I was super hyped to begin with because this is basically "Zelda Maker," but this game is super clunky, full of bugs, doesn't have a solid tutorial, and personally don't think it should have had any sort of official release. This game has a solid foundation that supports cross-platform level sharing. However, it currently suffers from some bugs and an overall lack of tools. It is not 100% clear what all you can do with some of the tools available. This does not feel like a 1.0 launch, and I worry it may suffer the same fate as Rogue Heroes if not properly cared for. As a rabid enjoyer of Nintendo's Mario Maker 2 (I made an entire 8 world set of levels) this game has quickly become an equal obsession. Fun little game for level editor lovers such as myself. Think Super Mario Maker except for the dungeon crawler genre. Although, if you're more of a player than a maker, I don't believe it's worth it- but, if you're into building, give it a go!

This game had potential. Unfortunately, it was abandoned without any notice and is severely lacking in content. Play Quest Master instead, it has regular updates and the demo alone has more content than this game.

I originally posted this as a positive review, but after learning that this game was abandoned and Quest Master exists, I've decided to change it. I don't think the two game studios are connected. I can't confirm one way or the other, but Quest master seems to be coming from a place of passion, while this game feels more like it was simply meant to cash in on the void of "Zelda Maker" While there are plenty of tilesets, and some really creative ones too, this game suffers in almost every…

I agree with the fellow reviewers that Quest Master is a different game which is doing the same but better. The developers just stopped posting updates or teasers since April and only have teased their bundles. This happened to my second favorite maker game Levelhead, which they obviously know of because there's a bundle of the two, but that can be justified as it's a bigger studio working on a different game for the time being, and they've said they'll come back to it afterwards. Also, it's…

I think this game has potential to be a big game that everyone would be talking about but only if FIRECHICK polishes the game and continues to roll out frequent content updates. As of right now I wouldn't recommend the game as it feels very lacking but I believe the dev team has something on their hands here.

I really want to love this game, but the longer I own it the worse it seems to get. After so long there are still many bugs and updates are inconsistent. Worse yet the there is another game in early access that seems to aim for the same thing this game does, and honestly looks better. I feel scammed. I don't want to hate on any idie game, and the devs seem really cool, but this just isn't what I was hoping it was. Arts good tho

Important note first: Development on the game has officially been stopped since April. The worst part is that there is no official announcement here on steam on that (unless I missed it). Now the actual review: The game is ok if you like the style but in terms of gameplay and available mechanics, there are way better options out there. Really painful to say this but it's just too buggy and rough for a paid release at present, even in EA. I so wanted to love it as old school zelda dungeons are the best, but I think you'd struggle to finish the first one if you'd never played a zelda before. There is just no signage or help at all for even basic controls. Then the gameplay, it's so close but just feels rough, even running at 60fps. Finally it appears to be fine on steam deck, but I had issues with it even booting on the 2nd…

Not polished or tested well at all. First weird jank I noticed almost immediately was that attacking was extremely inconsistent. Turns out that's because the sword always attacks towards your mouse. Fair enough. Except the shield only defends towards where your movement keys were facing, and ignores the mouse entirely. Neato. Two totally separate aiming methods for literally no reason at all. Great start. Pushable blocks can be set to only be pushed from one direction, except with no visual…

The undo button doesn't work... Accidentally left clicking anywhere runs the risk of ruining your door design. Extremely limited in resources you can place, also only 9 different event action triggers can be placed at a time. For a map maker game they really didn't put much thought into how the tool should feel. It looks good on the surface. but trust me this is a terrible excuse for a dungeon editor.

Finished making my first major dungeon. This game, both in game and in editor is too glitchy for a 1.0 release, but most of it can be worked around. I'm guessing it was getting patched as I was working on it as some of the glitchiness (like with permanent staircase removals) stopped happening. There are also limited dev options but that is true of most game-maker games...that's why you are playing the Zelda dungeon maker instead of building dungeons from the ground up in Game Maker (which is…

Not recommended as of now. The game corrupted a build I was working on, rendering an entire room unable to be traversed as previously laid out tiles were rendered as non-existant when zoomed out. Also happened on walls. Was hyped to try this out, but with those sort of game breaking bugs, I'd pretty quickly lose my fun. Therefore, I suggest you wait a little for a few patches or just entirely pass on it, as sad as it sounds.

Let me tell you my story. I spent like 1-2 hours learning how to use the build mode because this game's 'tutorial' (which is the tiny bird sandbox on the game's hub area that you could easily miss) is dog water. The tutorial just consisted of bird NPCs shoving a vague wall of text at your face expecting you to figure it out. Still I pushed on and had to trial and error + experiment just so I could get a grasp on how to start building a dungeon. So I spent like 5+ hours crafting the most…

While this game is good overall, it still has some very big issues. It can not handle changing the border of large rooms well, causing noticeable lag when even adjusting a single wall. It also has a big issue with corrupted tiles.
