What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 34 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (61 of 83 positive).
Players find the game fun but overpriced at full price. [1][2][3] The pixel art is praised, but cutscenes and story are criticized. [4][5][6] Combat is described as clunky and repetitive by some reviewers. [7][8][9]

tl;dr - it is overpriced and undercooked. The obvious first thing anyone is going to notice is that this game has a $40 price tag to it. So the question would be: is it worth a $40 price? Granted, it is a licensed game...but lets not kid ourselves here. Shredders Revenge is a TMNT game and it is only $25. You can also pick it up with the DLC in a bundle for less than $30. So to come out at the higher price point, …

First of all, at $40 USD this game is very overpriced compared to its competition. Second, the game has ok to sometimes satisfying beat-em-up mechanics. Normal hits and combos are just barely ~ok~ in their feel, but using supers to clear out big hordes of enemies is very fun. Boss fights are very strange and will be the major point for players. All big enemies and bosses have full 'super armor' most of the time …

Graphics - Sprite work is great, but the cutscene story art clashes, and looks like an indie G-Rated 90s film. Sound - Some of the music is generic, but considering the last two Cobra Kai games had the show composer, it's a tough act to follow. Gameplay - Decent revive system on multiplayer, but difficulty ramps up too much on certain levels between Easy and Medium. The game is very easy on multiplayer, but not …

I love this game and they did what LJN couldn't do in the 90s and that is make a good beat em up. I bought this yesterday on the special promo for $10 and it was $10 worth spent. I'm a huge Karate Kid fan and i had it on my wish list for a while now then i seen it on sale and i couldn't refuse that deal. I can tell the developers took time and effort to make this game. Sucks that this game isn't online co-op. I give …

its a good game with karate kid references and fun the game is valued better at other locations makes it worth it cause 40$ is too much.

It shows you what makes a beat 'em up truly great, and it's not just about the name on the box... err, digital file. Streets of Rage 4: The combat is sharp and responsive, letting you pull off combos, throws, and special moves with a satisfying crunch. Every character plays differently. Every punch feels like it has some weight behind it. In…

I got it on sale for $10, so yeah it was worth that, the story is slightly off and made me laugh throughout. It reminded me of the 80's and my grandmother would say if you do all these chores for me, we can go to the store and I will buy you a new Transformers for your collection, My excitement goes up, I do all this work only to see her pull into Kmart and know damn well she was buying me a Go-Bot not a Transformer.…

positive · AI labelView post →A very loose recommend. First off for achievement hunters, steer clear of the game if you want to 100% this game. I started hunting late 2024 and decided to get this game on sale and 100% it while I waited for Stellar Blade. I only ended up with disappointment when I had everything unlocked but the 100% achievement. Not sure how they programmed a tracker to somehow miss seeing how I unlocked every other achievement. It is what it is and since this game doesn't have an audience nor updates,…

neutral · AI labelView post →As a huge karate kid fan I tried hard to like this but it is just kind of…boring? The art style is the best thing about the game but the move list is repetitive and there really isn’t any enemy variety (I get it there are only so many things you can do with high school kids but still). I had much more fun with both Shredders Revenge and Marvel Cosmic Invasion

It aims to strike a balance between retro gameplay and modern polish, appealing to longtime fans of the franchise as well as those who enjoy cooperative brawler experiences. While its dedication to…

The Norman Lear sitcoms, the Merv Griffin game shows, I Dream of Jeannie, Bewitched, The Young and the Restless, Idol, Millionaire, Charlie's Angels, Fantasy Island, Walker, SWAT, and several others.
neutral · AI labelView post →This game is super simple! it's like any retro beat em up games...like Final Fight, Streets of Rage? Battletoads, TMNT Arcade the list goes on...The game characters r decently similar to the real characters from the movie. only the cutscenes makes em look really awful, no similarities at all..I think it might be due to copyrights...cuz they r ugly as hell...nothing like Daniel, or Miyagi...they could have bought license for it to make em look very similar. Maybe that's why it is so cheap…

neutral · AI labelView post →The short range, clunky movement, really small Y plane hitboxes, the really bad throw attacks, i just didn't like how it felt to fight. In a beat-'em-up i doesn't matter if the visuals are pretty decent if the combat is jank.

positive · AI labelView post →Can't change your keyboard controls, wtf is this? Something as simple as that, I like this beat-em-up style but forcing players to use a certain keyboard layout deserves a mock of a reputation on the devs
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is fun and it does honor the story line of the franchise but subtitles and transition animation clips does not give it a genuine story mode. The extra modes do help a little bit but some game modes are really frustrating and achieving 100% for this game would be easy if it wasn't for an achievement named "Learn Fly" good luck with that one, other than the story mode the game is fun but would highly recommend purchasing on discount.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →at 75% off you can forgive this for all the things in the negative reviews; a bit of clunk and not really feeling like the IP in sound or visuals. Full price is absolute madness. Just don't go in expecting to experience a story ride or get any movie vibes - this is just a brightly coloured pixel button masher, using Karate Kid to get our attention

negative · AI labelView post →Thanks everyone for hanging out! I managed to get 80 of 84 achievements! I feel pretty accomplished with that number so I will probably put Mega Man 2 on the back burner and try out another game next time! See you tomorrow for The Karate Kid speedruns!
positive · AI labelView post →I was enjoying the game until I realized it doesn't support cloud save, so I can only really play it on one device, for a game like this, that sucks. I made a lot of progress on my SteamDeck and I just came to my PC to pick up where I left off to find out I would have to play through everything all over again. I mean the game isn't bad, but I can't recommend it when it is missing such an incredibly basic feature.

Weirdly, it's actually a pretty fun roaming brawler with two playthroughs (one for each dojo) and a 'true' ending for doing both. Not a classic but solidly fun, surprisingly.

VASTLY superior to Wave Race 64, yet sadly sold less. Book: House of Leaves. The most brilliant psychological horror I've ever read.
neutral · AI labelView post →Next finish is Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues. By rights this game should be bad, but it's actually a pretty decent brawler with some levelling/skill unlocks etc. A bit unpolished but more fun than it should be, and with some funny scenarios like Daniel beating the crap out of Yasmin 😂

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a...fine brawler. Just fine. Has a lot of modes and multiple characters, the pixel art is decent and the animations are OK, but it has no online play (seriously?) and the Karate Kid brand is just stapled on and barely used aside from some really weak static cutscenes that apparently aren't AI generated, but would easily be accused of being such. Fun on deep sale, but $50 standard price is a ludicrous ask.

You get plenty of time to react to enemy moves. This also makes it a more relaxed beatem up.
