What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 200 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (11,661 of 12,408 positive).

The DS version is better purely because the limitations force creative solutions rather than offering some strange opened pseudo G-Mod sandbox experience. There are too many choices! Also the "puzzles" aren't really puzzles but just odd requests half the time. Very little thinking or use of omnipotent resources here. It was kind of hard to top the logic puzzles in the first one. Or maybe these games aren't great for …

I got this for $1.99 CAD on a steam sale, best $1.99 I've ever spent. This is an E10+ rated game where you can use a machine gun to kill hordes of civillians. It's peak.

I cannot believe I live in the cruel and miserable reality this franchise is dead thanks to corporate greed. anyways, the game is pretty good and highkey was a positive influence on me when i was a kid. It's still an enjoyable experience even as an adult.

This is one of my childhood games. I used to play it on the Wii U. The puzzles in it are really fun, and the whole idea of having a book where you could write anything and spawn it was crazy to me as a kid. It really enriched my vocabulary at the time. I used to have my iPad in front of me and translate words because I wanted to spawn all kinds of things in the game. The music is also really nice and brings back so …

Scribblenauts Unlimited is honestly just pure “what if I try this?” energy in game form. You’re basically dropped into puzzles where the solution isn’t one set answer, it’s whatever you can think of. So instead of doing things normally, you end up typing random stuff just to see if the game will actually let it exist. Sometimes it works, sometimes it breaks the whole situation in the funniest way. It’s more about …

Critics, per Wikipedia
Scribblenauts Unlimited has received generally favorable reviews. IGN gave the Wii U version an 8.8 out of 10, praising its creativity and level progression, though noting its difficulty was low, and the Nintendo characters were limited. Nintendo World Report gave the Wii U version a 9 out of 10, praising its use of the GamePad, its engaging gameplay, and the new object editor. Destructoid's James Stephanie Sterling was less positive, giving it a 5.0 out of 10, calling it limited, panning its simplicity and stating that "it's not actually worth it to be inventive". In March 2013, the game was nominated for and won the Best Casual/Puzzle Game category of the Pocket Gamer Awards.

positive · AI labelView post →I think this game limits my creative approaches to problem and puzzle solving than it does give me options.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love this game but for all you do, DO NOT TAB OUT unless you want to experience white screen of pure death where you try to figure out how to shut down the game because it genuinely starts a black mesa meltdown in your pc because nothing is responding to whatever you do, frames start dropping so you lowkey just start praying like the monk from clash royale

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Scribblenauts is really adorable and entertaining! But i cant believe that this game is directed towards children, because some of the levels are pretty hard... especially Capital city runoff!!! this game is for creative people that like puzzles and are a child at heart. If this describes you, youll definitely like it! EDIT: the game got boring for me after collecting 60 starites! Would i recommend it? yes, but only when its on sale!!!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Word wizards need not apply If you can think of 100 words in the next 100 seconds that you want to conjure up magically. Then this is the game for you! Scribblenauts Unlimited is actually limited, I mean, well you can't conjure anything you want and that's unfortunate. It's a fun word play game where you type in words to create objects to solve puzzles. The fun part is figuring out what you can summon to get the job done. Sometimes the obvious solution works, and other times you end up…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, however, do not tab out as it will break and you'll have to reboot

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is clearly meant for kids under 12 or so, but it is so adorable it's hard not to like. It basically challenges you to finish puzzles solely from world associations, but also allows you to play around at your own pace. You can even make vehicles and different outfits at any time! If you have kids you want to challenge them with fun word games and creativity, or an adult who wants to get some nostalgic PC kids game feelings then this is a fantastic game to try.

positive · AI labelView post →After playing Scribblenauts DS and DC, I'd say.. This is the best Scribblenaut game in its series. For a game about solving problems by creating words, adding "adjectives" is such a simple but effective way to learn English. Additionally, No grinding or anything is needed in this game; unless you are doing 100%, just figure out the "most ridiculous & effed up" solutions to its puzzles. Bullies? Chloroform. Evil Exe? Chloroform. Dragon? Gigantic Chloroform. Parents lost their child? > @@@…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Scribblenauts Unlimited is a Sandbox language game which is fun and offers loads of creativity and silly moments. The freedom to summon almost anything and solve problems in your own weird way makes it really enjoyable. Simple, charming, and surprisingly addictive!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Scribblenauts Unlimited is a charming puzzle game where the only real limit is your vocabulary. Summoning objects and tweaking them with adjectives makes for a creative and relaxed experience, making it a great pick for teens or anyone looking for a light brainteaser. 🟢 Pros: - Creative freedom: Typing into the notebook to summon almost anything remains as brilliant as ever. - Well-balanced difficulty: Keeps things simple while encouraging you to think outside the box, without ever feeling…

The world is a wild place. Here's a photo I grabbed of the screen as my kid was playing Scribblenauts Unlimited back in August 2017. It does a great job of impulsing creativity, allowing you to summon thousands of different objects and experiment with unique solutions. Exploring different ideas and seeing how the game reacts is part of what makes it so enjoyable.…

negative · AI labelView post →If you play to win you'll get bored quickly at how easy it is to cheese everything. If you play this game to try do to wacky stuff you'll have a lot of actual fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As of today, Cogs (2009) is the 419th best game of all time according to me, directly below The Final Fantasy Legend and directly above Scribblenauts Unlimited. It is part of Tier 39. There are 48 tiers and 539 games in the list. #PixelRankings

positive · AI labelView post →I love this game, it brings back good childhood memories, from when I played this on my phone and tried to solve all issues with violence :]
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first game I ever got on Steam and still to this day one of my favorites. I had such a memorable experience playing this and will never forget it. Solving these silly little puzzles was so beyond satisfying and there's so much room for replayability. Genuinely amazing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a bit more dinky than I remember. That's the main thing. I breezed though this, and much like a plain hamburger without a bun, the actual story of the game is pretty forgettable. And boy, is is a time capsule of 2012, which while in some ways is charming, is also a bit of a system shock comparing to my fuzzy memories of playing this on the 3DS. I think I remember being slightly disappointed with the game then, too. Especially compared to Super Scribblenauts well honed & hand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game brought back part of my childhood, as much as it is an easy game now, most things solved simply, some easter egg riddles and characters that tie to pop culture moments. If you are going for perfected games, this game is really easy to 100%. If in doubt, greek fire.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good kids game, regreted trying to 100% after the first 5 levels but a commitment is a commitment
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Steam Deck Playable - ❌ UW Support - ⚠️ (3440x1440p is present but not properly implemented) Such a light hearted and great game to puzzle through and even try new and inventive solutions. Imagination is the key and you truly are not limited. The hint system is also a breeze and can easily spell things out if need be. The scenarios are varied enough to keep things interesting. Such a good game for kids to improve their vocabulary and critical thinking.

Jokes aside, childhood classic that i always loved that's still worth playing to this day.
