Game has alot of potential, but it hasnt been developed much given the last update was over a year ago. There are only 3 maps to play (up to the Dong Zhuo campaign for those familiar with the history). Each play through takes a few hours, but ends just when youve built a deck you enjoy. Worse though is the game isnt really playable because of the bugs outside of the Liu campaign. For clarity, Liu is a basic strategy …

yup, wow this is the kind of game you buy out of desperation for a new deckbuilder because you played all the others but soon realise that it is just SO GOOD. The translation is good, the artstyle music and dialogue is good, the combat system is freakin awesome with a unique touch on the regular slay the spire formula. To me it is on par with great games like breach wanderers slay the spire and whatnot. You will not …

There is a good game hidden in here, but there are some bugs, a lack of a proper tutorial, and some obtuse mechanics that prevent this from being truly great. Once you do understand everything, the game can be quite fun. Each of the three generals offer a unique playstyle that you can play around with and enhance with specific cards and strategies, as well as supplemental generals. Definitely needs polish, so maybe …

Really fun deckbuilder It's a fun deckbuilding game. If you like deckbuilders, you will like this. This is a must play especially if you're a fan of the Three Kingdoms era. My only complaint is that the game only goes to the battle with Dong Zhuo. I thought it would at least go to the battle of Chi Bi. It's kinda short. A lot of unlockables but a bit on the short side. The translations are also a little rough. …

Decent card-battler. Background is the Three Kingdoms era. Recommend.

43 of 43 · most liked first2 problem I had with this game: First, the game developer is very lazy. Below is how he or she solves tech issue. EA 1.01 bug fix .....Quote: Important: for those bug to work, please delete the following file in your computer\Users\user name\AppData\LocalLow\senmu\Three kingdom game. Unquote First not everyone is technical enough to find this file. Second this is not the right way to solve tech issue in a game. I will not recommend people to buy at this moment. Second, the general cards…

neutral · AI labelView post →While I did have fun and I did play for a fair amount of hours, considering the huge amount of deckbuilders to choose from I can't recommend this one. There are simply better offers out there. This game still has a few bugs, translations issues and some UI problems, none of which are game breaking. But couple that with some balancing issues, some cards should be buffed/nerfed, some generals and equipment same and the different factions should be better explained and balanced. All off that…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall this game is a recommend with caveats. The core mechanics are very solid. The cards have good variety and potential synergies, with plenty of things that start useless but can become incredibly powerful with proper investment. The map gives enough options to spice things up and make strategy important but never so much that it's overwhelming. Enemies are varied, buffs and debuffs are well thought out. The translation is serviceable, if a bit overly flowery. Some things could use…

neutral · AI labelView post →I remember how much players shit on Portal and then--jokes on them--the set became worth good money because of it. I always wanted those Three Kingdom cards as someone that nerded out on the Koei game but couldn't find a retailer.
neutral · AI labelView post →Having finished my first run victorious, and having read the beautiful "Thank you for playing my game!" from the individual developer, I finally want to return: Thank you for having created this game! It is one of the most satisfying deckbuilding experiences I enjoyed, with different strategies that can be used within the runs. I want to point out some things I really love in "Three Kingdoms: The Journey": + Cards are many, and they contain individual attacks of the "generals" as well as "army…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoy this game play a lot. The faction balance seems to be a bit unbalanced given the "Sun" faction seems most clunky of them all.... Perhaps more of a tutorial on the faction uniqueness would be helpful to newer players. Good setting, animations are a bit confusing can't tell if that is their intended art style or just were short on time for some of the characters. But the actual combat animations, most of them are good. I did find some minor spelling mistakes which is a shame for a $13…

neutral · AI labelView post →Total War : Rome Remastered gave me so much pleasure even though the game has not aged that well, since it's just a remaster of an old game so since I now love the serie AND the characters in Romance of the Three Kingdom let's enjoy Total War : Three Kingdoms !!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Legend of Cao Cao, aka Sangokushi Sosoden, a PC Koei SRPG game release back in '98 and fan translated. It's a Romance of the Three Kingdom game where you follow Cao Cao's life from his early career to his rise in power, with a new ending with two* branches based on your choices throughout the game.
neutral · AI labelView post →This game is a mess. The UI often doesn't work. The translation is poor or non-existent leaving you stuck on screens.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is not a bad game I do think some of the cards could do with a rework and some more heroes of the the three kingdoms era would be nice
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My newest review is up! I wrote on Three Kingdom: The Journey, a turn-based card game set during the Three Kingdoms period of Chinese history! Some good stuff here, but a lack of tutorials really hinders it a bit. https://gamecritics.com/gc-staff/three-kingdom-the-journey-review/
neutral · AI labelView post →Enjoyable ride to kill an hour or two. It just needs more content which the developer promises, so here's to hoping it gets there faster. Cheers!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ancient Domains of Mystery Though that's been my favorite Roguelike forever. lol And my most played game on Steam. Though I was playing it for many years before it came to Steam. Other picks for this year: Final Fantasy Tactics Monster Train 2 Shadows of Doubt Romance of Three Kingdom 8 Remake
neutral · AI labelView post →"Great Potential, but Completely Undone by Game-Breaking Issues." Three Kingdom: The Journey immediately drew me in with its solid core mechanics and promising deckbuilding foundation. The gameplay flow feels smooth and strategic — it’s the kind of system that can easily get you hooked and eager for “just one more run.” On paper, it’s everything I look for in a roguelike deckbuilder. Unfortunately, that excitement quickly turned into frustration. Within my first hour, the game crashed twice.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →4. Dynasty Warriors 5 bwoy. where do i even start LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL playing this game in english was a ride as someone who knows Romance of The Three Kingdom + mandarin
neutral · AI labelView post →Really love supporting indies esp those with 1-2 members only. Great enough a game to last slightly more than 10 hours, but it's a little too easy so may lose its edge rather quickly. Very good tie-in of Three Kingdoms IP to the mechanisms of the deck builder adventure genre.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Slay the Spire with a Romance of the Three Kingdoms skin Card variety seems pretty good, though I'm clearly still in early game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Final Boss Hits Like A Truck Spoiler: the game ends when you beat Dong Zhou - So, no. you can't unify China I guess the game has replayability since the 3 rulers play differently, and in addition you have different generals which have different abilities of their own. In addition, all the rulers/generals have their own unique sprite/animations and not a color swap - so that is good. for the price, you get the amount of content that you paid.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good game! Zhang Fei is the best vapmire, better than Dracula himself!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a card game with diverse and in-depth gameplay. You have a choice of all three starting factions and they are all worth a try
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easy recommend for roguelike fans and deckbuilding fans.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reasonably good Slay the Spire clone that has some minor bugs and translation errors but is nonetheless quite fun to play
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Slay the Spire probably inspired this, but this is unique on its own. While I like to support any form of RoTK themed game besides anything coming out of KOEI, I don't see myself playing too much on this. Part of this is because I spent quite a lot of hours in Slay the Spire, imo the presentation isn't that great. Many area feels lacklustre to me. The fonts, the dialogues, tutorial, and even important stuff like those special stats of enemies aren't really explained (nothing when you mouse…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played the original (as in black and green terminal) Romance of the Three Kingdom strategy game and Lu Bu was the one you wanted to recruit (besides Zhuge Liang), though it was usually impossible.

neutral · AI labelView post →Fun but currently in a rough state. Translation is a little unclear and its missing some tool tips and other information.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For how often the enemies are able to do brutal amounts of damage (200+) the runs just take too long. At some point there's nothing you can do even picking only cards of one spec. I'm personally very done dumping 2h into a run ended by "yep there's no stopping me, I just get that many raw stat points".
