Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 212 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (31,981 of 39,332 positive).
Some reviewers criticize the game for excessive grind, forced MMO mechanics, and server issues. [1][2][3]

Devs abandoned the game for a new game, without fixing glaring issues/bugs or implementing an offline mode for this game, even when they knew their servers are horrendously bad.. Scummy. We funded their next project, not this one.. Can't recommend and i'm definitely not buying anything else from this developer again.

A good game kneecapped by the devs incompetence. They wanted to make an MMO "lite" but don't plan on adding future content. There are time gated and progression gating mechanics (Palpark and limited Temtem breeding with expensive items for example) that you wouldn't otherwise see in single player games. They also refuse to add an offline mode or multiple save slots. They expect you to use the speedrun mode if you …

Temtem is a really fun creature-collecting MMO that manages to capture the charm of classic monster-taming games while adding its own ideas to the formula. The world is colorful, the Temtem designs are great, and the battles have a nice strategic feel to them. I especially enjoyed the exploration, collecting different Temtem, and building a team that actually feels unique to your playstyle. The online MMO elements …

highly recommend with friends - makes farming and progression a bit better to deal with overall. highly Don't recommend solo - farming solo and trying to progress is a slog of a journey. one mind you 5hrs into this game barely have 1 or 2 decent leveled temtem's. things that need fix - exp curve is terrible. gameplay needs balance for combat. ai adjustment (grinding every other battle is lunatic behavior)also having …

Players who liked Temtem talk about great creature designs and colorful world; those who didn't talk about excessive grind and slow progression. Which matters more to you?

It seems like no matter what type of game you want to play—whether it’s an RPG, shooter, or even something traditionally single-player—you’re stuck with always-online requirements. And for what? It adds nothing to the experience for most players and, if anything, it makes the game worse. Take Fallout 76, for example. You can’t play it…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do not purchase this game, or any game from this developer. They are bad and unreliable. The lead developer spent more time trolling reddit and telling people they were stupid for not liking their game than actually working on it. There are plenty of creature collectors on the market that are better. DO NOT buy this game.

This is an honest review on the current state of this game. TLDR: Go play other creature capturing games, like Coromon, Cassette beasts, Palworld ect... Temtem was released back in 2020, I recently got a pc and I wanted to play a good creature capturing game, sure this game has good graphics and the music quite neat; it has some major design flaws that will make you hate the…

neutral · AI labelView post →Did you know that Temtem is my most streamed game of all time? If we're getting a new game I'm going to lose my mind.
positive · AI labelView post →Apparently Crema is making another TemTem game that is more of a Palworld survival-crafting thing, which legitimately sounds neat, but I'm so hesitant to give that studio any money. I used to lurk on the forums just to see how not to respond to free feedback
neutral · AI labelView post →Unprofessional, disingenuous, arrogant customer service and support who couldn't care any less about their players.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ok, I'm about done with this game. I gave it the old college try and I just can't recommend it to anyone. Firstly, the MMO elements are so pointless. I feel like the vast majority play this game solo (like most Poke-clone creature collector games), so the lack of an offline mode is an oversight to say the least. The bigger issue, though, is the balancing -- or I guess, lack therof? I feel like the game wants to be a more "difficult" version of Pokemon, but it's not. Not really. It's just…

neutral · AI labelView post →The thing that drives me nuts about Palworld is that Pokemon-likes have been around for DECADES. Recently, even! Remember Temtem? It's completely possible to make A Game Like That, even in aesthetics without resorting to AI bullshit or "hey let me change a few answers on your homework" design grabs

positive · AI labelView post →This game had amazing potential but the developers sadly ruined it. The game was poorly managed and its potential was never realized. These stupid games like swarm and pioneers are a waste of time for these devs. They really should be putting their resources in fixing Temtem which they never will. Also they lied on their kickstarter so all of the people from the kickstarter got scammed at the end of the day. Then these developers have the balls to start other kickstarters. it is actually wild…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Temtem has the potential to be great but is sadly ruined by the inclusion of MMO mechanics, forced grinding, and a disrespectful amount of time wasting. They aren't doing and more content updates so the game is basically in maintenance mode. The Tem designs are mostly great, graphics are nice, and I like the different islands. I like the 2v2 combat and think it adds a level of depth that's missing in Pokemon as you have to take more elements/types into consideration. Unfortunately what ruins…

You can see that i have tons of hours in this Game. All of these were from early Acess. The Devs promised an mazing Endgame, but in my Opinion the Endgame was just bad. You have to Grind hundreds of hours in this Game for Certain things and if youre a person with a Normal Job, some Things are almost impossible if you dont wanna just work and play…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As many hours as I have put in this game, and although I do get enjoyment out of it, I have a hard time recommending the game itself for multiple reasons. 1. There are missions in the game that you can accidentally break sequence, or will actually spoil some of the story by showing you dialogue you shouldn't have access to yet. It also allows you to get quests that should probably be locked, as you cannot complete them, but gives no context as to why. 2. It also will give you items to…

neutral · AI labelView post →This was one of the best monster catcher games I've ever played, Temtem has a large and diverse range of well designed critters. A fantastic and fairly well written medium length story, a cool battle system and a decently integrated multiplayer aspect. So why the negative recommendation? The game quickly became too grindy in more ways than one, earning cosmetics through the rolling quest system was initially fun but in turn felt more like a repetitive chore I just didn't want to do with some…

neutral · AI labelView post →I can’t say I recommend this game. While the early stages are enjoyable and seeing all the creatures for the first time is great, the middle and later parts become a tiring slog. The gym puzzles often feel based on chance rather than skill, the experience gain from battles and the game pass is minimal, and the level scaling is wildly inconsistent, with one opponent using a level one hundred creature and the next using creatures many levels lower. Many of the creature designs feel uninspired to…

neutral · AI labelView post →The game feels like it wants to emulate Pokemon badly but does not have the feeling quite right. The balancing makes grinding the only task in the main quest to the point that I felt myself avoiding using new critters to avoid the grind. I'm excited to see what else this company does because I fell like the bones are there but this game has had me put it down a few times now.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game story is solid. The tem designs are great. I liked the concept of this game initially because it wasnt just collect and battle, it added online. I was expecting the game to offer future development and progression, and not just come to a standstill when you get so far. Game had great potential but is now dead. All Crema had to do was just listen to the player base and drop some regular updates.

positive · AI labelView post →I don't normally write reviews for games, but this game is like going to a friend's house to play the Pokemon Card Game with them only for them to change the rules to come out in their favor every time. I have played countless RPGs/Creature Collectors/Souls-likes and this is by far the most annoying. negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to give a positive review, but there are some things that prevent me from doing that. So, why is this a negative one? First of all, the game feels unbalanced. The amount of time I spent in the very first area, having to level up my team so much, running back to my house to heal, so I dont get 2shot by wild temtem that were like 10 levels below me is too much. Levels dont play a big role in the game, and damage seems unbalanced. The amount of grinding needed is also just too…
