I will talk a bit more about the gameplay because many have commented on other aspects. Streets of Fury Ex is fun and interesting to play because it has more depth in combat than is usual for a beat em up. This game features more aspects you would expect of a fighting game, in terms of mechanics. You have the basics moves and special moves, blocking, parry but you have combos, launches and air combos, ground …

This game is amazing! I don't understand why no one is talking about this game. I randomly found it by looking for games with that photorealistic character style, like Mortal Kombat. I thought it looked like it would be silly fun for a bit, but it actually turned out to be a really great game! There are so many characters, and they all have their own move sets. And I was finding new moves and combos all the time. …

This game is wild. It's like Pit Fighter if Pit Fighter had great hit detection, belt scrolling, and a ton of characters each with a whole lot of attacks. Stringing together combos is insanely fun, and the whole crazy low budget feel with live action characters and terrible voice acting brings it all together. Like, seriously, it thought of everything. Stamina meter so you can't just block everything and get guard …

Come for the funny. Stay for fluid controls with amazing combat

Man I wish there was a game where I can beat up people on the streets while being Nostalgia Critic.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this was already a 10/10 but then they put in nostalgia critic
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You're doing yourself a disservice if you boil this down to "that thing one of the SOR4 studios did that has the nostalgia critic in it" A bombastic and unhinged love letter to brawlers that does so much to stand out in its genre with plenty to keep you busy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nostalgia Critic is playable that's so Dougin' Awesome!!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love french humour (and just the possibility of playing JDG and Seb is incredible)

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Streets Of Fury EX, aka 'lol lmao the one with the Nostalgia Critic'. Yes. But it's also the first game by the team that went on to make Streets Of Rage 4 and Absolum. Even with zero budget and no artists, they understood what made a great brawler. A heart of gold beneath a photo-sourced jank skin

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nostalgia Critic obliterating thugs in a 50 v 1 is the highlight of my life. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →my kids really love this game..
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nostalgia Critic has an infinite combo
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got it at a discount price, and I regret not paying full price. This game is absolutely hilarious with great combat. 🤣🤣🤣🤘
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is dope as hell. Makes sense this is what the devs made before Streets of Rage 4.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →GOAT, the way games should be made. Street Fighter has some competition!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →play this and come back in 10 years
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The steam page list the Nostalgia Critic being playable as a selling point. Need I say more?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A silly, and really fun game with a great soundtrack and the freaking Nostalgia Critic as a playable fighter. PEAK!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I and my non gamer girlfriend had fun playing this game together. It is silly and entertaining!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Funny game to play for a day or two. Grab it on sale or leave it be. The visuals remind me of MK and MK II. Game looks gimmicky but has more depth to it than expected. I got it on sale, ran through the campaign and uninstalled it. Worth your while. 6/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can play as The Nostalgia Critic from the hit channel named "Channel Awesome"
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nostalgia Critic has some crazy combos.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →COMING UP IN ONE HOUR... ⤵️ WE HIT THE STREETS of Fury EX It's come back after 10 years with an update! I know nothing about the game! Nostalgia Critic is in it! I didn't really watch him much! After, chilling out with SF6 Terry ranked to Master LIVE @ 6pm CST 📺 twitch.tv/neatonyle #nylestream
neutral · AI labelView post →Amazing side scrolling beat-em-up very much cut of the same cloth that Streets of Rage and Final Fight were; but, with a wonderfully advanced and deepened combat system that adds an extra element of fun as you learn to juggle your enemies to death. Also funny 2010s internet reviewers as characters.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Almost 3 hours into the game, I was told to come back in 10 years, and I immediately alt+f4'd. It has now been ten years, and I am overjoyed to say that this game is actually really fun! The fact that the devs fully leaned into the "come back in 10 years" joke by dropping a huge update brought a tear to my eye. Absolutely worth picking up or re-picking up (after 10 years). positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can play as The Nostalgia Critic
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is amazing. Pit-fighter meets streets of rage, monty python, and a silly french cast. Every time I play this, I discover something bonkers. I'm fairly certain they pasted Aaron Paul's (from breaking bad) head on a playable character. I got this key in a bundle. After I played less than 5 mins, I bought 4x keys for friends. The only negative is its local coop only and I have spent hours with friends on discord trying to set up and troubleshoot a remote play session. I've done remote play…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →come back in ten years
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm 10 years too late! Game is great.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I forgot I had this until I was looking up another game in my library with the word "street" in it. I remembered hours of playing with friends, slightly sozzled and laughing our asses out at how unabashedly stupid this is, it's intentionally tacky, cheep looking like a 90's fmv experience. The most important thing is the silliness is captivating, and I found myself repeating over and over "this is so f**king stupid" while laughing
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this game thinking there's no way this is actually a game. Booted it up, played a bit and ended up realising; THIS IS A DAMN GOOD GAME.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →🥖 Didn't expect much, but this game isn't only good in its genre, but also HILARIOUSLY good! Obviously inspired by «SoR», but has enough of its own mechanics. Only two campaigns, but there are additional modes and plenty of unlockable characters with unique skills. Despite the cuts in animations, they are smooth. The music is nice, but the locations are quite similar. Considering the price on sales, it's awesome and better than some indie beat 'em ups. And where else you'll see the Nostalgia…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →streets of rage is a terrible ripoff to this game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the greatest video games of all time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just the best game ever, actually just the best game ever, no joke... Doug Walker can do infinites and is wildly funny, no joke, actually just great, I would recommend. Seriously.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →How the hell did this fly under my radar, and why is it one of the most fun games i have ever played?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Surprisingly good! The same folks would go on to make bigger games but everything in here felt very solid and the digitized sprites didn't get old for me
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You want a sequel? Come back in 10 years.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Anytime I test this game I just wish I was playing Panzer Bandit or even Streets of Fury EX. If I ever found a ruleset I liked I'd put it late in winners because sending someone home with this would feel like a crime. I know it's loved but it just hasn't clicked with me.
negative · AI labelView post →this and Streets of Rage 4 are the best beat em up's like, ever
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →@wario64.bsky.social has been posting some heat! This looks and sounds like a game dev student's final project. Weird characters, odd art style. But the combat feels SOOOOO good. The dev studio later worked on Streets of Rage 4 - SoR4 runs on the same engine used to make Streets of Fury EX!
positive · AI labelView post →big lipped alligator moment
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Please make more games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They won't believe me when I tell em this French brawler is deep it truly carries the torch of the golden era of gaming I came in expecting a parody and found a masterpiece instead This style of game direction didn't get enough time to express itself, things were progressing so quickly in the late 90's we blew right past an incredible process these devs have matched this live capture aesthetic with some great coding and made some very unique movesets to explore, the local co-op and tag battle…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't think I've ever played a side-scrolling beat em up with as much sauce as this one. It genuinely saddens me that no one's made something with as much combo potential as this since it dropped in 2015, worth every penny
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a long time fan of Beat em Ups, coming form the 90's myself, this is just an absolute gem. Unhinged, a parody and the game knows and embraces it. It has a lot more depth than you'd ever think, a serious amount of game content and unlockables. This game combines fighting game and beat em ups in a classic yet amazing fashion. It features people like Le Joueur Du Grenier, Bob Lennon, Benzaie. But also Kevin Hart, Kayane and the Nostalgia Critic. An absolute gem for a fun time alone or with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game's cast is the definition of what western fandom looks like
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Looks like a late night infomercial from 1994 designed for the vhs where they were forced to fight in a mortal kombat x street fighter style. Unironically fun, ironically stylish, and possibly haunted.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I cannot believe the price of this game. And I got it at a discount. I wish I had paid full price. Also, this is the ONLY game in my 1,000+ Steam collection for which I actually bought a game controller. Love you guys!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It reminds me somewhat of "Way of the Warrior" for 3DO... Highly recommended
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game needs to be released for modern consoles! 🔥🔥🔥
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →overly entertaining if playing with friends realistic graphics sick ass combos its worth the $5
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is the sex bomb. Kill endless goons in typical streets of rage fashion, only, this time its in france, and Nostalgia Critic is there. *2026 update* They updated the game after 10 years, adding a bunch of new content. Actual mad lads lmfao
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun and lots of goons in the same hoodie to punch.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has the Nostalgia Critic. Enough said.
