planets as he is saving the galaxy. With him he has a flute, that adds another gameplay element in comparison to the two previous Samorost titles. There's various mini games, making each planet feel unique in gameplay - but also in how…

neutral · AI labelView post →Playing all Samorost games back-to-back, I can say the third game finally feels like a proper point-and-click game. There are multiple different areas to explore and secrets to uncover. No need to play the first two games before this one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Art this good shouldn't exist. EVERY detail evokes a sense of nostalgia that brings me back to a different era of PC games that's now lost. This was really a great find.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is just the author's opinion. The game has been completed with 100% achievements. Samorost 3 is a game that simultaneously preserves the roots of the series while scaling it up to the level of a full-fledged AAA indie hit. The first two games in the series were short, uncomplicated — almost like demo versions — but the third one has become a full-length adventure. Unlike the previous two entries, this installment is built around the world of music and proper adventures: new puzzles, new…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game is entirely about the art. the "puzzles" are very weak. developers are also having a big ol' cry about the ukraine war, which is pretty embarrassing.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More surrealist space adventures from Amanita, Samorost 3 is visually stunning. Vibes based point and click puzzling only lightly marred by an almost too minimalist presentation, it's a must play for fans of the genre.

neutral · AI labelView post →This is one of the most unique visual styles I've ever seen. It's incredibly creative. As a bonus, the game also has great sound design and music. Gameplay-wise, there's nothing particularly special. It's just a regular puzzle game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly I found this game completely baffling. You're kind of pixel hunting the entire game and it's not even clear what's happening when you interact with with most things or how they relate to other interactions on the screen. Samorost 3 is a real paradox; it's like a game for babies with MENSA memberships. I am however looking forward to Phonopolis. It's easier to "read" what's happening and has an interesting story

The first one is free though, so you can try it and see it it's up your alley. There's no "real" spoken language, so you can play it/recommend it to people who do not speak English. I had a great time playing it.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed this, the third of the series. The first two were great to get you used to the game design style, but once you know what sort of shenanigans these devs put together it's a fun ride. I liked the puzzles, the art, the story, and the way they all meshed. I will say some times you know what to do but you just haven't clicked or dragged the right spot to get it done. There is also some areas you have to go through that either require you to undo the a puzzle you completed only to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely charming and delightful! As an older gamer the Samorost series have shown me what my favorite genre/ theme is when gaming. I adore the art, the adorable and amusing characters, the relaxing cozy feeling and the puzzles that aren't too challenging. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very labor intensive compared to the first two. I had to use a guide for some of it because some of the puzzles weren't telegraphed well. Other than that loved the story and visuals and music. if you like point and click adventured i really recommend it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is so charming, weird, and silly! the puzzles are super cool and i love how music is a huge part of the game. also, the achievements! ~ how they all have an individual noise and can be played tg to make a song is so cool!! i love this game so much && highly recommend it!!!!!!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've followed the Samorost series from the simple beginnings as a flash game, and it still makes me so happy every time I see it. The artstyle is gorgeous as usual, and the story much richer than the previous games. It's definitely worth playing through at least once. Fun and creative puzzles, imaginative setting, the only gripe I have with this game is that it sometimes feels like it moves a bit too slow, but I can chalk that up to me being impatient to get going.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A charming game with wonderful music. The puzzles are fairly intuitive, but there's a clever hint book mechanic if you need a nudge. The use of gibberish and symbols to avoid using language is creative with my only issue being brief confusion while figuring out how to save and load games. Samorost 3 is a mood booster of a game that rewards you for playing it, mostly through the dancing and cheering of the adorable protagonist.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolute Flute, its the best
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The flute mechanic is the heart of it, pointing it at a plant or a rusted machine and watching the whole screen answer back with sound never stopped being satisfying. Every planet is handmade in a way that made me sit still and just listen more than once, and the little wordless creatures got more genuine laughs out of me than most games with actual dialogue. My one honest gripe is that a few puzzles run on dream logic rather than any logic I own, and I leaned on the built in hint book twice…
