This game was very enjoyable for me when I was smaller, but unfortunately all it does is glitch everywhere. The screen becomes a mess of flickering storefronts and white daggers of light that shoot across the screen, which basically gives you epilepsy. Fascinating game. It was great years ago, and I finished it again with great pleasure nowadays. And that's not a call of nostalgia. There are many old games which didn't age well, but I can't say such a thing about this one. Yes, it's graphics will not impress you these days and some gameplay mechanics are rather old. But the game brings an enthralling non linear story, great music and atmosphere as well as …

20 Hours in: Just like I remember it. Open World on the High Seas and not much in the way of side quests. The ship combat and controls were revolutionary at the time. Easily a top 10 favorite game. 40 Hours in: One of the best open world games ever made. There are lots of times I am left "wanting more" from the game, Remember it came out in 2000 and most of those ideas had not even been considered at the time. 60 …

No, seriously, I tried to like this game since 2000, when it was released for the first time. Back in 2000 it was kind of a big deal, since it was one of the early attempts to make fully 3D version of good ol' Sid Meier's Pirates!, the game that was ported to many system and loved by millions of people around the world. Sea Dogs…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Akella's sequel to their pirate RPG, Sea Dogs (2000), was bought by Disney and renamed Pirates of the Caribbean as a tie-in for its 2003 film Despite a few other changes, it had little to do with the film. That didn't stop it from being an incredibly fun pirate sandbox for many, though. Arrrh!
positive · AI labelView post →Glitchy graphics, multiple bugs, loss of original font. Shame really, I was looking forward to playing this again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The steam version doesn't work, don't waste money, there is no refund. Buy this game elsewhere, the game itself is quite nostalgic and good.

neutral · AI labelView post →This game is rubbish and really not worth the money I spent on it. The gameplay and graphics resemble something from the early 90's. If I could get my cash back I would. Guess I will just have to treat this as a bad purchase and get over it. I would NOT recommend this game to anyone.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While everyone was talking about GTA, a game that I thought was canceled forever was released. If you were a fan of Sea Dogs or any of Akella's work at all, you might remember this one from back in the day. If God of War (05) gameplay mixed with a Pirate theme sound fun check this out.

neutral · AI labelView post →So glad I found this game again after all these years. A classic swashbuckling open-world RPG that still captures the imagination just as much today as it did 20 years ago. The game has its quirks that take some getting used to, but it's well worth the effort. Truly an under-appreciated gem. A few notes about the graphics/playability: -According to the system requirements, the game requires an external graphics card. I'm not sure why this is the case for such an old game, but I think this…

neutral · AI labelView post →Nah I can't carry on with this boredom that Sea Dogs instills. It never tells you anything you're supposed to do, you just walk around and try to talk to people, expecting to stumble upon something meaningful. You also gotta find your own campaigns / missions, your own way to make a buck and avert a mutiny, and everything everywhere is extremely glitchy. The menus are glitchy and barely functional, the gameplay is glitchy and incredibly slow-paced, the quests are glitchy... What am I supposed…
